Price? Great quality? Excellent I like to start my reviews with the most important things first. so I Used to drive By this place never knowing if I should go in. Well 2 years ago I did and I haven’t stopped coming back the price is swell and the quality is truly excellent when I go into other sushi restaurants they try to stiff me by giving me a tiny filled roll never with SUMO Sushi, always filled and always toped with fresh ingredients it is true that there is only 1 server, But they’re truly always on it and very friendly I’ll always comeback.

I like this place. The prices are great for what you get. It’s true that they usually only have one server but I haven’t noticed the service being too slow. I’ve been there more than 100 times in the last 5 years. I have been disappointed a couple of times with the sashimi but I generally enjoy the rolls. I’ve tried most of them and here are a list of my favorites: Lemon Salmon(without the garlic sauce) Sierra Roll Green Dragon Mango Tango Spicy Johnny Tiger

I actually went in search of a different restaurant, but got the area wrong. What a happy mistake! The sushi here is amazing! Friendly staff. Great food. What more could you ask for? Oh I know. Half off sushi rolls. Yep this place is a keeper.

What a great place! Amazing sushi rolls and the waiter was friendly and so patient with our big crowd. Made my visit with the kids so pleasant ;)

Tried Sumo Sushi recently for dinner as I was in the mood for some sushi and had not tried this place before. We ordered 3 rolls and Gyoza for an appetizer. Thought the food was good and the price was also decent for what we got. I can understand other’s comments about questionable service as it appeared only one waitress was working the entire restaurant and I can see where that could easily be an issues if the place filled up to any extent. Luckily it wasn’t that crowded when we arrived so our service was good — friendly and prompt(more people came by the time we left so it’s not as if the place was vacant in case your were wondering). You’ll probably be disappointed if you’re a sushi snob type who is looking for high end sushi, but if you enjoy what I’d consider pretty good sushi rolls and don’t want to fight the crowds at comparable Blue Nami, I think this place is worth a try.

After getting a take-out order every week for years from Sumo, we sadly had to take our business elsewhere as this place’s quality has gone way downhill…

My BF and I tried Sumo for the first time tonight. It’s a smaller place, perfect for date night. All the rolls are 50% off, who doesn’t love that. Everything we ordered was great, we tried the Roseville, Sumo, and Sushi Boy! Def coming back!

I’ve been coming here for quite awhile and they are my favorite sushi place. My husband prefers others over them but im always satisfied and happy! The prices are good, fish is fresh and the staff is friendly and helpful. They have a large assortment of rolls, and they have daily specials. They will make off the menu if asked. The place is clean and the attire is casual.

We came in here with the kids for a late lunch last weekend and were happy with the reasonable prices and quality of the sushi. We decided to share a number of rolls and everyone got an order or two of nigiri as well. Their special rolls were very good and we took our server’s suggestions on a few others that we also enjoyed. The Roseville roll stood out as being absolutely delicious. I ordered saba and sake as well and found both to be very good. This isn’t a high end place by any means, however, it is a good quality place that is reasonably priced. We didn’t run into any of the issues mentioned by other Unilocalers, but that might be because it was after the lunch rush. Regardless, we had a good meal and were happy with the service.

Wth??? I go in, sit at the bar – the bar stools are too short for the sushi bar. I move to a regular table. I notice it’s very hot in this place. I ask for s Sapporo, she says they don’t have beer! Really!!! Sushi without beer… and it’s hot in here! I left immediately!!!

This place has the worst staff ever! One waiter for the entire restaurant! I went yesterday, at 1230, I was asked by the chef«what you want«I told him very kindly I’d like to get some sushi, he said were not open quite yet come back in a hr. My question is, if you open business at 11, and your front doors are open, shouldn’t you be having business?

This is a little hole in the wall type of sushi bar but boy is the food good! I like how their sake-bomb prices are much cheaper than other places and how their rolls are always half-off. I’ve experienced great service here and also horrible service. You just need to get the right waiter/waitress. When its busy, expect long waits, like anywhere else… When its slow, its empty and you get royal treatment.

Went in today to have dinner… When the waitress only brought out one menu for both my boyfriend and I to share. No air conditioner going on a hot July night? We sat for a few mins and decided this was not the place we wanted to eat tonight. Got up and left. Very disappointed.

Sometimes, you just need to binge on sushi. This would be the place to make it happen without breaking the bank. It’s like going to a sushi buffet, but with BETTER quality! There’s Pepsi, not Coca Cola, but go ahead and give the melon cream soda a try if that tickles your fancy. The customer service is outstanding and I prefer this location even though it’s smaller and farther than the Fair Oaks one.

It’s not gourmet sushi but for the price it’s a great value. Half off sushi all the time. Its a mom and pop place and you see the same chefs and waitresses working. It’s not super fast service but there’s rarely a wait to be seated. My favorites are the Douglas and roseville rolls.

5 stars for my cucumber roll AND2 stars for service. This review is basically for the service. Food wise, It was good. The Asian waitress was quick on her toes to greet people coming thru the doors but does a poor job at refilling our waters. Just gave us our check without even asking. Observing I noticed the waitress seems nice and saying«thank you» to all the people who left after eating. But when my family got up(she saw us leaving), she quickly turns away. Rude… that just made my experience unpleasant.

Pretty good sushi at a reasonable price! My friends and I were in Roseville this past weekend and we were all pretty hungry. We were not interested in any of the other food in and around the shopping area and thought sushi would be a great idea. The sashimi we ordered(7 pieces) were pretty delicious and fresh. Loved the Philly roll and the Folsom roll as well. They were both yummy in their own way! All the rolls were half off that day(and probably every day) so that was a sweet surprise when we got our check. Two things that I would recommend to the restaurant and the main reason why they did not get a 5 star rating: 1) Add changing table or station in both restrooms 2) Sticky tables(clean your tables thoroughly as both my arms were really sticky by the end of the dinner)

I soooo wish this place was closer! I’m having a helluva time finding reasonably priced GOOD sushi near my apartment! I stop by here every so often on the way to and from my weekly D&D games, as it’s just around the corner. Very convenient and I’ve never had an issue with the supposed«slow» service. Of course, typically when I come there aren’t a lot of people inside. Always ordering to go from the friendly waitress, I’ve been pleased with the pricing and the tasty rolls. I like the avocu and rock and rolls, which together equal about $ 9 with the Half Price special. Other rolls I’ve tried have also been yummy. It’s not the tastiest sushi I’ve ever had, and the chef dude isn’t very friendly, but I appreciate a cheap take out sushi place with yummy food.

Not sure regarding the other reviews but my food was delicious. With half price Tuesday it was more than worth the cost. I will definitely return.

Sigh… overall I was disappointed. I didn’t want to be disappointed… but I was. Their rolls were overpowered by mayonnaise… I realize it’s a good base for many a sushi topping, but wow, it was like scooping it out of the best foods jar. I couldn’t even finish what I ordered… which is newsworthy, because this man finishes his sushi. The one highlight was their seared tuna appetizer. it was very solid… but I wouldn’t go here again.
