Description

Specialties

Our goal at Roller King is to provide our community with a safe, enjoyable, and healthy activity for the whole family.

History

Established in 1975.

Roller King is a family owned and operated business. Home of the Roseville Skate Club, which has produced local, regional, national, and world champion roller skaters.

Also the home venue of the Sacred City Derby Girls roller derby.

People always say the building hasn’t changed a bit since the 70’s but I can assure you it has changed completely. The original skating floor was blue cement (or is the correct term concrete?) the walls were orange, dark red, and black (as was the carpet) We had shingled awnings around the entire interior of the rink (Plus 2 orange and black cloth awnings). All the tables and counters were orange. Party room 1 was a smokers lounge. In fact the only thing that hasn’t changed are the green lockers and the brick tiles in the bathroom (which originally had no doors).

Meet the Manager

David J.

Manager

Born and raised at Roller King. His grand parents met while roller skating, parents met while roller skating, and his sister met her spouse while roller skating. Not surprisingly David met his spouse while roller skating. Former national champion roller skater, and 2003 Skater of the Year. If you are skating at Roller King you are likely to see him out on the floor skating bare foot on the orange plates that are normally attached to rental skates.

Graduate of Oakmont High School, Sierra College, and CSUS.
