When companies or school districts upgrade their computer systems, they call us to come in and remove their old computers so they can make room for their new electronics. We haul the old stuff off to our sorting facility. There, we separate the computers that we recycle from the computers going for wholesale/​parts. We offer this service free of charge! We also offer Free Data Destruction on all hard drives included in the pick-​up. It’s a win-​win transaction– our clients free up their space, and we get to keep the landfills clear of e-​waste hazards.

History

Established in 2009.

Tech-​Away was founded by my husband and myself a few years ago as we pondered on how to get rid of our own excess computers and electronics that were no longer working or were only good for parts/​repair. We figured there were millions of other people dealing with the same issue. We thought maybe we could provide a free service (to these people/​businesses/​school districts) by offering free pick-​up & removal and then make a profit on the recycle value of the equipment. **Tech-​Away was born**

We have really enjoyed working together to build our business and we have helped each other with the learning curve of business ownership. Every new pick-​up/​removal is like Christmas; you never know what you’re going to get! I think what I enjoy most about it is that we are helping our client and our client is helping us. It’s a win, win. And it’s super fun! We really do love what we do and enjoy serving others.

Marshall grew up in the Dallas Texas area, where he continues to dig his roots. He is passionate about his Church, serving and providing for his family, and providing a recycling service that keeps Texas landfills free from hazardous E-​waste materials (like those found in electronics).
