History

Established in 1934.

Chinn Jewelry was founded in 1934 in Highland Park, Michigan. When the business grew, it moved to Royal Oak, Michigan and has stayed there ever since.

Chinn Jewelry is your family jewelry store. Gayle Chinn, co-​owner with his son, Wayne, and the staff have one goal in mind: a happy customer.

Customer service has been Chinn Jewelry’s mainstay. While other stores come and go, Chinn’s has not only survived, but prospered, because the customer truly comes first.

Father and son Gayle Chinn and Wayne Ward are co-​owners of Chinn Jewelry. Gayle’s father started Chinn Jewelry in 1934. Wayne is a resident graduate of the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). Wayne appraises for insurance companies throughout Michigan as well as estate jewelry appraisals for clients and law firms.
