Outstanding! After a negative experience with another local jeweler, I decided to try Miners Den to design/​make a custom wedding set. From day 1 my experience was fantastic. The consultant I worked with, Leigha, was so friendly and helpful, and both she and the head designer went above and beyond to work with me and all my very particular ideas (suffice to say I had a very definite idea of what I wanted and am not exactly an easy customer). The finished product exceeded my expectations in every way, and I couldn’t be happier. Great service, reasonable prices, and an exquisite outcome. I HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone looking for engagement rings or custom jewelry design. Thank you SO MUCH to Leigha and the Miners Den team!!!

After looking at a bunch of places in Chicago & not being satisfied w/​any of them feeling like they were all «cold», my now fiancé and I looked up places in metro Detroit to go check out when we were home for the holidays. We read this was one of the best and that they could make anything from an image etc. we went and met w/​Tilla. She was incredibly helpful and very thorough in walking us through the process. She showed us 8 different diamonds and point out every detail in each one. Then we showed what we wanted and how we wanted to do it, she assured us it could be done. When I picked up the ring, I was blown away. They far exceeded our expectations. It turned out better than we hoped or imagined. After my experience, I wouldn’t go to or trust any other jeweler. I know it’s local, family run and has been in the area for years but … if they don’t smell money on you be prepared to wait. Today while I waited and observed three staff members in front of me looking at various customers to be sure they were waited on. Hello! As I began to walk away after standing for several minutes …“oh have you been helped?” Yes, you reminded me why I am on now on my way to Diamond Jim’s in Madison Heights. Thanks again ladies.

Kind of disappointed. Went in to check out the store and the Big Bang diamond they advertise. They have a nice selection of merchandise and I had found at least 4 things I was interested in buying, but there was no one to wait on us. No one even acknowledged we were there. We walked the entire store and looked at everything. More than enough time for someone to say hi. You would think this close to Christmas they would be better staffed. Having worked in retail my entire life I value customer service. There was none here

Norman is simply a gem. He helped me pick out Christmas gifts for friends and family and could not have been friendlier in doing so.
Aside from Norman, the store itself had an incredible selection of jewelry, stones, fossils, and many other random exciting things. It’s a great place.

Battery replacement in my watch was painless. Five stars every time!

Took my Michael Kors watch to have the battery changes. They took care of it while I was standing there and only charged $ 5 which goes to charity. People here are very nice! One thing I would like to add is that to be careful when changing batteries since my watch had scratches on the back that happened while trying to open the battery cap. But I still give this place a 5 star!

I cannot praise the Miner’s Den enough! I came in because my Geology professor suggested this store. I had a very specific ring in mind for my fiancé, for his wedding ring. It needed to be platinum, 6 mm, comfort fit and fit his very large hand! Everyone was so helpful, so kind. I found the perfect ring for him, I was not pressured to buy something more expensive or «fancy» (he wanted a very plain but classic ring). I will be coming back to this store again and again!

Top notch service with regard to quartz watch repairs. $ 5 in and out in less than 10 minutes. Staff is very polite and knowledgeable on haute horlogerie.

I couldn’t have asked for a better experience at Miner’s Den. I brought in 3 older rings of mine and wanted them designed into one ring and Natalie designed a perfect ring just for me. This was my first experience with them and was referred to them by a friend and I will always go back to them for my jewelry needs.

I went to get the batteries replaced in 3 watches. First of all, I looked like a super crazy bum but their customer service was amazing anyway. My 3 watches were fixed before I had the chance to drink the great cup of coffee they made me. I asked if a band could be fixed instead of fully replaced and they gave me a great response and didn’t try to sell me more than what I needed. I’ll be back! They had lots of pretty shiny things I want!

It’s a mystery why Miner’s Den is rated so high… perhaps it is based on what it used to be.
Growing up, my family and I purchased items there for anniversaries, birthdays, etc. As a little girl, i thought it was magical that they can make anything you wanted, like the layout of the store, and enjoyed the selection.
Now that I am an adult, I know better.
Went there on the aforementioned past experiences to get my fiancé’s wedding band. Selected one, ordered it, applied for credit card to get special financing. A Several days later, was contacted because the ring wasn’t available. Why sell me a ring that isn’t available? Shouldn’t they know that? Had to pick a new one at a different price point, and that was problematic getting the money adjusted on the credit card.
We also purchased an estate piece there. Resized it. The band was no longer round… strange. Cleaned the ring at home… the solder joint came apart. took it back to get repaired, they were suspicious of me knocking it against something. Reluctantly, they repaired their shotty work for free.
Kyle is super fun to work with. That is the only positive.

