Mediocre place to have dinner with family. My dad swore this place was the best for beef noodles and decided to take my sister and I here. The place was nice and clean; no customers inside. I ordered the Dan Dan noodles here because I was craving it again like usual :). My sister ordered: spicy beef noodle soup and my dad ordered: Beef noodle soup. Dan Dan noodles(3 stars): –Taste– mediocre; nothing special. It had THICK peanut butter texture I had a hard time swallowing. It had some green onions on top and thin noodles. Also, there were no small peanuts on top :(.flavor was a bit too bland in my opinion and I am not a heavy«salt/sauce» person. I totally agree with another person here. The noodles are Spicy Beef Noodle Soup –Taste-The beef was too hard to bite; very chewy. My dad also commented that the beef was not as soft as it should be to have a good«bite» when eating the noodles with it.(There goes his saying that it was supposed to be really good!) haha

Second time here. Go for the spicy beef soup! It rocks! Very strange though that they only had«warm» tea this time and that’s what I really wanted since it was a cold night. I asked twice and they ended up giving me a hot cup of water. Whatever. The people are nice and the food is better so check this place out.

The 2 stars are for their excellent and friendly service. The waiters are attentive, unfortunately their food is really mediocre to really bad taste, I couldn’t get myself to finish their specialty ramen(OEC), and I was really hungry. The OEC soup is only salty and watery, there is no broth and the taste of bone marrow in the soup, their noodle is nothing special and tasted like it’s from a store bought noodle(pre-made). We also ordered the taiwanese stinky tofu, sigh, such disappointment. It’s lacking the stinky aroma and taste, their preserved vinegar cabbage is badly marinated, and very bland. As a taiwanese/Japanese fusion restaurant, the menu item didn’t have any special one that stands out, also the food taste and quality is just not up to the standard yet. If only their food was better, it could’ve been a easy 4 – 5 stars for me.

Everything on the menu looked so good. But kid you not, looks are deceiving. My mama and I ordered their house ramen with extra noodles on the side and an appetizer of the spicy wonton. Spicy wonton was alright. Not very special. The house ramen with extra noodles on the side was a completely different story. Just looking at the noodles I knew it was soggy. Guess what? It was soggy, too soft, overcooked. The soup was very white. The soup was very bland and I shook out the shichimi pepper into it. I will not come back.

Tried the OEC ramen and it was great! They added a touch of garlic to the broth which I found new and delicious. The beef noodle soup was tasty as well but I was surprised to find the broth distill into two different layers(soup base itself and oil???) after having the bowl sit for a few minutes after I finished. The side dishes were mediocre; we were served undercooked Napa and tofu that was nothing out of the ordinary, but the grilled corn was buttery and satisfying and reminded me of the kettle corn at downtown Disney. Very friendly staff all around; they were very upbeat and provided speedy service.

Solid Ramen and other Taiwanese stuff. It’s hard to write a review for this restaurant because nothing really stands out. Tried a few items on the menu(pork rib ramen, beef noodle soup, etc.) and all of them were average to above average. Will definitely come back again. Price is decent. Food is decent. Service is friendly.

All in all, it’s not too bad. A good variety of items to choose from, though when you’re spreading yourself to cover that many genres, not sure how good you can be in each. My wife got the beef tendon soup, I got the dan dan noodles, and our guests got a fish over rice and a beef rice bowl that looks like the beef bowl from Yoshinoya. The dan dan noodles was literally a bowl of noodles with, at first glance, not enough sauce, and some green garnish with raw garlic. Mixing it up, you notice that it’s pretty darned oily, but hey, it contributes to the goodness. After mixing it for a while, eventually, all the noodles had sauce coverage, but just barely. Really wish they’d give more. Make it borderline soup style like at Dai Ho in Temple City. It was good. Again, a little on the oily side, but good. My wife seemed to enjoy her beef tendon noodle soup as the noodles had a good texture. With their complementary, eat as much as you want pickled veggies [suan tsai], it made it even better. The beef bowl had really fatty cuts of beef, so our guest was not happy about that. The other guest finished up his whole plate [fish over rice] so I guess he liked it. The service is. okay. Every time we asked for something, we felt like we were annoying the heck out of the servers, granted, they got us what we needed when we asked for it. Just felt like we were intruding on something every time we asked. The prices were fair/reasonable. Nothing out of the ordinary, but seemingly solid options. Colima has so many of the same options though, and at even better quality and prices, not so sure if rockstar can rock it in comparison.

