California Family Fitness

This location is 100% better than the one in Carmichael. They gym is clean and not a hassle to get on the machines. I have not been given a proper tour yet but that is ok me with me. I had a few issues trying to find things at first. I am happy that we got a membership here.

I went here to do the promotional 1 week free trail, when I got there I clearly stated that I only want to do the free trail and the manager Rachel insisted that I have to sign up first and cancel within that 7 days which I did 7 days later but I didn’t know they also counted that day u signed up so apparently it became 7 days and 10 hours when I called to cancel. She told me I was late but she still gonna do it for me but I ended up getting charged a membership fees anywase. Now they tell me they cannot reverse the fee because I was late, wish I knew they were gonna charge me I would’ve at least made the money worth it, Come to find out, free trails doesn’t even need to sign up anything… Rachel did me wrong because I’m sure they get commission for signing people up… Horrible business cal fit… Be aware people…

My wife and I go to this gym 2 days a week and most of the time its great. I’m not one to complain too much but I had to get this out there.
We decided to use the hot tub for a 20 min soak as we’ve been doing the past month since. We notice this time that the chlorine smell was overpowering and was even stinging our eyes. The next day we couldn’t get the chlorine smell out of our skin and both of our swim shorts looked like they’d been bleached and are now ruined. I contacted the club manager Kristine to see about at least replacing our swim wear but she hit me with a classic corporate response. She said the levels are checked every day and there was nothing wrong with the water and they would not be replacing our swim wear. I Can’t argue with that but I can tell you guys.
On another note the trainers play music while they’re training and the gym has a different set of songs playing simultaneously so we’re stuck listening to two songs blended together which sounds awful.

This place is going downhill. You’d think they could fix the drinking fountain and sauna with hundreds and hundreds of members paying $ 60-​$ 100 a month.

When I signed up at Cal Fit in Roseville I was given information about the gym and membership pricing. I was only offered one price option, for one individual, that included access to all the locations. However, I was not told about the lower, individual price for only one location (which is $ 10 less per month). A friend that night told me about it, so the next day I went in and decided to cancel my membership. The same man I worked with the day prior said that he «didn’t even think about it» when I asked why that option wasn’t offered to me. I didn’t appreciate that I wasn’t given that information when I went to sign up. My refund should have processed that day, but it took 2 separate phone calls and over 2 weeks to even have the refund processed, although by law it says that a refund must be issued within 10 days of notice. I would not recommend this company. For being concerned with «family fitness» I am disappointed with their professionalism and for trying to sell higher priced packages than they should and not following their own refund laws.

This is based off of the childcare. I’m a regular at the CH location and but today decided to try the Roseville location. The childcare looked like an actual daycare center and had so much for the kids to do! Not once did they have to find me to let me know my two year old was crying. In fact she didn’t want to leave at all. Very pleased and the childcare staff was top notch. A+ childcare center.

I wish I could give this place 0 star’s. The name of this place doesn’t mean anything especially to a family. I dropped my kids off to the kids club and my son began to cry after me. My 11 year old daughter stayed to comfort him, so I went to work out for 30 min. Within a couple of minutes of me leaving my daughter text me and said the employees were telling her that she needed to leave to the older side thus leaving my 2 babies under 2 years old alone and crying. My husband went to talk to them and stated that they were extremely rude to him and said that is their policy. I went to see if I could explain my kids situation to the employees and to see if they would allow my 11 year old daughter to stay with my 2 under 2 they said no. EVERY other club absolutely loved having my older daughter there to soothe the kids and to help out. I pulled my kids out and decided I would talk to the manager. When the 20 something year old manager came out after waiting for 20 minutes, he said that’s the policy. I understand if that’s the policy, then why the inconsistencies within all the clubs. I’ve never had this issue with the other clubs. He was extremely rude and gave me his corporate number and name and told me to talk to them. He definitely had his coworkers back and the customer was not right.

