Simply awful! We live nearby and have been to this place many times since they opened it years ago. It used to be a pricey for an Asian buffet but the food was good. But over the years this place has gone down the drain. Our last family visit was a week ago and we will never go back there. Food was not fresh and tasteless. Service was non-existence. The whole place was gloomy and unclean.

Omg this place was awful! We went there at 7pm on a Wednesday night and there wasn’t any sushi at all, it was sooooooooo dirty, the chefs were standing against the wall in there phone. We paid $ 80.00 to eat there and it wasn’t even worth $ 10. Should have known when we walked in and it smelled funny! My 9yr old son wouldn’t even eat, he only had a drink! Never again will I go back!

Terrible customer service. Six of us(3 couples, all seniors) went to dinner there and they told us they NOT honor the ½ off coupon for a 2nd dinner because the other 2 couples were being given the senior discount. We had separate checks. The food was barely edible everything seemed old and left over from the previous day plus one of the people in our party got violently ill from a grilled meat which had been sitting out NOT refrigerated. I did not want to give 1 star rating should be zero star.

There were 6 of us who met there for dinner. We went for the sushi first. It was ok. We wanted the sashimi but noticed that it was old. We asked if we could have a new batch made… blank stare. Supposedly she did not speak english. After about 10 minutes of asking, she put out new sashimi. They had someone(not a cook) cooking meat, fish, chicken… meat looked old and not kept cold. I didn’t eat it… my husband did and got later got sick. To top it off, one couple had a coupon which they would not honor. They told us that because the other 2 couples got a senior discount, the 3rd couple could not use the coupon. What? Sorry last time we go there.

I’ve seen worse, but let me get down to the big issue; most of this place smells like its restroom. It’s okay that the restroom smells like restroom, but while you cruise the buffet trays, the restroom odor wafts throughout. If you have the misfortune of being seated on the north side by all the windows, be prepared to dine to the enchanting odor of restroom. The place smells like ass, and makes me want to puke. The food is only two-star quality at best, and when combined with the scent of tropical summer colon, there is no possible way that I could give it more than a single star. I noticed the stink on my prior visit as well, but I figured maybe someone unloaded a week’s worth of dump at once that day, but no… either they need to work on the ventilation in the restrooms, do some more cleaning, or something. It’s just gross. The staff seems nice though, as they stand attentively with their arms politely folded, probably thanking their lucky stars that nobody requests they hunt down that stink. It makes me cringe as people walk down that hallway with noodles hanging over the edge of their plate, all with a smile on their face; have they lost their sense of smell?

I am generous enough to give 1star. Let me go straight. The food is not that fantastic. Its not worth the price. The service is reaalllly bad. All they know is to get plates from your table and that’s it! The server is not paying attention even they are facing towards you, you are invisible. You need to shout so they could hear you. And take note they are just standing on the side(very near to our table) we asked the waitress to take a picture of us since its a special occasion. What’s weird is she just look at us blankly as if its not allowed to take picture? She called someone to take the picture in her behalf. IDK… Seemed weird for us. And geee when you talk to them(3 servers) they look at you blankly. Weird!

Food is okay. Nothing special. Way too expensive for a buffet. I will not be returning because of the cost. Service was okay. Bathroom & the dining area seemed clean.

I just had lunch at Golden Koi. I’m not a fan of buffets, however, a friend took me to this place and I would say that I am a fan. The food was great, the sushi was not that great but a number of options are incredible. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for something different and don’t want a burger or fries. The service was not friendly but for the buffet world, it was enough. I would come back.

Whoa, your food isn’t that good. At these prices you better have something special to offer. Which you don’t. I won’t be back unless the prices drop.

Its a chinese buffet. Its hit and miss on the quality of the food and temperature. Weve gone a few times but not really anymore. $ 16 a person, decent entrées and sides. Crab and fish is usually cold and poor quality, not salts or flavoring added just salty water taste, even the dipping butter is plain. Soda is always lacking syrup, save $ 3 don’t bother ordering one. Ordered 3 different kinds of soda always tastes like it had sat out for 2 days with added carbination. This place could be great, but for $ 16 it doesnt live up to it. They only keep the food fresh and hot when its busy, makes sense but it should at least be warm!

