Señor & Señora is a boutique design studio specializing in invitations, announcements and other fine paper goods. We are proud to offer custom design and illustration to help you celebrate your special events. We do our best to operate in an eco-​friendly manor, printing on FSC certified, chlorine-​free, recycled papers. Our printing methods also cover every budget with options like digital press, offset press, & letterpress.

History

Established in 2010.

Señor & Señora was officially founded by Carrie and Dave Acosta in January 2010 after years of working freelance in the design and illustration industries. Carrie has been a successful photographer and designer since 2000; and Dave has been a professional comic artist and illustrator since 2008. It all started in 2007, when Carrie designed the elaborate stationery for their own wedding, set at the Detroit Zoo. The response from guests was overwhelming. Commissions of social design for family and friends — and then others — started to pour in. After a couple of years of being told, «You’re crazy if you don’t start a business doing this,» they finally decided to give it a go. The illustration talent that is her husband, Dave, was brought into the mix and Señor & Señora was born!

Carrie A.

Business Owner

Carrie graduated from the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, Michigan with a BFA in Photography. She worked at a graphic design firm before starting her own photography business, Carrie Acosta Photography. She also teaches photography part-​time at Oakland Community College. Carrie enjoys playing cello, listening to music, sci-​fi, hanging with her dog, and riding her motorcycle now and then.
