Burger Island

Confusing place. Do I have a waiter or do I wait in line? Order was taken pretty quick and drinks delivered. Waited 40 minutes before leaving, without a refill or our appetizer. Crazy. Went to Whataburger.

We came here because we’d heard the burgers were good and we assumed it would be relatively fast. We sat down, ordered our drinks and burgers… and then waited. Over an hour later we had not seen our waiter — no food, no drink refills. I saw him standing up by the food counter for ages, not talking to anyone nor waiting on other tables, so I approached them asked if our food would be up soon and if we could get more drinks. He gave me a blank stare and a «yeah???» and that was it. We did eventually get our food, still no drinks. Waiter asked if we would like ranch. «Yes please, and those drinks we asked for.» And that was it! No ranch, never got more drinks. He even had the nerve to ask if we wanted to-​go cups when he brought the bill. For what? We’ve had empty glasses for over an hour, like I keep saying! Definitely never going back.

Pretty good burgers. Onion rings tasted great too. I am a little upset that they didn’t have the option to JUNIOR size burgers on their menu here, and I found out about it by reading other reviews.

I asked for my burger to be cooked «medium rare» a simple request. The burger was overcooked and had very little flavor. I won’t be going back to Burger Island. Also, the tater tots were nothing special.

They used to deliver to us until now. We are 5.4 miles away and its «just too far» for their driver. Really??? Just lazy… they need more employees to answer phones & take pick up/​delivery orders. I get a busy signal most times I call. When they put you on hold, they just set the phone down and deal with people at the register and you can hear everything going on.

It’s been a while since I’ve been to burger island and its as good as I remember. The first time I tried the jungle burger was at the location in Sachse. I’ve been trying to recreate that burger at home ever since. I will return soon and more often!

We tried this place out Friday night for dinner, myself, husband and 4 year old daughter. We really liked the food and our waiter was good. I had the guacamole burger and didn’t love it, but overall it was okay. My husband had the double cheeseburger and thought is was great. My daughter had the fried shrimp kids meal, it was so good! I ate one of her shrimp and wished I had gotten it. You get a lot of food for your money here. We will definitely be back!

Burgers are good size for the price. I don’t eat bread, but the burger and toppings are filling. One of my go to spots for the area.

We used to order from this place. According to Unilocal we are 3.9 miles, but when I called to order I was told we were over 5 miles and they decided to stop delivering at 4 miles. Someone else got my business.

Good food. Got my salad order wrong, but it was good. They have the best onion rings and ranch dressing.

Massive burgers! In this case bigger is definitely better. While the burgers aren’t the most flavorful ever made, their sheer size and the great toppings really knock it out of the park. Not only are the portions magnum, the menu has about 567,391 options too, which is a good thing. If burgers aren’t your bag, try a philly cheese steak, a monster salad, or even clam strips. This place has everything, the fantastic variety saves what would normally be a standard burger place and makes it really unique.

This place has the best burgers I have ever had in any restaurant! My favorite is the kind I make at home on the grill. If I’m not in the mood to do it for any reason this is my go-​to place for an equivalent option. Customer service is great, prices are great and the burgers are amazing. Mmm, mmm, mmmm!

Great place to eat. Burgers are great, staff is good, place is clean, and portions are large. For 8.50 for my entire meal this place is amazing. I recomend to anyone eating here to stick to what this place does best… burgers. burgers. And burgers. This place will be on our return list.

One thing I will say about this place is that they have a variety of offerings on the menu if you’re not in the mood for a burger. I happened to order the chicken quesadillas. They tasted OK, but I could’ve whipped up the same thing at home and probably would’ve tasted better. They have sweet potato fries that looked pretty good and also onion rings that was thick sliced and heavily battered. Typical frozen food variety rings. I was with a large party of about 15 on the evening that I went and the young girl who was waiting on our party was very friendly and efficient so I have to give her props for good service. The prices are reasonable.

Fabulous burger joint! The biggest and juiciest burgers for an incredible price and the sides (onion rings are my favorite) come with big yummy portions as well! Definitely top recommendation for a nice place for the family to go. Plus the interior is pretty cool!

Took my wife to lunch and had a great meal. Big burgers and good service. Went back to get take out and what a difference. Waiter pointed to where I could give someone my order. Got ham sub and Philly cheese steak to go. Opened at home and was shocked, looked like a five year old made philly. Probably 4 tblsp of meat, onions and peppers. Not sure what happened, emailed my concerns to Burger Island and got no response.
Stick to the burgers and lower your expectations on service and you will be happy!

Yesterday, first time we ordered from here. Husband came home with two Jungle Burgers. Holy cow! I could only eat ½ of it. Tasted really good. Very similar to the Burger Extreme we had on the other side of town that closed down some time last year. Burgers are splitable! So are the fries.

I’ve never been to the place. Have had delivery only. During the day the food comes extremely hot & fresh. You would think we were at the restaurant eating. However, in the evening the food has been soggy and cold. I’m sure it’s due to increased deliveries. Either way the food is very good. Wide variety of choices too

What do people not like about this place, everything was good, tasty and great portions. Service was excellent place was super clean, and they are friendly. Prices are good and they even deliver. I have zero complaints.

I have dined in at this location, as well as picked up for lunch with coworkers. That being said: I definitely had an issue with service while dining in, but overall enjoyed the food enough that take-​out or delivery is an outstanding option for me.
The sign on the door as you enter reminds you how hard the wait staff work, and to remember them come time for gratuity. I arrived for my dine-​in experience at 3:30 in the afternoon with only one other couple enjoying late lunch. Numerous employees were toiling around, with one approaching me immediately, but after my order was taken and drink delivered, the attention given me was substandard at best. I wasn’t asked for a refill until my check arrived… and this was with hardly anyone in the joint.
Even still, the food was phenomenal and I walked out with an entire other meal.
With their service woes in mind, the next visit involved a take-​out experience with coworkers. The food was once again awesome, ready promptly, and superfluous. I said nothing of the first visit, and my coworkers were impressed to a T.
Warning: They do not scrimp on the fries or hash browns, people. I made the mistake of ordering a side of hash browns with my burger because I didn’t require a drink. This… side…was…ENORMOUS. I opened up the container, took a breath and a normal human serving from the side, then took the remaining three pounds and placed them in the break room. Mad props…
