I had heard this place had really good wings(on special on Mon and Weds) and finally set a plan to meet a co-worker there for happy hour. He had to cancel, but once I’ve got myself primed for wings nothing else will do, and so I brought my wife and 2.8 year old instead. I figured it had a kids menu so why not. It’s not rough or filthy or anything but it certainly isn’t a family-type atmosphere, at least on a Wednesday. That’s not a ding on them or anything, just making a note of it. What was really bad, however, were the wings. The buffalo sauce was actually quite nice(thus the two stars instead of one) but they were fried to a jerky-like consistency. Also, there was a lot of variability in size, making the smaller ones essentially inedible(except for the outer ¼ inch where the sauce had managed to permeate). Few measly celery and carrot sticks on a large order. Blue cheese was good. There’s no servers and after sitting there for a few minutes I noticed a sign saying order at the bar. I put in an order for two batches of wings and the bartender asked me «small or large?» I assumed the large($ 14) order were the ones on special for $ 5.95. Nope, their«big deal» is a couple bucks off a small order. The bartender could have clued me in on that. Second, I ordered a kids cheeseburger and he made the order for a full-sized one. He saw me walk in with a kid. Again, he might have asked. Finally, the Yeungling my wife had and the Sam Cold Snap I had both had that«we never clean our lines» nastiness to them. Guess I know why all the regulars were drinking bottled beer. I asked my wife whether I should go complain about stuff but she said«No, let’s just pay, leave, and never speak of this again.»

Came here during a Pats game. Quick service, got the steak tips with fries and I was happy. I was happy with the crowd. Bar was full and everything else was empty. Good spot for food or drinks.

This place is amazing… I love everything about it including the food, drinks, music, etc. All servers/bartenders are great except the one blonde who can be pretty rude to customers especially girls.

Nice unpretentious local water hole with food portions large enough to feed a small nation. An order of fried pickles was astonishingly large; so much so that one person could not finish it except it was so good I did! They pour a good solid glass here. Service is prompt and friendly, the atmosphere warm and inviting and the conversation interesting. Do not let the local pub atmosphere fool you; the guys«loudly» discussing politics where extremely well informed as well as entertaining. Nice spot with easy parking and reasonable prices.

Kelleher’s Bar and Grill is good for what it is; namely a local, neighborhood pub. Kelleher’s has a pretty good selection of food and the cheeseburger club & fries I had for lunch was decent. I would like to see Kelleher’s expand their beer menu by offering foreign beers(German, Italian, and/or Belgium). The atmosphere is your standard neighborhood bar setting. There is a good size bar area with enough large TVs to allow for viewing from almost anywhere you are sitting or standing in the main bar area. In addition to the adjacent dining area, I understand Kelleher’s has a function room. Kelleher’s seemed clean and lacked that dinginess & dankness that seems to accompany most local waterholes. Service was good. I thought my bartender was friendly although she overcharged me with a drink I did not order(which she promptly removed once brought to her attention). I will definitely be going back to Kellehers.

This is a great place to go and swill a few beers and eat basic bar food. The service is always prompt and occasionally there is live music.

Perfect local bar and comfort food. Great prices, friendly service, very tasty. It’s not fine dining, but it’s not supposed to be. This is the *perfect* dive bar. We had the buffalo chicken dip, cheeseburger, and pizza, and all of it was awesome. Super thin crust bar pizza perfectly cooked, the kind that’s tough to find around Boston. The buffalo chicken dip was one of the tastiest appetizers I’ve found anywhere, a real treat for wing fans. Check this place out, you won’t regret it.

went here for the first time last night to check it out. Heard great things, and have to agree. Can’t give 5 stars until I eat there. But drinks, staff, music, environment, etc was great. Big TV’s all around with different games on and Keno. Can’t wait to have dinner here.

I really like this place. Food is very good, varied menu, decent portion sizes and appropriate pricing. Friendly bartenders, plenty, perhaps too many(is that possible?) TV’s. The best part: they have a nice music mix and it’s not too loud. How many places do you go to where you leave with a headache from the loud music and shouting to be heard? Good spot — check it out.

We went on a Friday night and it was pretty brightly lit and dead, which was surprising. We were also both surprised at how brand spanky new this place looks — I guess we expected something a little more rough around the edges based on the location, exterior, and reviews. Do with that as you wish(I would have preferred a little dimmer and rougher). The beer selection was meh and our food was also meh. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t good either. Except, that is, for the wings. It’s the simplest idea ever but holy wow Old Bay wings are amazing. We both wished we had just ordered a giant platter of those babies for appetizer, dinner, and dessert. I also need to point out that the bartender was great — efficient, friendly-but-not-too-friendly. It drew in an odd mix of a crowd later in the night — there were some college kids quietly throwing back beers in one corner, some guys watching sports in another, then a group of fifty-somethings I can only describe as oddballs creating a scene and moving around bar stools. I think we’ll be back next time we’re craving some deep fried chicken but I don’t think this is a destination otherwise. There are just too many other places both near and far that outdo Kelleher’s on food, beer, and atmosphere.

