Established in 1998.

Build from scratch by my late husband Frank Tingos who recently passed away and now having his legacy going by myself and a great team who is more like a family than co-workers. We take pride on our food, service and customers!

If are around Roxbury Ma, go visit back woods pizza shop, lots of options. You can have a seat and eat great neighborhood close to public transportation, red line orange line bus number 15 and 17.

All I’ll say is that they do pizza right. I don’t even mess around with pizza that often because I really can’t eat cheese but they make their pizza so that I’m able to have pizza. As of right now I can’t have pizza anywhere else. Most of places don’t seem to believe in tomato sauce which to me is a lot more essential to pizza.

Horrible food and customer service. They got my oder wrong and then they tried to blame me. They wouldn’t replace my sandwich and they wanted me to call back to get my money back. I’ll be calling BBB on Monday.

I have been looking for a really solid pizza place since I moved to Uphams Corners. I was told by a co-worker that Backwoods is really the spot.
I walk by with my dog all the time, from the window it definitely looks clean and appears to be pretty busy.
I ordered an eggplant pizza; the eggplant was good, fried, drained and skin cut off. The sauce was almost flavorless and the crust just left me disappointed.
The staff was super nice and the delivery guy was really friendly.

I’m always down to try new takeout, especially when it comes with rave reviews as Backwoods Pizza had. The menu that I had on file for them looked pretty pizza/sub take out so I had more or less ignored it because we have our address on file with a few other area delivery spots. But I went on a limb and gave them a call and ordered a pretty straight up pizza and order of wings. It did take them a while to find us, an hour that is. The food was pretty ok, can’t complain — the pizza was crusty but not tough and not very greasy — toppings were plentiful. The wings were pretty good, but could have been the kind you get at the grocery in the freezer. I did like the price and I will order again, but probably not until i’ve gotten tired of my usual spot.

This is the only pizza place we order from, mainly because it’s close and it’s not Domino’s. They have really cheap pizzas and you can get nuts with the toppings, and it’s super cheap. They have good crusts and sauces, and aren’t uppity. My favorite combo is to get a small pizza with… broccoli, feta, and jalepenos. yum.
