Tequila Bar & Grill

I had them once when they were located in in Pfugerville and thought the same thing as I do for the RR location. Its good, but its not one of those «to die for» places.
We went last week, drive through, and ordered an American Breakfast for the man, and the Chilaquiles for me. He loved his breakfast, asked if it was from Kerby, lol. I didnt care for the sauce I chose on my chilaquiles, theirs anyways.
I WILL definitely keep trying more of their items, and will for surely be hitting up their $ 2.99 margarita HH from 2 – 7.

Great restaurant. Always very fast and great service. I’ve been here several times for dinner and breakfast. Fajitas are amazing and the drinks are nice and strong! Breakfast tacos are so delicious and the drive thru works great for picking up tacos on my way to work. Great prices as well.

Today 2÷12÷16 I went through the drive thru and ordered a burrito to enjoy at work. When I get to work I take my 1^st bite, set the burrito down and a live small cockroach runs out from the burrito! Needless to say I spit out the food, killed the roach and threw it away. Under no circumstances will I be back to this place. I was happy to see them in Round Rock and had enjoyed their food in the past, but this is completely unacceptable.

Had a doctor’s appointment in the area so I decided to stop and grab a quick breakfast before. First impression, nice building, nice ambience. Then our waitress shows up… now I know it was early but this lady was like night of the living dead. No personality, none. Propably not much of a pulse either. She took our order, food came out quickly but order was wrong. My boyfriend ordered pancakes, he had to practically beg for butter and syrup before they brought it over. The chicken I ordered was so dry I couldn’t even cut it with a steak knife. The flavor and presentation of the food wasn’t bad. But our waitresses lack of life really sucked the life out of me. Maybe on any other day and with any other server this may have been a 3 star experience, but not today. Not today.

I’ve only been for breakfast so take this for what it’s worth.
Good breaky, very tasty coffee, great refritos, good service, decently priced.
Will def try for lunch.

Peas and potatoes in the ground beef tacos. Never seen this before. Cannot say I liked it. The breakfast tacos are good though.

Why do they put peas and potatoes in their tacos??? Peas in ground beef us a joke. I get that peas are cheap, but i didnt want or pay for peas… last time i come here. Sad… sad…sad.

What can I say except I left the bar before I was even served. Pretty blonde bartender had me + 3 other people at bar and two tables. I arrived at 6:26pm sat and waited, then when I asked for a menu she gave one to the girl next to me (not with me). Then she started looking for a pen to take the girls order. HELLO! Can I get a menu??? I can look at the menu while you get your head out of your a$$.
Gave me menu. Went back to take other girls order but couldn’t find a pen!!! For the love of God!!! then didn’t ring any of girls order up and went over to make 2 drinks at service bar, still ignoring me. Well I left at 6:37 no drink and no food. My money is better spent elsewhere where I can enjoy my food and the experience.

Most of my food here was actually delicious, I just paid for it that night and most of the next day with an upset stomach!
This place was packed on a Friday night when we went. As is my luck we had just missed happy hour (ends at 7) which is why. We got a table near the bar area which in hindsight was a mistake as we were mostly ignored all evening — out of sight, out of mind I guess.
When we did order my fiancée was not sure of what one of the options were on the menu so asked the server for clarification. She didn’t know either, not an encouraging start when the server doesn’t know the menu.
The margaritas were on point if a little sweet but pretty good value even after happy hour.
We had a deal for a free appetizer with 2 entrees so we went with the guacamole which was really disappointing. It kind of tasted like it was from a packet and not freshly made 5 minutes beforehand in the kitchen. It lacked flavor, seasoning and texture — I like a chunky guac and this was way too smooth with no nice lumps of advocado.
I really liked my main of Carne Asada. Translated as fajita steak I naively assumed this was a steak fajita but there were no wraps in sight, it was just steak on a bed of onions. It came with the usual sides of beans (black or re-​fried, re-​fried were much nicer), rice, pico de gallo and guacamole. The seasoning on my steak was awesome and it was quite tender despite not being asked how I wanted it cooked. However, I thin this is what made me sick.
My fiancée had some tacos which she said were bland and disappointing. She too felt a bit sick afterward but not as bad as me.
With so many great Mexican joints around its tough to imagine going back here after this experience even though we live 5 minutes away.

I think this is my second time getting food from here since they took over from Taco Market? Or whatever the previous terrible restaurant was. The first time I got breakfast tacos and didn’t think much of them. My wife was craving a chicken soup and pollo Rico was out so we tried this place. The chicken soup was great. Ingredients seemed fresh and it was a good portion size. Usually chicken soup comes with tortillas though. None given here. We’ll be back for the soup though.

