Self Esteem Shop

I love this bookstore for many of my professional resources as a Marriage and Family Therapist. Their books, charts, games, play therapy tools and journals are excellent additions to my counseling library and tools to assist clients in getting the most from their time in therapy. Thank you, Dee Dee and Harry!

I can’t say enough good things about this bookstore. They truly have something for anyone seeking recovery, healing, overcoming trauma, and more. They even have a children’s section with books about death and divorce. It is not just for therapists or social workers!
The owner is very knowledgeable and non-​judge mental so don’t hesitate to ask a question. They will just as well leave you be to browse and not hover how some stores can be.

Very unique bookstore – great for the general and special educator as well as for parents.

If you are in therapist, social worker, counselor then this place is the mega millions jackpot!!! I love shopping here! It is packed with useful books, games, toys, posters, and positive affirmations. You can expand you knowledge while utilizing therapeutic techniques for various learning styles… ie. a child might not want to talk about emotions, but they will play a game or color.
It is also GREAT for parents, especially if you are going through a divorce, have a spacial needs child, have experienced death or a recent trauma. They have a TON of books for children to help you talk to them about painful subjects… they also have books for you to help learn how to talk to them.
I love decorating my office in their posters. I also picked up some cool card decks on habits of successful people and karma cards… fun pick me ups for office dwellers. I love the little cards you peel open and a quote or affirmation is inside, and you open one a day… cute to put in your kids lunch, or a great way to start your day on the positive side.
Now all you parents, social workers and therapists run like pirates and get your self esteem shop booty.

I agree with the previous reviewer. I’m a mental health and drug therapist. I shop there all the time. The only reason this doesn’t get 5 stars is because the store is too small… but on the plus side the woman who works there knows where everything is. They also give discounts to non-​profit agencies. They will also bring a huge selection from the store if you are having a workshop, training, health fair, etc. etc. They will also donate a portion of their sales to the organization sponsoring the function as long as it is a non-​profit organization or event.

If you, a friend or family member is having difficulty with an issue, this might be a great place to find a book to help you deal with the situation. Whether the issue is raising kids, developing self-​esteem in children, dealing with loss, dealing with aging parents, Alzheimer’s, Aspergers, etc., you might find something to help. I have a «tween» and found a great book published by Girl’s Life. I’m sure she’ll love it. Check this independent place out before going online or to a mega store.
