Reds Salon and Barber

I went to see Vita and the team at Reds Salon and Barber on December 19. Good style, Good cut. Great atmosphere!

Reds is by far the best Salon that caters to Men too.
IMHO they got:
1. Reasonably priced — Check
2. Knowledgeable Stylists –Check
3. Polite and Courteous –Check
They also don’t force any product on you nor sell you on it. They suggest let you try it and if you like it buy it next time round. I liked that concept!
This is my second appointment with Dave and he is the best. along with Katie who I had before.
Also.I live nearby so that is a plus as well!

Got a great haircut from Lidia at Red’s Barber Shop the other day. In addition to offering a straight razor neck shave, they also shampoo and condition your hair after the cut. It was a great value for the price. Stop going to those generic clipper chains and come support a local small business. You will not be disappointed.

Red’s Salon is amazing! My whole family gets their haircut by Katie. She is great with our kids. She is patient with our energetic 8 year old son, helps our 14 year old son when he wants to try a new style and she is very sweet to our shy 8 year old daughter. Once our baby is big enough and needs to start getting her haircut she will be going to Red’s also.
When Katie is not available we have used the other stylists and have never been disappointed. Everyone is very friendly, make you feel welcomed and does amazing work!
If you’re looking to try a new salon you won’t be disappointed with Red’s.

Last week my 13 month old son, my husband and I all had our hair done by Vita.
–She is always so great and gentle with my son. And his hair is perfect, despite his wiggles.
–My husband has been seeing Vita for the last couple years and has always raved about her. He typically goes every 2 weeks and has never had trouble scheduling on late notice.
— For me: It was my first cut at Reds and I love, love, love my new style! Vita fixed up my long, wavy layers so my hair is so much lighter and has much more life without losing the length.
I will definitely continue going back and suggest you do the same.

This place is great. Always very accommodating for appointment times. I usually see David, and he rocks. Very attentive and informative about hair and scalp care. He seems to really care about his work and each cut. When not available, I occasionally see Marissa who is also good.

This place is impossible. Never have availability and could care less. After calling 3 days in a row they told me «they were done with me» because I was 20 minutes late to call to cancel. Horrible customer service.

I had my hair cut & colored by Marissa. She’s a sweet girl. I took loads of pics for the kind of cut & color that I wanted.
She listen & went about getting the job done.
Neither the cut nor the color was anywhere close to the pics I had shared with her. But in the end I’m still happy with the results.
Total cost $ 110.

Went here about four times. Concept is nice, you can schedule appointments and they text you a couple of days before to confirm. Twice my appointment changed after I made it for some inexplicable reason. Most recent was last Monday. Called on Saturday to change it back to original time, then received a call a couple of hours later to confirm the appointment at the correct time. All was good until I showed up. Stylist who gave a good haircut, apparently took a customer who ran late earlier in the day which then had me sitting for close to 20 minutes.
Nobody had the courtesy to come over and say anything about the delay or call me before I arrived. So I gave up and left. Got an apology call later but they had already decided that my business wasn’t important to them. Went to new place today– Trim in Berkley. Even better haircut then I was getting here, and they have a sign that says if you have an appointment and show up 10 minutes late they will reschedule you. They have my business now

Got a rather bad hair cut. I asked that my long layers be trimmed. Trimmed being the operative word here. Came out with a horrible new style, deep choppy layers that I am still growing out 18 months later. $ 44 for a hair cut, this isn’t a bargain. If you go here as a new client stay in control, be specific about what you want through out the entire process. I’m sticking with Tru in Berkley. Same price and better quality cuts.

When I graduated from college seven years ago, I started going here and have been going ever since. They cut a mean head of hair and it’s a pretty relaxed vibe, which I enjoy. They stylists/​owners are pretty cool and the aesthetics are pretty nice as well. Moreover, I’m sort of always tinkering with my hairstyle every month and my stylist/​owner never seems annoyed. I’d highly recommend this place!

:(I had a few good experiences — both myself and my fiancé went there — then I got handed off to someone last min — who really did an awful color job — it had to be fixed the following morning — and still looks ridiculous. It was just BAD and they could care LESS. Obviously neither of us will go back which is a shame cause its super close to home. Now I will drive from RO to A2 to go back to ENCORE salon in KerryTown — love them.

By far the best barber/​salon I’ve ever been to!
I moved away from RO almost three years ago and I always make an appointment at Redz when I’m back visiting friends and family. I’ve since lived in Washington, DC and Chicago and have not found a better barber shop/​salon.
Everyone is friendly and inviting, shop is clean, and prices are very reasonable for the service you receive.

Great haircut and not expensive. Great alternative from the higher priced salons in downtown RO.
