DO NOT GO HERE. I brought my car in to have the boots fixed, per my dealer’s instructions. G&M ended up changing both the axles and the boots, which I did not ask for, and apparently used cheap, after-​market parts. Car started having weird vibrations and grinding noises the next time we drove it. Took it to another mechanic to check it, and ultimately back to my dealer– where I now have to pay DOUBLE to undo this shoddy work! — and install not just boots but axles which would have been fine if he’d left them alone in the first place. NEVER AGAIN.

I brought my car to one of the owners, Maz a couple of times and found him fair and honest. Then he left and now the other owner George has taken over… My engine light went on right before my car was due to be inspected for the year. He told me for the fix and a «tune up» it would be over $ 500. When I told him I wasn’t going to spend that on a ’00 dodge neon he said he would scratch the tuneup and fix it to get it through inspection for $ 250. He wouldn’t tell me exactly what was wrong and just kept saying he needed to «go in and clean things up». I didn’t feel confident in that response so I told him I was going to pick it up because I was thinking about buying a new car. He proceeded to charge me $ 75 for diagnostics. I drove 45 minutes south to my old mechanic in my hometown who plugged it into the computer took a look at things and told me to drive it for 100 miles keeping the tank completely full and that should void the engine code– all for free! Low and behold that worked! Too bad I spent $ 75 at G&M for nothing, def won’t be back!

I’ve known Maz for years. I’m probably one of his most demanding customers. Despite the fact that I expect him to drop what he’s doing whenever I show up, undercharge me and treat me like a friend, whether I deserve it or not, I can say from experience that I genuinely like and trust the guy.
Skeptical and hard to please from day one describes me but he puts up with me season after season. Not only does he put up with me, he goes the extra mile.
What I want from an auto repair shop is simple, charge me based on the time you spend working on my vehicle, don’t gouge me for parts, pay attention to detail, stand behind your work, and justify your pricing. That’s a tall order because it’s hard to find.
I don’t hesitate to recommend Maz. If you’re like me, trying to keep an older vehicle on the road this is a great shop. You deal directly with a master mechanic, not a service writer trying to sell you a bill of goods.
The shop is on a route with several buses that run directly to and from Forest Hills on the Orange Line.
