Independent taxi driver#0448 is sooooo bad!!! We took his ride one night, and told him where we were going, he said he knew the route, alright! we asked him to turn right then he just kept going straight, I told him we were taking the wrong one, and kept asked him to stopped somewhere and I’m going to take another one! He didn’t reply and kept moving under the tunnel till high way 93, then he asked me would like to stopped there or not?! Oh? Seriously? Ok! I asked him to stopped on the high way and called the 911 to come! He never did the apologize to us and we did pay him too, I feel so sad that I took this kind of bad experience ride with this independent taxi!!! And never again!

Called the service at 12:52 am and every 10 minutes after that! 2:00 came, still no fuckin taxi. 6 passed me with no one in them, I tried to flag th down but they just passed me with NOONE IN THEM!!! Just got home, 2:41 am, no thanks to this company. I walked home in the dark, cold rain. I will NEVER contact this company again & I will be making a formal complaint bcus 2 hours waiting for a taxi is utterly ridiculous.

We used their app to pre order a taxi for the next morning to take us to the airport. It worked great. I did call in the morning to double check. The dispatcher was friendly and assured me the cab was on the way. They send you notification when the cab has been assigned and you can follow its progress to your door. Cab 1156 driver 1291(sorry I do not remember his name) arrived on time and was very professional. The fare was as expected. I would use this company again.

The check engine light was on, tire pressure was low, driver did not have seat belt on. The driver was notified during the ride, but still insisted it was a safe ride. I’m concerned for the safety of myself and all the other passengers in this vehicle.

Took taxi 0877 from prudential to 1010 mass ave, Boston in the morning and besides providing bad service the driver of 0877 also threw a tantrum at me for not tipping.

ZERO stars. I put in my mom and my 20-​month old in the taxi. The seat belt did not work. Then I explained to the driver where to go, because of course he doesn’t know the street nor does he have a GPS. He says, I don’t want to take them and get lost (!!!) He had no clue how to get around Cypress Street in Brookline! So mom and toddler have to get out and now we need to wave another cab. I think I’m going to look into Über!

Called them this weekend after Boston Cab never sent anyone to pick us up. Had a cab at the house within ten minutes. The driver was reasonably pleasant. He told me the route he was planning to take to get us to our destination and confirmed that was ok with us. I’d be inclined to call them first the next time I need a taxi.

I was at the Revere Hotel on Valentine’s Day. My driver took every side road trying to drive Lansdowne St. It took me over 30 minutes to get to Fenway. We were on Commonwealth, Dartmouth, Boylston, Mass Ave at least three times. Never taking storrow dr. Always going around in circles. I missed my race for charity. I had a $ 30.00 cab fare. I even tipped 20% even though my driver didn’t deserve it. Never use independent cab. I told my hotel to no business with them. God luck with them in the future. Yeah right. I took the T home in the blizzard and got home in minutes. Oy Vey.

Terrible. Taxi #19 835 picked me up in downtown Allston area, and I told him I was going across the bridge to Lower Allston. He drove about half a block with me in the cab, and then said, «Oh no. I’m going to Boston.» Stop me if I’m wrong, but isn’t the whole point of a taxi to take the paying passenger to where THEY need to go? That’s the entire basis of your job! And my house was ON THE WAY to Boston! Well, because this driver rudely dropped me off, and made me have to wait in the cold for another cab (since I missed the others when he originally picked me up) I will never take this cab company again. Cambridge Ambassador or Bay State is the way to go. Avoid this company, unless you want your driver to throw you out because he decides he doesn’t like your destination.

Worst customer service I have experienced in years. I called for a woman with a cane and a four year old child from our school on a 90 degree day. I specifically told the operator we were on the rest of the building. They called to say they arrived. When we went out they weren’t there. I called back and explained where we were. She said he’d be there in a minute. I called back when no one showed up. The woman put me on hold and then a man came on yelling at me saying his guy got a ticket and that we never told them we were in the rear and that they don’t go to the rear and they are not sending anyone else. I told him this is not how you treat paying customers. He said «what are talking about lady» and hung up on me. Really?! No wonder über is doing better with business. What a horrible experience. Ended up taking a gypsy cab. Cheaper and nicer. I will NEVER use and independent taxi again. They just lost two customers and a future customer.

Today, you get an F. Normally, your cabbies are great though your dispatchers could use some courtesy training. Today, not only was your dispatcher the usual unfriendly, but also unapologetic. And your cab didn’t show, even after a callback after 15 minutes. I left after 20. A callback at 30 minutes? That my cab is waiting for me? No wonder Über and the other services are taking your business!

If I could give zero stars I would. Called at 7pm, 7:20pm, 7:30pm and 7:45pm. The 7:30 call said the cab was going to be there Ina minute be ready. The 7:45 call, I was told our cab took a hail down and screwed us. We never got a cab. We had to walk to our function in the cold and rain.
This is the second time I’ve ordered from them and the second time they’ve screwed me. Never again. Thank god for Über.

