Finding this place was like finding a hidden treasure… Full of amazing brownies!
Went here for the first time (of soon to be many) with some friends and tasted their Oreo brownie, Golden Maple Bacon brownie and saltpeter caramel brownie.
Each one was hands down phenomenal!
This place is a absolute must hit spot when in Royal Oak
And the maple bacon brownie is as good as its name!

Amazing All-​Brownie Wedding
If you’re like us, you’ve probably had wedding cake that was good, but nothing ever stood out as fantastic or memorable. Certainly no show stoppers. Don’t get me wrong, I like cake just fine. My fiancé/​husband likes cake. But we don’t love cake. The same with cupcakes that were all the rage a few years ago.
What we do love are brownies. Enter the Brownie Gourmet.
I had the good fortune of working in an office in Downtown Royal Oak when this gem opened in the summer of 2015. The owner, Michelle, and crew hand craft each brownie from scratch with real ingredients and lots of love. Diet food this is not.
While they do have your standard flavors like «Classic» and «Walnut», there is a constantly rotating variety of delicious creative options such as «red velvet» (because everything is improved with cream cheese frosting), «Cookie Dough» (brownie topped with a gooey layer of cookie dough), «Chocolate Chip Cookie» (the brownie/​cookie offspring you didn’t know you needed until just now), «Salted Caramel» (brownie + salted caramel) and my new favorite, the «Twix» (buttery shortbread base, classic chocolate brownie, buttery caramel and a chocolate ganache). They even have options for the non-​chocolate lovers – a caramel pecan «Blonde» and the citrussy «Luscious Lemon.» If you do not love brownies, you have not had a Brownie Gourmet Brownie.
Over the next several months, I tried every flavor, dropping by several times a week for an afternoon snack. (Feeling extra decadent? Have your brownie served as a sundae).
The Brownie Gourmet products were so good that I had my office use them as our vendor to send out holiday baskets to our clients. This was handled with the utmost professionalism. These were a real standout to our clients and we got many excellent commendations.
When it came time to plan our wedding, picking the Brownie Gourmet was a no brainer. I worked with Michelle to make our flavor selections. We went with a variety of petite brownies (cute little brownies in their own little cup), regular brownies cut into thirds and quarters and brownie pops (think cake pops but better). We had seven flavors of brownies, not including the brownie pops.
The Brownie Gourmet worked with our venue to design a custom display for these treats that fit in with our overall look and feel (you can be as involved as you want to be in these decisions; being busy and trusting the Brownie Gourmet, we went with a more hands off approach). The Brownie Gourmet handled the set up, and the display was stunning, down to the finest of details. It was a show-​stopper. Not only did the brownie station look fantastic, it smelled wonderful (a testament to the freshness) and tasted amazing. We received (and continue to receive) excellent feedback about the brownie station. I had high expectations of the Brownie Gourmet and these were exceeded. I highly recommend the Brownie Gourmet for any wedding or event where you really want to impress your guests with an opulent display and rich, decadent treats. Five stars is not enough.

I was looking for a bakery that sold gourmet brownies. I found this place and drover over half hour to get there. It was worth the drive. If you use Unilocal,you may get a discount. Also, you can call to see their daily brownies. I will return.

The brownies here are gorgeously delicious. Rich, thick, moist and comes in variety. If I was reviewing only on the brownies, I would have given 4 stars. Unfortunately, I don’t find the price quite agreeable. $ 4/​$ 4.50 for a small piece of brownie seems a bit too much. Also, the interior is odd. It has a good enough space for people to enjoy coffee and brownies, maybe read books, study or work. But the place looks like the owner just randomly put some pieces of furniture and it doesn’t seem inviting enough to chill and relax. Don’t get me wrong. The brownies are beautifully displayed. It’s just the rest of the space that looks odd.

This is the best brownies around. I had one made for my graduation and it was the bomb. All of my friends from Douglas J Aveda would always brag about the awesome brownies. My god sister got a brownie cake for her daughters birthday last year. The customer service is great. My birthday is coming up soon. Got get me a large brownie cake.

Cute, quiet spot. I shared the German Chocolate Cake brownie with my husband and it was absolutely delicious. Whenever I need my brownie fix, I’ll be sure to visit this place. Looking forward to trying other flavors.

Fantastic! The brownie was unbelievable– rich and perfectly flavored — and the staff was super nice. I’ll definitely be back!

Every once and a while my lady surprises me with a brownie from here on her way home from work, they are always amazing, i cant choose a favorite brownie, i like them all !!

We went here for a treat and it’s so so. The lady behind the counter was late coming to aid us even though there was not anyone else in line. She was clearly on something as she could not stop laughing and smirking. It felt uncomfortable. We tried the lemon and the standard chocolate. The chocolate brownies are a bit dry. It would have been much better if it were moist. The samples she gave us were very small too; smaller than a teaspoon size. These samples were taste test samples; not the actual brownie square was purchased. Meh, is how I felt after leaving here. I’m not sure I will be back to buy a square for nearly $ 5!

