I have had plenty a good meal here, Not great but good and filling. Sometimes you just don’t feel like cooking. Ribs were pretty good. I really liked the sides great potato salad, collards mac n cheese corn bread. But it’s been closed for a while now.

This place is cheap, fast, and the food was excellent for what it is(good burgers and southern-style sides). We all really enjoyed the BBQ town burger, the fries and candied yams were outstanding, as was the mac & cheese. It was super cheap too, plus they deliver and accept gift certificates! As my husband put it, «I’m glad I didn’t find this place sooner or I’d be 50 lbs. heavier.» True that!

ok, very ok. pork rib, chicken wing and briskett was good. that’s it. good. not great. not bad. two unsmoked ribs were decent and good sized. chicken wings were nicely grilled with crispy skin. brisket was actually smoked. nice pink inside with slices grilled afterward. very tender and good layer of fat. chicken and brisket were definitely winners. sides of mac n cheese and coleslaw ok. mac n cheese was essentlly kraft mac n cheese. like kraft, you will love this mac n cheese. cole slaw most likely came from a truck. inhospitable but not rude service. decent food for cheap. the triple platter was under $ 14. Need to return for the fried chicken!

Big-ass juicy burgers, with pretty good french fries — and they deliver. They DELIVER. Now, I haven’t read any other reviews, but I ordered through the Seamless app. The estimated delivery time was 45 – 60 min(which I didn’t consider bad since I was ordering at 12ish PM), but they came to my house pretty much in 20 minutes. It tasted«fresh,» for however fresh fast food can taste. Don’t know much about their business practices, but I had a decent experience and a good meal come. You have to spend around $ 10 bucks for a delivery, so make sure it’s a good order in any case.

Not great but not bad… I’ve heard and read many complaints, but I’ve never got delivery so i can’t say that I’ve seen how slow they can be. I like their pulled and smoked meats, I really do. The sauces are okay, but some things are just not right. Take the pricing. For the same price I can go out to a nice, sit down and get served type of place; not takeout. I know there’s a lack of good BBQ in Boston, but normal supply and demand economics do not apply. If you charge an arm and leg for okay food, people won’t keep coming; they’ll just stop. and nobody wants that; do they? I’d suggest cleaning up your act a little bit, BBQ Town. Maybe start to make the sauces on your own; don’t charge as much for food that’s not as fresh as your prices would elude to. Start locally sourcing produce and make your sides yourself. Do not store foods longer than they need to be, and honestly, business and user reviews will get better. I’m on your side; I think you have an opportunity to shine. There’s not a lot of food like this around so you could really steal the show if you just listened to your customers. Do so and you will be rewarded…

We ordered through Foodler and it took about an hour from Roslindale to JP. Buffalo wings were super hot but good, corn bread was ok. Scallops and ribs were ok but two sides had been forgotten but it could have been an issue with Foodler ordering because it didn’t show up on our email receipt even though we added it. We called and they were very nice and the driver that had to come back was really nice about it. Candied sweet potatoes were my favorite, 4 stars for customer service, thanks BBQ town!

The food is edible, but not great. When I get BBQ ribs, I want tender meat that falls off the bone. This stuff was dry, flavorless. We ordered with a gift certificate, so we ended up paying about half price, so we couldn’t be too disappointed. But I won’t be coming back.

If I could give this«restaurant» zero stars I would. This place serves the worst food I have ever been unfortunate enough to taste in my entire life. Absolutely, sickeningly disgusting. NEVERORDERFROMHERE. My roommate and I got delivery one night. He got the BBQ ribs with a side of Mac n Cheese and tostones, I got the half chicken with a side of potato salad and a side of stir-fried veggies, as well as some Italian ice. The food arrived in a timely manner but what we got was foul… Half chicken — inedible. Dry, hard, chewy and covered in a thick, sweet, coagulated«BBQ» sauce(barbecue my ass) Potato salad — I don’t know what this was but I’m pretty sure there weren’t any potatoes in it. Milky, rank slop Stir-fry veggies — these were clearly from a frozen value bag, you could see the tiny cross-hatch pattern all over every single vegetable and they looked and tasted like plastic Pork Ribs — tough, dry, covered in the same yucky BBQ sauce that was on my chicken Tostones — dry, bland Mac n’ Cheese — neon(and i mean NEON) yellow and complete mush. This s*@# made Easy Mac look like 5 star cuisine, I’m not kidding I literally took one bite out of each component of my meal, closed the box and threw it in the trash. My roomie was so ravenous he tried his best to eat as much as he could stomach, made it about halfway though, then threw up. He went to bed he was so ill and I sat, stomach rumbling, eating some Italian ice(the only edible thing we got) and mourning the $ 30 we just pissed away on poison. This place should be shut down. I cannot believe that anyone on the planet could serve up this stuff and call it food, never mind charge people for it. Never go here. Ever.