Getting a cab in Boston isn’t fun — pretty much most of my Taxi horror stories are from Boston due to the mainly 3^rd world drivers who barely speak English, act like this is their first time in Boston and constantly try to rip you off coming in from Logan. That said, in the case of tonight, the driver was drugged out /​higher than a kite.
I was picked up in Back Bay and clearly stated I wanted to go to the Westin at 425 Summer — next to the Boston Convention center. He then tried driving me to the Copley Westin and when I saw where were were going and told him this was the wrong hotel, he said «oh, the one near the convention center » — which I said to him something like 3 or 4 times «the Westin next to the Boston convention center». It was very hard to understand him since he sounded like he was either about to go to sleep or had just woken up.
Finally we get near the convention center and he pulls in front of it. I tell him he needs to go up to the light and turn into the Westin, for which he says «oh, you are staying at the Westin? — I thought you wanted to go to the convention center»… again, he was CLEARLY out of his mind. I got to the Westin then I had to explain to him that he needed to turn the meter off so that I could pay per CC — then when it came time for the receipt, he did something to the meter where I couldn’t get a receipt and then after 60 – 90 seconds of him rummaging around in the cab looking for a receipt, I just got out.
I filed a complaint with the Boston PD taxi office, will see if anything happens. The taxi ID was 1767.
I come to Boston once or twice a month and in 2 years of coming here haven’t found a taxi service that is reliable, let alone competent or friendly. This however, was the worst experience I’ve had.

Worst experience I’ve ever had with a cab. I hailed a taxi for what should have been a 10 minute ride, from Brighton to Cambridge. When we passed Cambridge and started heading toward Fenway Park, I told the driver that we seemed to be going the wrong way… he assured me that we were going to Cambridge. Then I started seeing signs for Chinatown, and then Logan. I continued to tell him that we were going the wrong way, and he just nodded. Finally, I insisted that he stop and check his directions.
Forty minutes and nearly $ 40 later, I finally arrived in Cambridge. After paying him, I told the driver that I would be contacting the cab company to contest the fare, to which he just nodded and said, «Okay.» (He seemed to speak English just fine – didn’t seem to be a language issue).
I contacted Independent Taxi Operators and requested to speak with someone about the ride. Never got a response.
Disgusted with this whole experience. Will never use this company again!

Absolute crap company. I called this morning at 8:47am asking for a cab to Back Bay. I didn’t get an update of how long my cab would be, they just abruptly said it’s on its way and hung up. At 9:05 I called to very politely to ask for an update on my cab. I was told they didn’t know the location (how do you not know the location of your drivers) but it should be any minute. Called back again at 9:12 to explain I had been waiting 25 minutes. This time I got a new person — a guy who at least seemed somewhat apologetic. He told me they’re working on getting me one asap. 9:20 — still no cab. This time I called to ask if I should give up and start walking. The woman I originally called said no, it will be any minute. And finally at 9:27, forty minutes after calling, I called to cancel and say I’m walking and never using their company again. I got an «okay, thanks» and the woman hung up. Real nice.

Terrible. Rude, abusive dispatchers. The drivers over charge and are reckless and unsafe driving on the road. When I placed a complaint to the
manager, he called me a loser among other terribly offensive things. I’d rather walk home than use this cab company. If I could, I’d give them zero stars.

Avoid this company for your own sake! They take the long way if they know you’re from out of town. If you know your way and question them about it, they’ll drive you further out of your way into the darkest part of town and kick you out of the cab.

Had to drop my old lady car off at the shop yesterday and the mechanic called these guys to pick me up. It was prime rush hour time so I was certain I would be waiting forever despite the «5 to 10 minute» standard promise. No more than three minutes passed before a taxi arrived, the driver was super nice, knew the area well enough to avoid the traffic and I was at work in no time.
After calling my usual cab company a couple times this morning and having nobody pick up the phone, I decided to give these guys another chance. One ring and a quick chat with the dispatcher and I was ready to go. About 10 minutes later I called to check on timing and the very pleasant dispatcher informed me that my cab was en route and gave me the cab number. Literally less than a minute later, the car arrived and I was off to work. This morning’s driver wasn’t as friendly, but got me where I needed to go and that’s what I’m paying for.
Would definitely use them again.

Want a cabbie who needs turn by turn directions and still messes up costing extra money to go out of your way?
Want a cabbie who picks up the phone you left in the cab, say he’ll drop it off to you, then never show?
Want a cab service who doesn’t turn in lost property unless you take 2 weeks off of work, call every police station, file a police report, call every day to the cab company, go into the police station in a suit and beg the chief of police to call in the cabbie for questioning, and then the cabbie finally comes in with the phone says he forgot he had it?
Then please grab a cab from the Independent Taxi Operators Association!