We were recently in a bind and needed a TON of baked goods in a short timeframe for a charity event. I called several bakeries in the area inquiring about their inventory and Brownie Gourmet was the first to say, «if we don’t have what you need, we will bake it.» Hot damn! Go ahead and take my money!
Luckily it seemed as though they had enough inventory and set to pulling and cutting 100 brownies into 400 pieces for us for pick up in less than an hour. Several places we called seemed overwhelmed by our request but BG was totally game and raring to go. No complaints, no hesitation. They packaged the brownies up beautifully and safely for transport. Once they arrived at our event space all we had to do was unwrap them and put them out for the guests to enjoy. No muss no fuss.
As for the brownies? They were good. Damn good. We were given several flavors (pumpkin, caramel, lemon, etc) and they were snatched up by guests with the quickness. I’m a bit if a brownie purist so I had a piece (ok…several pieces) of the plain chocolate and it was delicious. Fudgy, dense, and full of deep dark chocolate flavor.
Amazing products and an even more amazing helpful and friendly staff. Yep, they have my 5 stars and my loyalty as a customer from here on out. Thanks, Brownie Gourmet.

When I heard there was a store dedicated to one of my favorite desserts right around the corner from me, I had to check it out! I stopped in today to see what all the buzz was about. I only sampled the nutter butter one and it was amazing. But at $ 4-​$ 4.50 a pop I really could only justify buying one and the new special flavor (EZ or something like that). It was a moist chocolate brownie base with a soft chocolate chip cookie layer, with a caramel layer and topped with a chocolate ganache. OMG it was delicious! I really can’t complain at all, it was moist and chocolatey and the ganache was the best part. Unfortunately on the other hand, I can’t afford $ 4+ for a small brownie very often :(

Excellent brownies! Lemon is so moist you won’t believe it. The salted caramel is delectable as well. You must get it heated and served with the «this just got real» ice cream.
We have been in twice and the customer service was great both times. They offer samples and will happily describe each choice for you.

With the trend of gourmet cupcakes fizzling out now, I think gourmet brownies are the next dessert trend and this place is going to start it out. I just happened to be walking around royal oak and then saw their sign. Obviously, because of my sweet tooth, I was intrigued. We got the red velvet brownie and the snicker doodle brownie. Amazing! The red velvet brownie was just the perfect amount of moistness win a light airy frosting on top. The snicker doodle brownie felt almost like a blondie to me. This one a bit of a crunch with some white chocolate bites on the inside. Will definitely be coming back to indulge in my sweet cravings.

Brownie Gourmet presents an assortment of brownies on display. Like other baked good establishments, they have a long list of flavors and select only a couple to serve every day.
My best tip, order the unique flavors and do not just get any flavor close to a typical brownie.
The brownie flavors that stand out to me are the German chocolate, Kahlua, salted caramel, lemon, and the s’mores. These flavors really stand out and are moist and chocolatey. If I could only pick two, I would pick the German chocolate and the s’more brownies because of their uniqueness.
Overall, love the brownies and the service. The owner is very nice and personable. I hate to take a star off but some of the brownies like the walnut and the mocha brownies can be dry. If they can fix this problem, I will gladly update my review and give them that extra star I so want to give them. I really really enjoy BG’s brownies and I cannot wait to try the red velvet.

We had hit up the Brownie Gourmet after a friends birthday party in RO… and while a fancy style of a brownie really does appeal to some people, I guess I was just kinda taken back by the hype that I had been hearing about the place. It was nice, quiet, and we were able to enjoy our brownie… but it didn’t really seem as though the brownie selection was as plentiful as it should have been. There were only a few to choose from, which might have just been because of when we had came there. Everyone said their brownies were good. but nothing really to write home to mom about.

Omg Becky look at those brownies they are SO good! Seriously though… these are some great brownies! We tried the smores and cookies and cream brownies which were delicious! We also sampled a snicker doodle blonde brownie too and it was very light! Customer service was great and workers were so friendly! It was our first time there and they told us all about their goodies. They also have ice cream from Wisconsin and coffee. Can’t wait to go back and try something else!

Excellent brownies! I had the almond joi with This &@*# got real ice cream. The brownie is exactly what you think it is based on the name. The ice cream is an amazing combo of fudge and cashews in salted caramel cream. Top notch all the way around.
The staff is very friendly and helpful.
We will be back here — glad they have a loyalty program!

I took my after school yoga kids class to brownie gourmet as an end of school treat. They absolutely loved it. Very kid friendly place. Delicious brownies and the ICE CREAM– is seriously to die for. Salted Carmel brownie is my fave so far.
The people that work there are really nice, attentive and I love their Friday night live music too. Awesome place in Royal Oak:) way better than Fro-​Yo!

I’m sorry. I just don’t get all the 5 star reviews.
Trust me. I love a good brownie. I actually work just down the street from here and was anxiously awaiting their opening for months! The first time I came in I ordered 2 brownies. The lemon and their regular chocolate fudge brownie. The lemon was ok — a bit on the dry side but it was tasty. The chocolate was nothing special. Once again, on the dry side and just nothing that would entice me to come back. I honestly feel like I have had better boxed brownies.
I am all about a mid day brownie break from work but sadly I was just not impressed. Sad times.

We waited literally all Winter for the Brownie Gourmet to finally open, and let me tell you, it did NOT disappoint. One of my favorite places in Michigan. You will be surprised by the ambience and chic décor, but it is spacious and elegant without feeling stuffy and cold. Bring your friends or a sweet date and enjoy the live jazz on Friday evenings. Best brownies I’ve ever had with gluten-​free and allergen-​free options upon request. So hard to pick just one favorite, but be sure to try the lemon brownie and the german chocolate. And if you see red velvet (which is a rare treat), grab two and thank me later! I enjoy my german chocolate brownie warm and with ice cream!