I shoulda known better. My mom INSISTED that we have dinner here last night for a celebration. It was raining sideways, but still, she insisted. First impression, it’s clean, good for large parties. Not very crowded for a Friday night, but it was also pouring rain. The buffet has a lot of seafood offerings, everything looked fresh. They have a grill area that you choose meat & shrimp from & some standard buffet sushi. Service was overall excellent, except that the lady cooking on the grill spoke NO English whatsoever. I just wanted to know if she was finished with my plate. She just kept shrugging her shoulders. Food tasted average, not worth the 40 minute drive. But one major thing, a few hours after dinner, I woke up in the middle of the night with major BGs(bubble guts), cramps, and nausea. Not a good sign. I probably won’t come back. If I want BGs from a Chinese buffet, South Sac has enough for me to choose from.

Golden Dragon was good, Golden Koi is not, avoid this place. First thing is it’s pretty damn expensive for a buffet which is why I wont be coming back. Previous owners had 99% same food and the price was half of what it is now. Not sure what happened there, the food was«okay» nothing special. Now have to find a new Chinese buffet in Roseville we can go to. Miss the old place and ownership, used to have good prices with decent food.

Buffet had a grilling station but no cook in sight. Everyone just lined up their plates with meats and left them there for the cook. I did the same. Came back 10 minutes later and my order was already given to someone else. Waited around and got someone else’s order too. Steak was way overcooked and tough. Crab was so-so. Charged for tea I didn’t order $ 1.69 Boo!

It was one of the very few places open on Thanks Giving. It was not very busy so there was no wait. The prices had been increase for Thanks Giving to $ 15.95 each. I think it was supply and demand. Not many choices if you really wanted to eat out. The food was the standard buffet food. A good variety but not a lot of taste or presentation of the food.

BEWARE! If you think this is going to be like the Golden Dragon is is NOT. Whoever took over has no regard whatsoever for the food. We came on Sunday and paid $ 16.00 per person for GARBAGE that we couldnt even eat. The sushi was just ok but the other Chinese food was lukewarm, rubbery and obviously left from the day before. It was NASTY!!! Overpriced, disgusting old food… NOTHANKYOU… never going back

Hi-ya! We were seated quickly even though the place was fairly busy – drinks, forks, spoons and napkins delivered while we were busy checking out the buffet. The selection was pretty good and they initially were keeping the place well kept, but at some point they got too busy or something because food was smeared on the floor, cleaned plates that were stacked had food still on them and employees were just bustling around trying to keep up. There was only 1 kid who bussed the entire back area, but actually did a decent job keeping up with the cleanup. We never were asked for refills on our drinks and to be honest the food was similar to all buffets; whereas a handful of items were food, but all others very blah. The desert… specifically ice cream… was wrong. It was grainy and didn’t have the right colors of vanilla(white) and chocolate(well brownish). Maybe the machine was broken – I don’t know, but it wasn’t really good. The steak that could be grilled up… had a propane glacé to it. I did however like the sesame balls, Chinese donuts and California rolls. Overall 3 stars because if they were able to manage keeping the place cleaner while running I would have been generous and given 4.

This place met my expectations. Pro: Nice décor Clean Friendly Cheap Selection Jalapeño Chicken Did I say cheap Con: Lukewarm food Fried food not crisp Salty Just my opinion as there were tons of buffet professionals when I visited and Golden Koi doesn’t appear to be hurting for business. If I was still in college I would probably eat here once a day. As a matter of fact, when I was in college we had a JJ North’s by my apartment that I did frequent and I loved it so there.

My brother and I went here for lunch and was not disapoionted. Tons of food choices: — Fresh Sushi — Fresh meat cooked to order — Salads — Soups — Deserts …and much more The price for my brother and I was under $ 25. The only negative thing I have to say is with the fake crab meat they use in a number of dishes were a bit unpalatable. Other then that, Id recommend coming here to someone.