The bummer thing about this gym is it has the Potential to be a very nice and i’m sure it was 20 year ago but the management has let it go down hill. None of the free have markings on them so you have no idea what wait you have and 90 percent of there equipment is 20 year or older. 05÷05÷15 after i wrote my review Cal Fit reached out to me and for that i gave them an extra star because it shows they care about what there customers think Good job on there part.

I really like this place when it isn’t crazy busy. I kinda wish the little section for women was a little bigger. Also I wish they had more evening classes. I am from roseville and spend so much time in sacramento for work. After a long day at work & sitting in traffic, I just wish I could go to a class later on in the night after I’ve relaxed for a little bit or taken my dogs for a walk.

I’ve been a member for about 6 years now and today was the first time I’ve taken my 3 kids under ages 7 to swim in their pool and had a great experience. Their hot tub was clean. I’m used to public hot tubs with sand and dirt at the bottom. I wish they were open till midnight.

Love this place, very family friendly, clean, the staff members are wonderful (except for one). Kids club staff are super friendly and caring. I love how they know my kids name the first day we were there. They make it a point to understand my kids and their personality.
This club deserves a 5 star the only reason I gave them 4 would have to be one of the sales person is down right rude, I believe his name is Patric, on «many» occasions i seen parents struggle to open the door with their kids at hand, and Patrick stood right NEXT to the door with his hand in his pocket completely ignore them lacking «common courtesy» only to see other club member helping them out.

When you remember people by name then you definitely had a good experience and that is exactly what Anita provided to us. My husband and I were currently members of 24 Hour Fitness but I felt nasty there as the machines were run down, the gym constantly had an odor to it, and I never found myself going there. Anita set us up on guest passes and I immediately fell in love with the gym. Francine is a good Zumba instructor on Tuesday but the other lady they have on Thursday really does suck. All of her music was Latin and you found yourself just doing repetition — hardly a workout.
The gym always smells fresh, the members of the club seem better than that of 24 and the gym has more to offer. The only drawback is you have to pay for tanning when almost all other gyms offer it for free. I am sure the members of the other gyms pay less than what we pay to go to Cal Fit as well. Since then I have brought them 8 new members :) I love Cal Fit!

Only been to this gym one time and I had a good experience, everything was exceptionally clean like all other gyms. Staff was nice as greeting me. I took my first xBike class this morning (definitely something that I will be back for more of), I really liked some of the equipment I saw. After the bike class I only had another 45p minutes or so. I will be back soon to try more of their equipment at this gym in particular.
Spoke with Olivia and Georgette, concerning an issue at another gym with the sales team twice saying that they would take care of it but essentially forgetting to add rewards points to my account for referring a friend. Olivia explained to me that the sales guys dont even have access to that system. Both of them were very apologetic even though it was not something that they could control. I’ve been a member over 15 years and one thing always holds true, they make it right.

