Unprofessional experience.
There are many choices. This should not be one. Got estimate. Great price. You get what you pay for. No show the first time, worker hurt. Understandable.
No follow up call to reschedule. Holy ted them down, new scheduled appointment. No show at designated time. I had to call, workers delayed was the excuse. Never showed. Never called. Next morning, I called and they said maybe today. I canceled the service
Go with a better reviewed service. This was very frustrating.

Terrible service. Gave this guy 3 neighbors as referrals and the first appt scheduled they canceled at the last minute — after taking time off work just to be home — (they said they had an emergency) and on rescheduled appt time they were a no show. We finally called and canceled the service all together– case in point… When you see way too many rotten reviews. Stay away!

This company has horrible customer service! They don’t return calls or follow through on their commitments.
We contracted with Tomahawk to remove several tree branched from our property. When i called to find out when they were coming, I was told that we were second on the schedule for the next day (Tuesday). Later that day when I called to see what time they were coming, I was told that they weren’t sure and that they would call if they weren’t able to make it. I never received a call.
The next day when I called to inquire about what happened, I was told they had a big jump the day before and should be able to get to us some time later today. No one ever showed up or called.
When I called the next day to ask what happened, I was told someone would call me back in 10 minutes. I received a call hours later with another explanation why they couldn’t make it the day before. They said they should be able to serves my house later in the day. I informed them that we no longer needed their service.

A friend of mine at work recommended Tomahawk to me because the Owner Bob was a neighbor of hers and she knew they offered reduced prices for their services. Since tree cutting and removal is so expensive I thought this was worth looking into. I should have read these reviews before calling them. I’m having a simular problem with them as Christina did in 2013. They sent their crew out to cut down 2 trees in the front yard and 1 in the back. The guys backed their big truck with a chipper on the back through a double drive through gates that was very narrow. They must have backed into one of the gates because they broke one of the gates. When I called Mike and Bob about it they made me feel like I was a liar. They said that the guys who cut down the trees said they were no where near the gates. That is not true because when I got off of work and stopped by (This is a rental house I own.) I saw the truck parked in backyard and even spoke to the driver and tree climber. This guy was smoking a cigerette which brings me to another issue. The guys cut down the trees in the front yard on Monday but came back Tuesday to drop the one in the back yard. When I went by on Tuesday the neighbor told me they had been there that day. Nobody else had been at the house on Tuesday. When speaking to the neighbor, she asked me what was burning in the yard. I turned around to find a plastic trashcan that was sitting under the overhang of the garage on fire. She ran and got a bucket of water to throw on it. It turns out that the tree climber threw a lit cigerette in the trashcan before leaving. Had I not stopped by that day and the neighbor not been outside speaking to me and noticing there was a fire, there is no telling what other damage would have occurred. I told Mike and Bob about the carelessness but they did not seem too concerned. As for my gate… After reading all the reviews I do not expect they will fix my gate. Bob told me he would have to go by and look at it but so far has not. I expected to get good results from Bob since my friend told me he is a nice guy (She never did business with him.)but instead he was not very nice on the phone and made me feel like he was calling me a lier. Oh, Mike did tell me that they would knock $ 50.00 off of the cost (I don’t expect that would have happened anyway.) but then I found out that the gate and repairs would cost me much more than that. That’s when he turned it over to Bob. I even told them that we would save them money by replacing the gates ourselves providing they purchased the gates. I guess I will go ahead and eat the cost of replacing the gates and tell them what it cost. If they come back and give me a refund for the cost of repairs or do anything at all to make things right I will provide an update to this review but from what these other reviews show and from my experience so far, I don’t expect anything will happen. I am very disappointed in this company and would not recommend them to anyone else. They do not know anything about customer service and do not take responsibility for their crew’s mistakes or carelessness.

I own a couple of businesses in Roswell Georgia, the same small town That Tomahawk is from. I have used them 3 times and the first couple were good experiences. On the 3^rd they were late on 3 occasions to do the work. When they finally made it several hours late, the person who did the estimating was not present.
They were there to do some trimming but ended up butchering the trees instead, depite our request to only trim and to come get us when they arrived so we could go over it again. They had our credit card # so they charged us, would not return our phone calls or e-​mails. Considering we are a customer and in a small area
with lots neighbor businesses they could careless about even talking to us about this?

Bob, nice of you to finally respond to my Unilocal review, only 11 months after I wrote it! Bob, your explanation is much like your business approach, «The Customer Is Always Wrong», You have 5 Unilocal reviews, 4 of which were before I met you and your «Company» so it certainly isn’t me «stuffing the complaint box», all the reviews indicate that you and your business do not deserve any repeat business, good thing you are in the Atlanta market as it’s huge and you can burn 75% of your customers and still get new work… Keep lowballing on the quote though as you can only win the contract on price, certainly you won’t win on personality or charm.
In my review of your company I was totally factual, and in 11 months you haven’t taken me to court over our interaction as you said you would but I keep waiting as I’d have so much fun with you in any court.
Since you’ve been out to my property I have managed to steer maybe 15 clients and 10 friends away from your business, I know this may not affect your bottom line but it is a testimony to the power of word of mouth.
Bob, hopefully you change your ways in business and stop your hostile approach to customer service but if your approach is working for you then kudo’s to you but I think I’ll just avoid you and your «company»

We are only sorry we did not read reviews before hiring Tomahawk. Our experience was horrible and ended up costing us a lot more money than we were quoted. I am not going into detail because our experience with Bob was so unpleasant that the best advice I can give you is to stay far, far away from him.

The only tree service that will remove a broken tree for $ 300.00 while doing ONLY $ 6200.00 worth of damage to your driveway and walk away from it. My experience has been one of recklessness, unethical business practices, and unprofessional behavior. Don’t be sucked in by their 50 percent discounts… It will cost you more in the long run.

From my recent experience with Tomahawk Tree Service, my opinion is that it is a very shady company and is unethical when it comes to business. I too had asked for a Free Estimate and received a quote to sign. After signing the quote they now use their all-​encompassing «Additional Terms of Contract to Perform Services» on the backside as a way to trap you. Do not sign anything they hand to you!
After finding a reputable company at nearly half the price despite the 50% off «deal» from Tomahawk, I received the cancellation notice. I called (several calls until I spoke to someone) and was given a song and dance about the owners are located in Venezuela (even though their website boasts «locally owned and operated») and they will not cancel anything. Bob (who is the manager, I suspect) even told me about a church that signed the quote and they too were required to pay a cancellation fee… A CHURCH! In order to avoid going to court or dealing with a collection agency I paid a substantial cancellation fee for work that was never done. It was supposed to be a Free Estimate!
What makes it worse is I was a repeat client of theirs and I was referred to them by a friend of the local manager. I have spent close to $ 5K in the past 4 years with them and I was still threatened with legal action and that I would be turned over to collections if I did not pay their cancellation fee. Furthermore, after explaining this in a letter and personally delivering the letter (and check) to their office, I did not even get so much as a phone call or letter in return, only the cashed check from my bank.
This company and the person who owns it is a scam artist in my opinion. There are far more honest tree service companies with integrity in the Atlanta area. I caution anyone about using Tomahawk Tree Service.
