United States Postal Service – Roswell Postal Store

Great service! I came to ship sneakers and i just didn’t have a box but i had my tape and scissors ready to go. Lady at the counter gave me a spare box with no problem. Might not sound like a big deal but most post offices ive been to are hell ! Wonderful customer service! Wish i lived close to this location!

I came here on the recommendation from a FedEx employee. I loathe the post office on Old Milton, and I was presently surprised when I visited this location. They were short handed, but the two ladies I encountered working there were very helpful and friendly. They were also significantly cheaper than FedEx – $ 150 was my cheapest quote there… compared to $ 65 at USPS.
I may start coming to this location from now on.

The post office has a dismal reputation. They are slow, inefficient, and behind the times. The stereotypes are true, and no location typifies the problems more than this one.
I came in with a simple request. I needed a new lock on my mailbox because my landlord didn’t have a key. I went to the post office, put in my request, and asked for my mail to be held. This is where problems began.
First, the lines at this place are long and slow moving. It took me over 30 minutes to speak to a clerk the first time I visited.
Second, once you reach a human being, they are grumpy, nonchalant, and just as lazy as you would expect. After filling out all of the necessary forms, the Luddite behind the counter advised me to return in a few days to collect my first batch of mail. When I did, the same clerk told me there was no mail and she could not find my mail hold form. This was the same person who took my form earlier in the week.
She directed me to someone in the back, which brings me to my third issue with this location: There is no employee accountability. The man in the back confirmed there was no form and had me fill out another. I asked why the clerk had not done her job earlier in the week and he had no meaningful response. No one has any ownership of what’s going on, and when I pushed for a supervisor I was given a first name and a cell phone number.
The final indignity from this office was the scheduling of the new lock itself. They said it would be at least four weeks and they couldn’t even schedule me because they had such a backlog. I have to keep returning to this dump to get my mail until then. Well, assuming the mail is actually held there. It’s currently piling up in my mailbox because the staff can’t do their jobs properly.
This place exemplifies why the Post Office is a failing institution. The employees don’t know what they are doing, and worse, have no accountability for their failure to do their jobs. If they worked in the private sector they would be dismissed. As it stands, they are protected by layers of bureaucracy, seniority, Kafka-​esque procedures that make any meaningful change impossible.
I look forward to the continuing evolution of parcel delivery, and won’t shed a tear when these offices go the way of the dinosaurs.

The staff is nice, but rarely do they have enough staff up front when the line is forming to the door. Very frustrating!

This is the slowest post office in the nation. If you need stamps get them from Publix. If you need to send a package try FedEx or UPS. If you’re like me you’re stuck here because I’m mailing to an APO. Horrible!!!

Horrendous! The miserable woman with the shaved head may be the worst customer service rep I have ever seen. She not only yelled at several people in front of me but then reamed out an elderly woman for getting too much mail and not picking it up enough! Once the woman left shaking and with her tail between her legs, this horrible woman continued to rant loudly about why the woman needed to be told off! She then snapped at the next lady in line as well for making her repeat herself. She made everyone in line uncomfortable, including me. I felt like I was on a bad episode of «What Would You Do», John Quinones would be ashamed of me for not taking up for that poor elderly lady. My only excuse is this woman is completely terrifying!

I’ve really been impressed by my experiences of late. The counter agents are friendly and responsive, the self service options vast, and parking ample thanks to it being in a shopping plaza. They even managed to keep lines flowing during the holidays and all my USPS packages were delivered right on time. From dropping off letters or packages, obtaining supplies, or dealing with bulk shipments, these folks are better than most anywhere else! I don’t dread my trips here.

I can’t believe I’m actually writing a review for a post office, but I think during this time of the year, it’s a useful thing to have… and I have a quota to fill for the Unilocal 100 challenge :)
Anyway, I have been to this post office multiple times and I’ve always had a pretty good experience. They’re a little on the slow side, but when it’s your turn you’ll appreciate that they take a little bit of extra time to make sure you have all the information you need and provide you with the right shipping method for your needs.
I was there a few days ago and they had actually run out of stamps. That was a bit confusing. Either they had an unprecendent run on stamps that they did not anticipate or that was just poor planning. I saw many people leaving frustrated.
Anyway, of all the post offices I’ve been to, this is one of my favorites.

Better than the average post office in my neck of the woods, with more products, more space, but the same low-​level of customer service. They have greeting cards, which is something that I’ve never seen in a USPS location. Keep in mind that my hometown isn’t all that big and I usually go to the post office in Bagdad, FL instead of waiting for the human sloths at the main branch to get crackin’ and do some actual work.
Parking isn’t an issue, other than dodging the Mario Andretti wannabes zooming around like they are important people and have someplace to be. Watch for those nimrods and you’ll be fine.

Slow, Slow, and slow. Long lines with only a few counter folk and then it’s time for their break. Are you kidding me? Do they make it up with their helpful friendly demeanor once you finally arrive at the front of the line? Silly you… they seem annoyed instead. I haven’t seen this much huffing and eye rolling since I hung out with my teen daughter last week. What sort of archaic business model is this? Feels like a cold war era Soviet style bureaucratic office. Please stop taking tax payer money and advertising and sponsoring things. Benjamin Franklin would roll over in his grave if he saw what a travesty the Post Office has become.

This post office is located on Alpharetta Highway/​Mansell Rd. There is a huge parking lot, but since the new Salvation Army store opened, it seems like it is a little difficult to find parking at times.
This location is larger, and has 2 self mailing kiosks, which I use exclusively. I cannot take waiting in line, and I suggest you don’t either. But, if you need to, they have all the supplies you need, and the staff are helpful.
All in all a good post office location.

This is the post office I usually go to. It’s in a strip mall, so there is plenty of parking. I like the staff there, and I can usually get in and out in a reasonable amount of time during lunch. You can get passports made here too.