Really good tea. I recommend the osmanthus oolong tea. Their noodles are okay but the main attraction is their pork chops in my opinion.

OEC Ramen or miso Ramen and passion fruit green tea is the only items I have ordered. I love the passion fruit green tea I get one for here and one to go. I wish the menu had more pictures so I’d know more about the rest of the food. Service is always good the server is always friendly and nice

Walked right in with my two kids. Not crowded at all for a Friday evening. Typical«small» spot for a ramen house. Is it an unspoken rule for these joints to be tiny? Service was great. Ordered the miso ramen. It was ok. But the winner for us was the spicy wontons. Whoa!!! Just amazing!!!

So I was looking for a place to have noodles and my friend recommended this place to me. They were advertising their OEC ramen as the best ramen around and saw the reviews on Unilocal saying it was awesome and must-try. The first sip of the broth was alright. Nothing I can’t make myself. Then it became 5 minutes of complete disappointment. The only redeeming thing about this place is the corn. It was pretty damn good corn. Friendly staff. Overall, I will consider coming back to try their spicy beef noodle, and definitely the corn.

Underrated… I believe that it’s a really good noodle house and decent service. More people should go to places like this if they want to get more authentic food.

Rockstar Noodle House is a locals spot serving simple Asian fare ranging from ramen to dumplings. It’s a great alternative if you’re looking for some sustenance to go along with your bubble tea. Spicy Wontons — In terms of size, this place takes the prize in comparison to A&J’s. The meat rolled inside were really juicy and they were cooked just right. However, the sauce, which makes the wontons spicy, was just off. It was lacking in spice and flavor. It was merely an oily dipping sauce. A&J’s makes a better sauce, so much so I always ask for extra. Chilled Seaweed — I like my seaweed with garlic. You can’t see it from my picture but Rockstar’s seaweed was marinated with just the right amount of garlic. They give you tons of seaweed too, so pace yourself! Spicy Beef Stew Noodles — You get a gynormo bowl of beef stew packed with noodles. This can easily be shared between 2 people. They seriously give you a ton of noodles. They slice the beef into thin slices with minimal fat. They add chili oil to give the stew that spice. The soup was way too salty but tolerable. If you’re looking for quantity over quality, then Rockstar would be your man. Rockstar is great if you’re looking for something average and simple. Their prices are a little high. My noodles were almost $ 8. I can drive a few miles to Q Noodle and get a way better version for less of a price.

OEC Ramen is spey delicious, rich in flavorful. Super yummy. :) Don’t be confused with their Chinese Churro. It’s actually Chinese Donut. But it’s still really good. It’s crunchy so that’s a plus. :)

I dunno shit about ramen… or popcorn chicken… or golf… OECRAMEN Not bad at all, decent broth, perfectly cooked egg, tasty pork slices, noodles were just ok… personally I prefer Daikokuya or Yukino Ya or Foo Foo Tei… but I’d come back here if all three of those places were simultaneously on fire or something. POPCORNCHICKEN Sadly, nothing special, even my son got bored after 3 bites or so. But still, not bad. MENSROOMLITERATURE Here’s an actual conversation I had with my 3 yr old son Beni after I took him to the bathroom. Beni: Papi, why are you taking pictures in the bathroom? Me: Cuz, your papi’s weird. Beni: Oh, ok.

Dad and I came here and ordered the Beef Noodle Soup and the OEC Ramen. The beef noodle soup was nothing special and the OEC ramen was definitely not authentic Japanese ramen. It didn’t have the rich pork broth taste. The meat was decently good and so was the egg. We also ordered the Stinky Tofu. Good but a bit on the dry side. The sauce they gave us was good though! Overall, it was ok. My dad saw it on the news so that’s the only reason why we came here. I wouldn’t come here again and neither would my dad :(

May 8, 2013 Oh my geezus… So my sister told me about this place a long time ago(roughly two years) when she worked in the area. I have always wanted to check this place out and this was the night! After working out at the gym(24 FItness in Puente Hills) on a chilly Wednesday evening, we decide to check this place out and come back on another day/night to EATTHEIRFOOD! muah-ha-ha-ha!!! But right when we walked into the venue, we IMMEDIATELY decide that«WE’REEATINGHERE». So I ordered their OEC Ramen… oh yes! Reminded me of FooFooTei! As a native Taiwanese, I love all Taiwanese food. The BF ordered the rice with egg, popcorn chicken, and corn. This reminds me of everything I love to eat… I am definitely coming back here for a very late night hangout spot or for lunch, perhaps dinner… hahah