I was tricked by the name. i thought a name like BBQ town would have the best BBQ there was to offer. I was very wrong. I think I could open my own spot from my kitchen. The portions were small and the food wasn’t good. The side dishes tasted like canned food. I got very excited when I saw rice and beans as a side, come to find out it was rice with mixed veggies with some heated up black beens on top. I will visit BBQ town again nor will I recommend it to anyone.

Ohhh if you want soul/bbq food favorites, order from here. Pulled pork, collard greens, mac & cheese, potato salad, out of control. Chicken wings & ribs, as well. Yum. Pizza = Very good. Fried popcorn shrimp & clam strips = Also pretty good, not amazing though. Cheap for Boston, too. Fairly speedy delivery. Never been to the place in person. Give them a try.

are they kidding? bbq town? a name like that suggests a dreamy, delicious meal. i(excitedlly) ordered pork chops with a side of fried plantains and mashed potatoes. the pork chops were dry and un-exciting(hallo folks, the sign sitting atop your establishment is a BIG, GRINNINGPIG — your porkchops oughta be out of this world). the fried plantains were stale, flavorless mush(i had never before supposed there was a wrong way to fry goodness). i half-heartedly finished the mashed potatoes and threw the rest, uneaten, into the garbage. if i could, bbq town, i would give you no stars for building up such great expectations and then crushing them into pulp.

This place needs a name change. No place that serves such a poor excuse of crap for BBQ should be allowed to call itself«bbq town». Now, I’ve never had pizza, subs, salads or anything else here and i’m sure those are ok, which is why I think a name change is a good idea. But, when I see a place called«BBQ Town» I expect good or a good attempt at BBQ. 1) yes, someone needs to tell their cooks, if you’re not going to ware gloves you need to wash your hands or not touch non-food items and then food items. now, I got ribs, brisket, mac and cheese and green beans. The beans mix clearly came from a can, so will ignore that and move on. The Mac and cheese had clearly been there too long at too high of a heat on the steam table, looked disgusting and the flavor wasn’t much better. the brisket… ok, here’s the process… they take a plastic bag with a portion of pre-cooked(who knows when) already sliced brisket and dump it on what looks to be a gas stove with grates… they then burn it. This brisket was so dry and disgusting looking I broke off a small piece to try and my roomate did the same. not even their generic bbq sauce could bring it to life. it got dumped. Now the ribs… first they need to learn the difference between pork and beef, I ordered pork and got beef. second, same process, dump out of a bag that were cooked god knows when, then put into boiling water to warm up, then onto that grill… they are a welldone burnt crap when you get them. as said the sauce was a generic from whoever supplies their wholesale probably open-pit… I did manage to eat 2 of the ribs since I was hungry by using some bbq sauce I have at home. Does the meat fall off then bone? thats how over cooked these were… there was no bone! it completely fell out at some point. so please, if the owner/s of this place are reading this«CHANGEYOURNAMEANDTAKEEVERYBBQITEMOFFTHEMENU». You clearly don’t know how to do it, and i’m sure you can make a good business on pizza and sub/sandwich items that are less difficult to screw up. BBQ isn’t at easy thing(and I don’t mean burgers and steak tips). leave it to the pros. If I see a name change I may try it again, otherwise forget it.