We stopped here on a Saturday afternoon and sat at the bar. I had the Perfect margarita which was a little on the sweet side for me buy there was definitely tequila in it. The salsas were good. We shared the chicken fajitas. The chicken could have been more flavorful but the onions were nice and cooked well. There could have been more peppers for sure. Prices are average. If we’re in the area, we’ll stop back. The service was friendly and pretty fast.

I have been here a couple of times, both were just ok. The place is not your typical Tex-​Mex place and food is kinds of bland, so because of that I gave it 2 stars. I prefer Tex-​Mex to gourmet and this is closer to gourmet, but has not reached gourmet status either. The first time I had the enchiladas, they were so so, I wasn’t really impressed and the beans were meh. However, with it came the rubber band that probably holds the parsley stalks together. I actually chewed on it and it freaked me out. I mentioned it and showed it to my waiter and he just looked at me, no apologies, nothing. That bothered me.
We tried the fajitas this most recent time and ordered the combo. The beef had a good taste although it was slightly overdone. The shrimp was not good, very rubbery so that tells me it was not prepared correctly from frozen. The chicken was bland but ok. Here is what got me; there was no cheese or sour cream provided and when I asked for more tortillas they charged me extra. They were willing to get me some cheese, but at an extra charge. There were about a pound of onions but only 2 bell pepper slices. Flour tortillas were good, corn was ok.
So, I think it is overpriced for what you get for slim pickings and extra charges for what I believe should be standard. Basically, this place is ok for chips and salsa, but overpriced for the other items. We had the fajitas for two and one kids menu item, water to drink and one order of sopaipillas. With the tip it was $ 45.00. I can get much better Mexican food for 4 people for about that or less.
PS. the kids were not impressed with the chicken strips, they almost wouldn’t eat them. I think they were bread crumb batters and fried fajita meat. Very strange.

Love Tequilas! The fajita nachos are my favorite and the charro beans are the best ever! Great customer service as well.

Good food I love it me and my family visit this place when We want to have a great time with a great Mexican food, My wife love the carnitas plate and I do love there Margaritas

Chorizo chicken. Fajita enchilada Both to die for!!! Love this place, it’s my go to! Super clean very well taken care of. Came during the week lunch and Saturday and both were great!

I’m not sure where all the great reviews come from but I’ll add my two cents.
First of all, let me point out that traditional Mexican food has flavor! This location haven’t mastered the use of salt and pepper.
I ordered chicken enchiladas, upon arrival my good was hot so that’s good. Hungry, I proceed to take a bite, my rice was bland and watery (please 1 cup of rice and 2 cups of water, that’s too easy) my enchiladas were ok, but the chicken inside tasted funny, like cooked yesterday, reheat today funny. Ugh. Ok.
My husband ordered fajitas, those appeared to be prepared correctly but again, bland! Dude, again a little bit of seasoning isn’t going to kill anyone.
Next, lol I asked to get me Sprite refilled; tell me why she poured water on it! I specifically said Sprite!
Anyhow, this is not real Tex mex, Mexican, grill, or whatever else you want to call it. I visited this location because everyone in Teravista praises this place, so I decided to give it a try. Not a chance, I will not be coming back.
On and please, clean your tables, chairs and swipe your floors after each visit if necessary, I get of touching sticky yucky tables! And, if your servers are going to smoke outside, please tell them not to cuss! I overheard someone on the phone talking straight trash (cuss words, threats, and other vulgar language) ewwww just ghetto! That’s the best description I could give.

This place was amazing! Great food and service! The décor is so awesome too and you cant really expect the inside from the outside. I will definitely be back when in Texas!

Best enchiladas I have personally ever had. I had a plate with three chicken enchiladas: chipotle, sour cream, and verde. Each sauce was impressive, but the chipotle was exceptional! Creamy and tangy, perfect in every way. The chicken was moist and light. I fear that I won’t be able to branch out, but oh well. These enchiladas are divine.
The black beans were good, my fiancé’s burrito contained yummy carnitas, and overall, I’ll be back. 4 stars since I’ve only been once, but if Tequila is consistent, that 5^th star will come easy.
Service wise, it was great. I’m a bit confused about all these reviews! Our server was super nice and brought us their award-​winning salsas (many), and the manager came over a few times to see how we were doing. This was during dinner hour when they were busy, so… ya.
The décor is pretty dang cool as well. Lots of dia de los muertos stylings. And other cool art.
Oh Round Rock, you continue to surprise me.
