Jake’s Towing and Recovery

Outstanding company. I had a a blow out late at night on I-​80. It was a Friday night and I had forgotten my cell phone at home. I sat I’m my truck for 2 hrs, before the CHP stopped. They called Jakes Towing for me. Jake arrived in less than 5 minutes. The tire was a shredded mess and I was on the rim. He got me up and running in no time. He was very nice, his service truck was nice and clean. Very professional company. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them. If you want the job done right and in a timely manner, Jake’s Towing is your company.

I had my truck impounded. Jakes towing really showed me how sleazy, and scummy tow companies can get. We have no choice but to pay what ever they want. $ 300.00 per hour??? Also the woman at the desk seems to hate her life and shows it to their customers. All in all this tow company lives up to the reputation that these industries hold. Worse than the oil spills in their parking lots. Its sad that our police departments contract such trashy people. Ten thumbs waayyyy down.

We called Jake’s yesterday early evening to tow one of our company pick up trucks. It was broken down less than 20 miles from our office. They told us they would be there in 30 minutes… I called them and asked for a copy of the bill this morning– over $ 250! We were shocked. They bill by the hour and charged us from the time they left their yard to the time they dropped off our vehicle, and then charged us for their drive back to their yard. I had another tow company come to our shop this morning to tow it to the repair place, and asked him what his bill would have been. His answer: $ 105-​$ 120. I called a couple more places and received two more quotes under $ 120.
Both of the Jake’s employees I talked to were friendly enough, but we would have appreciated a heads up that their rates were so high and that a 20 mile tow was going to generate a $ 250 bill. Not a very smart business decision on their part– we have a large fleet of vehicles and will never call them again.
Hopefully this post saves a few others from a bill from Jake’s that will cost them more than twice as much as another company would charge.
** When I called them to ask them to justify the charges, they just said it was a usual bill for them and nothing out of the ordinary. In fact, their hourly rate is usually much higher than $ 115, but they were «giving us a break».

A friend locked their keys in a running car and Jake’s Towing came quickly and professionally saved the day. Thank You Jake’s Towing!

I had them tow my motor home from Galt to Sacramento Truck Center in Sac. The driver was polite, professional, knowledgeable and careful. The equipment was first rate. I would recommend them to a friend.