I give BBQ Town three stars because it’s cheap and they deliver, and it is delicious in some circumstances. Allow me to elaborate. BBQ Town does not serve BBQ. Once again, it is a flagrant bastardization of the BBQ name. Someone should sue these people for false advertising. That aside, they have tasty treats like half BBQ chicken, ribs, and even a BBQ chicken pizza that was one of the best things I ever ordered from here. A pulled pork sandwich(which comes on what Northerns call a «bulkie» roll) is really mushy pork, in BBQ sauce, and should ideally be withdrawn from the menu. The sides are decent: corn on the cob, yams(with marshmallows on top), mac and cheese, and more. And a chunk of cornbread for good measure. The BBQ sauce is sickly sweet and there’s a lot of it. BBQ Town is a rescue operation that delivers hearty home-like meals when you’re drunk, craving American fare take-out, and live in Roslindale or Jamaica Plain. Your order comes with an odd delivery man donning a hairnet.

You can convince yourself you’re eating healthy at BBQ Town when you order the half chicken dinner with greens and yams(or your choice of a dozen or so amazing sides). And then you’re out the door for around eight bucks. This place is terrific, and yes, they deliver. And yes, the staff is fast and sweet. They have your typical fried food/pizza/sub shop stuff but their bbq and chicken is really delish. It’s more southeastern than texan-style bbq but I prefer that. I love their sauce. I can’t believe how cheap it is!

We both ordered a half rack of ribs, which come with 2 sides and cornbread and it was at our door in 30 minutes. It was the heaviest delivery bag ever! The pork ribs were huge, and fall off the bone, though quite fatty. Their BBQ sauce lacked punch so it wasn’t a flavor extravaganza for me. The mac n cheese was mush, but my dear seemed to like it. They have stuffing which has a lot of chicken in it — tasty though. The candied yams could’ve been a bit sweeter but they were loaded with spice, which I like. The cornbread was quite good — moist, sweet, tasty. The baked beans were definitely tasty. I’m sure we’ll order from here again, but next time I’ll order without the BBQ sauce and I’ll just put some of my own on there. The prices were good and they said«45 – 60 minutes» but it was 30 minutes on the dot for delivery. YEAH baby. They accept CC’s — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — – Edited to add: I re-heated some left-overs at midnight and it somehow tasted 10 times better than when it first arrived. I added a little hoisin sauce to my ribs and they were just perfect.

This is some good ol’ fashioned BBQ, hoss! The beans, cole slaw, mac’n’cheese all taste straight out of the south. Not like all of that super-sweetened shit that you find at a lot of place up here. My wife, from Texas, was impressed. The brisket is pretty decent and they are pretty generous with the sauce. All in all, if you’re hungry for some«comfort food»(that means unhealthy food, but it’s tastes really good), give it a try.

Went with a friend and split two meats, two sides, and a flan. I was sure I would like the chicken more than the ribs, but the ribs were delicious! We also had the vegetable rice(so-so) and tostones(YUMMY!). The hunk of cornbread was tasted but left uneaten — it’s sweeter than we like, and you’ll like it if you like it a little on the sweet side. We also had some sort of Brazilian soft drink that comes in a green can which was perfect for bbq. The pulled chicken was good, but the ribs were falling off the bone. I will likely go back.

This place is righteous for several reasons: first and foremost all of their food is tasty, they’re extremely nice people(Brazilians — even more Southern than Southerners!) the food is affordable and service is fast. They get particular props for having really great side dishes. Not only do they do right by Southern sides like greens, baked beans, macaroni & cheese, but they include several excellent Brazilian veggie sides and plantains. It’s rare and excellent to order veggies in a BBQ joint and not have the life boiled out of them. Other positives: they have a varied menu with BBQ, pizza, pastas, salads. It’s an easy place for people to order very different things and all be happy. They have modest but comfortable eat-in seating, easy parking delivery, or take-out. Ok, truth be told they probably deserve 4 not 5 stars only because there is somewhat better BBQ to be had in the area(such as Blue Ribbon BBQ in Arlington & Newton) but given all the other charms I had to show them love.

VERY good pork ribs. Beef ribs are also decent but not as yummy in my opinion. Ribs includes a big fat piece of pretty good corn bread. I’m not a bbq connoisseur, but this is where I pick up ribs to go with my pilsner. I’ve not tried any of the soul-food sides. The BBQ chicken pizza was not for me but might please someone who would like gobs of melted cheese whipped into copious quantities of BBQ sauce all poured over a piece of round crust with chicken pieces blended in. But really, LOVE the pork ribs from this place… haven’t found better.