It’s quite disheartening to have to create a Unilocal account because one believes it is perhaps the only way her voice will be heard. About a month ago, I joined the Roseville California Family Fitness. I was excited about their Women’s room. In fact, the moment I saw it, I was sold.
Hoping to maintain my enthusiasm, I signed up for one-​on-​one training sessions with a trainer named Ryan. He was likable and flexible with what I wanted to get out of my sessions. [Edited for length]
I could no longer afford my training sessions. Since I had not begun my sessions, I called the gym to process a refund. I called at 4:10PM today. Ericka Chandra said that Matt Leake would return my call within the hour. I waited.
At 5:15PM, I called the gym myself. After being told that I was being transferred to Matt, then the assistant manager, and finally ending up in Matt’s voicemail, I called back, yet again, at 5:16PM. I was told that Matt was in a meeting training others but that I could speak to Jordan, the assistant manager, and that he could help me. Jordan couldn’t help me. According to Jordan, ‘the gym never, ever refunds money to people for training sessions, but they were going to do a one-​time courtesy for me.’ However, he said that he couldn’t do so because no one knew how to process the refund, so they had to call corporate. Mmmk. I asked him how he knew that I would receive a refund, hoping he would realize that if he possessed such knowledge and authority, he most certainly should know how to process a basic refund. He said that they were able to extend the courtesy; as if it was the first time ever anyone was extended this «courtesy.» My real inquiry of how Jordan was able to possess the absolute knowledge of my receiving a refund and the authority to convey that information to me, but yet still had no clue of how to process a refund went undetected. Wow.
Needless to say, I’ve already had a very stressful today. Dealing with the runaround from a gym because the training department dropped the ball on actually TRAINING any and all managers to process a refund for such situations is seriously the straw that is breaking my back. How this gym houses numerous managers but nary a one can handle my refund at any given moment is absolutely ridiculous. My situation is a consumer basic. I am asking for a refund for services never rendered. By the way, as I type this, it is 7:06PM and still no call back from Matt Leake.
I sincerely hope that someone with customer service skills and the «magic key» to the refund box sees my sincere feedback on the Roseville California Family Fitness and realizes that one voice does, in fact, matter. I probably won’t hear back from Matt Leake tonight, and I’m not really expecting him to develop customer service skills any time soon. But, I do know that this experience makes it rather unfortunate for likable, skilled trainers like Ryan. Today’s events equal an immediate but temporary financial hardship for me. I will recover just fine. But, when I do, there’s no way in a kitten’s tail shake that I’ll be investing my money on training sessions with the Roseville California Family Fitness.
It is now 7:27PM. If it takes this long to receive a returned phone call from Matt Leake, I wonder how long it will take to receive my deserved refund? That exhausting wait has already begun…

Well, it happened 24 hours later, but the one competent and solutions-​oriented management-​level employee that the Roseville California Family Fitness has, named Olivia, IMMEDIATELY handled my refund issue. Her customer service was efficient and hassle-​free. She took the time to listen and allow me to vent my frustration in the very poor handling of the situation by Jordan and Matt Leake for what should have been a simple refund issue. Jordan and Matt’s lack of ability to communicate effectively was ultimately the catalyst of this entire problem. The ease in which Olivia handled the refund certainly makes me question why Matt Leake couldn’t have issued the credit immediately as well, instead of tagging me in my voicemail this morning in an unsolicited game of phone-​tag, and stated that the refund was being processed. All I sought was a return of money for services not rendered.
In speaking to Olivia, I re-​established my faith in the management at the Roseville California Family Fitness; however, I’m strictly doing so one person at a time. She issued a refund and credited my November dues as a courtesy for my hassle and frustration. She did not make excuses and explained exactly how and why the issue was not handled exceptionally. I appreciated her honesty and kind gesture. I don’t anticipate any further problems at this gym, because really the facility is fine. However, should I have any further concerns, I will be going directly to Olivia for a solution.

This gym is awesome! The staff is helpful and friendly. Machines are always clean amd bathrooms! Its not too expensive if you are a student either. And if you have to freeze the membership there is no charge. Tony the supervisor is great and helpful!

Great facility. I want to thank Patrick for sharing his time touring us around and hooking me and my spouse with the discounts. He even offered to help us with our workouts if his available. Very professional! Thank you!

Very shady business practices. Signed up for a family membership and the snakes selling memberships finagled out the price and after calling for a week and fify phone calls later there is no call back to fix it. Now the price that they quoted no longer existed, even call corporate office to try to fix it and they would not

Great front office. Chris helped me with my account, got me a small credit towards my new family plan-​awesome!
The daycare staff are better than great and let us have a much needed workout.

This gym is huge and one story with a high ceiling. This is good because when this gym is packed, it does not feel packed due to its’ layout.
There is a ton of equipment that is well-​maintained.
This has been my favorite location for the nearly 9 years I have been a member of CalFit. I seem to have my best workouts at this location.

This review is for the mixed level Yoga class with instructor «Valerie».
There I was getting centered when I thought to myself «I REALLY need to Unilocal about how great this is!»
ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT.
Valerie is a great instructor, very clear with direction, suggestion and guidance.
Highly recommend. Go get centered, get your stretch on, get sidetracked and then have Valerie gently reel you back in.