Nice neighborhood bar with many tv’s, live music on the weekend. The bar is huge, rectangle style. On a very busy night didnt have to wait to get a drink, the bartenders were on point. Did not try the food but it did look good. It does have the local yocal element but aside from some inquisitive looks it seemed to be harmless enough.

So, maybe going to a bar on a Tuesday night isn’t the best way to get the feel for what the place is like. Or maybe I don’t give a fuck! So, I finally made it to Kelleher’s. It seems like you need to say that all drawn out. «Kellllhurrrrrrrrzzzzz». «Kullllllllhurrrrrrhhrhrhrzzzzzzzzzzthhhh». Sure, that’ll do. pig. In any case, I dug it. It’s cozy and a bit bright. But man there are a SHITLOAD of TV’s. There’s not a bad seat in the house for sitting at the huge rectangular bar and having a few of whatever. It basically has the feel of Robyn’s, but over on «that» side of Rozzie, meaning opposite the side I live on. The taps are standard but good. IPA, Guiness, Blue Moon, etc… I’d like to go back when there is actually some shit going on, beyond a couple-three locals just shooting the breeze on a Tuesday eve. But I got a good first impression. The bartender was cool and just a chill couple of drinks was what I was in the mood for anyway. KALLLLAAHAARRRRZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!

I was laughing over how much folks LURVE this spot, so decided to go check it out. I think people’s passion for this place is really people’s passion for reliable, comfy, neighborhood bars — friendly bartenders, solid but predictable bar food, and some great people-watching. We went because I had had a bad day(read: BADBADDAY), and wanted some good cheer and buffalo wings, and we even brought bananagrams and set up at a back table to play a few rounds and cheer up, and it worked. No one gave a crap that we had brought games to a bar on a Friday night, and folks were friendly. And they take cards!

While living close to this place, I found myself here three days in a row. The bartender is really nice. The food seems to be expertly prepared. I have had burgers and salads here — for the price/portion ratio — you can’t beat it.(I recommend the garden salad with the steak tips — to die for) All in all, with one visit, I know you’ll be back!(they also have take-out service, too)

The perfect local watering hole for Rozzie. We recently moved to West Roxbury and went looking for a cool pub. We had been to other local spots and decided what we needed was something a little more low-key and friendly. Kellehers did the trick. The bartenders are friendly and polite, the crowd is local and usual, and the scene is decidedly down to earth. Bingo! My husband is now a regular and we even spent our first«Boston St. Patty’s Day» here… and it was awesome! Kellehers is now our local go-to spot!

Pleasantly surprised! My wife and I recently moved into the area and I was a little hesitant to try Kelleher’s but one day we stopped and were glad we did. The bar has a ton of TV’s with usually games on every one, a clean environment with a bar tender that took the time to ask our names and welcome us to the area. If you are in the Roslindale /West Rox area check out Kelleher’s for simple but good bar food.

Listen Deb, What part of Kelleher’s Bar and Grill in Roslindale screams out classy? Get over yourself. What shot did you order a kamikaze or sex on the beach? I agree with the owner — you shouldn’t have to «make» a shot — you pour a shot! I.e., if you want a shot of whiskey, fine; but if your shot has more than one ingredient it is really just a small drink — smahten up. As for the entertainment, they have like 20 flat screen t.v.‘s and it isn’t all old people. I am 28 year old professional consultant. It’s just not a yuppie bar — go to the South End if you want that. BTW — the buffalo chicken sandwich is incredible and the best part is they serve beer with those little glasses if you ask. Love that.

Kelleher’s recently reopened after a change in ownership I believe, is a very solid local tavern. It is a great place to have some excellent and inexpensive bar food and have a few beers. Numerous flat screen TV’s are positioned around the bar, making Kelleher’s a great place to take in a game. I visited today for lunch and left completely satisfied. I started with a cup of the soup of the day, corn chowder with jalapenos. The peppers added a perfect amount of heat for a cold winter day. I finished with a perfectly cooked to order cheeseburger with some delicious onion rings. I have given Kelleher’s a full five stars not because it is an amazing or unique spot, but because they do what they do perfectly. They pretty much offer everything you could want from a local tavern. The lack of pool tables or dart boards might be considered a negative, but it is not a deal breaker for me.