My fiancé and I had an absolutely wonderful experience working with Natalie to design my fiancé’s engagement ring. We both grew up in the Detroit area but live in New York now, so we had to do to all of the designing over the phone and email. Natalie was extremely patient and helpful at every step. We sent pictures and a description of the ring we wanted and then talked it over. Natalie then sent us renders via email. We had some slight changes to the renders, which she listened to and modified without delay or complaint. Then, after we approved of the second render, Miner’s Den sent us a wax mock-​up of what the ring would look like. After we approved the mock-​up I got the final ring in the mail. It turned out perfectly! I strongly recommend Natalie and Miner’s Den if you’re looking to design a ring, or do anything else in the bling industry!

Miner’s Den was great. I just bought an engagement ring from there and their service was amazing. If you go there you have to ask for Tia. She was more excited to find the ring I wanted than I even was. It took me three different trips up until I finally chose the right ring.
She was patient and made me feel like I was the only customer. She’s great and the rest of the staff was wonderful as well. The owner also was extremely nice and helped me stay within my budget.
All around they are great! Highly recommend!

I have enjoyed shopping at the Miners Den for more than 30+yrs. TODAY’S EXP. WAS BEYOND THE BEST SERVICE EVER, mind you I have never had anything less than a great exp. each time I go.
but today, they went above & beyond without me even asking for my previous days gift purchased by my hubby for me from the ‘Estate Sale ’ stuff… needed this awesome 3 diamond stone ring made smaller… which I knew was a 14 to 10 day job… the jeweler guy came out from the back after a pc was removed to try it in it on for fit… the I thought I would not see my new stunner for weeks… he said if you can wait I ‘ll do it NOW! Impressive, yes! Best Service team of employees Heck yes! Thank you to the man in the red shirt! From this very happy Miners Den shopper!

Given my obsession with shinies, I wonder how wise the beau was to drag me into the Miner’s Den. Don’t be fooled by the quaint, rather peculiar name from the days when they sold tumbled Michigan stones and bits of copper to school children. Behind the modest Royal Oak façade hides a shop filled by enough semi-​precious stones and gemstones to make even my magpie soul thrill.
The jewelry store is really three in one. Classic engagement, wedding, and jeweled rings are on one side, their bread and butter. The middle section is filled by contemporary pieces, sterling silver, and what I call «every day» jewelry. The third section contains the polished rocks, beads, and curios of my beau’s childhood, the sort of place a budding geologist absolutely loves. They really have something for everyone, and in case you have a weary child or spouse in tow, they serve free hot drinks (like coffee, tea, cocoa, cider).
To grant a little perspective, I’m a girl mildly unimpressed by the Hope Diamond and the Smithsonian display, disappointed by the Field Museum jewels, and nodded «it’ll do» upon seeing the Scottish crown jewels. Being born during the pomp and circumstance of Diana, Princess of Wales, didn’t skew my expectations and tastes one bit… But after our first visit, and a glance in the estate jewelry cases, we became regulars. We don’t always come in to buy something but the estate jewelry in particular provides the thrill of a treasure hunt when it’s someone special’s birthday or Christmas. You never know what neat design you will find.
My engagement and my wedding bands both came from the Miner’s Den. After eyeing up a lovely but pricey tanzanite band, I put back the ring. According to my better half, said ring had a little conversation with him and I was summarily shooed so he could make arrangements for its purchase. The staff smoothly covered the transactions with me mostly none the wiser, and they somehow managed to sneak a measurement of my ring finger by some coordinated effort.
When a small diamond popped out from the shank of the ring, they hurried me back in right after work and promised to hold the doors open if I showed up at closing time. The staff reviewed the missing piece while cleaning my other ring, and provided a free repair within two days. I hated having a naked finger, but they fixed my newest sparkly to a tee. Resizing the ring after some weight loss also came free, a huge plus.
I want to sing my love for Tia, a complete gem among many. When we came in for a wedding band to match the in-​house designed ring, she went the distance to show us multiple options that would suit the unusual setting preventing us from just buying a plain band. She never rushed us, explaining the pros and cons, answering our questions. Her energetic enthusiasm is downright infectious and I swear, she’s a bottle of fireworks and bubbly. When we came to a general decision to custom design a pair of bands, she listened to our ideas, came up with preliminary sketches, and came up with what promises to be a lovely setting. Double that with the discount we got for ordering this month, and it’s money well spent at a local store.
I haven’t dealt with the other salespeople as often, but Tia left us satisfied customers through and through for the exceptional level of service, her extensive knowledge, and her wonderful glittery self. I can’t wait to pick up my ring in a week or two. Don’t bounce around between impersonal shops and snooty jewelers needlessly.
