History

Established in 2013.

Pita Kebob was established in 2013 in Apollo Beach, FL. After 3 and half years, we decided to relocate to near by town of Ruskin, approximately four miles from our original location.

Business Owner

Owner Khalid Abouelhouda is proud to bring something entirely new to the community. The native Moroccan is one of five siblings who grew up with the Mediterranean Sea as his backyard. Having a close-​knit family and the strong influence of European culture, he learned to appreciate customs, superb food and the importance of having a meal together. That tradition is brought to the Southshore area and his passion for Mediterranean cuisine is reflected in every meal he creates.

We found the place going the back way to my in laws. Small place in a strip mall, service solid food at reasonable prices.
More of a place to ‘get food’, than to dine.
The Pita Nachos were special. Spinach Pie was solid to. You can order online, so take advantage. My wife really like the fries!

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The place was clean. They have a couple tables outside. Some of the food was really good but some of it lacked the spice I expected. I would go there again to explore more of the menu. Try it.

David and I stopped in for dinner on a Friday night. We decided to do take away instead of eating at the restaurant. The food was very good, we had a combination appetizer and the giro platter. The giro was our favorite. Portions are generous! Go hungry!

Based on the reviews we read we went for dinner. We ate there. The gentleman who waited on us was very nice, and honestly the food was good… BUT…the place is filthy dirty. The floors, bathroom, glass where you pick up your food, the doors to the beverage coolers, the front entrance. So it really makes me wonder how clean is the cooking area!!! C’mon dude we all clearly like the food but clean the place up!

First visit to Pita Kebabs, and it won’t be my last! Ordered gyro, and stuffed grape leaves. Both were excellent. The gyro was loaded! And the meat was nicely roasted (not microwaved like the only other place in this area that serves gyros)! Stuffed grape leaves on point. And bonus… every gyro comes with order of fresh cut french fries! Yum! Even though I picked up my order just a couple of minutes before closing time… I was greeted with a smile and hot food ready to go. Sometimes these little places are the best choice. P. s. those fries did not make it home ;)

This unique pita place has never let me down, the food is delicious such as the kebabs and natural cut fries. The owner is very kind and friendly. I would recommend this place to my friends and peers. The price is very good as well. I found this restaurant to be one of my top 3 medditereanen restaurants in tampa and is a must visit

The Greek salad was on point and so was the mixed grill combo, would definitely recommend Pita Kabob

Great food, quick service. If you’re looking for a quick lunch and you want something good and a reasonable price, this is the place. I’ve eaten at this establishment many times and it’s consistently good and quick. The French fries are crispy too!

Fantastic food both my children enjoyed every bite! They got the pita pizza with fries I got a chicken kebab platter, so glad we came back a second night in a row to get something different decide to go with the triple combo and chicken rice bowls!

For a hidden-​away, counter-​service only, tiny Mediterranean restaurant, this place is TOPS. I visited with my Apollo Beach-​based daughter and we had the most-​wonderful lunch. We are both vegetarians, and I’m on a diet, but the food is so fresh and healthful I felt great even after stuffing myself.
We shared an appetizer platter of 2 stuffed grape leaves, 2 falafels, hummus, Baba Ghanoush, Tahini, Taktouka, Tzatziki, and Pita Chips. It was ample for two and every bit was delicious. We had each ordered a falafel pita as well, and wound up bringing them home for dinner. They were very delicious — the bread is absolutely the best I’ve ever had, and in addition to perfect falafels, the sandwiches were chock-​full of lettuce, tomato, sweet red onions, and topped with a lovely yogurt sauce. The French fries were really good, but I wished I’d paid another $ 1 for tabouli.
I noticed that low carb, whole wheat and GLUTEN FREE pitas are available on request. I can’t wait to go back before I head home to Atlanta.

I had been wanting to try this place that opened in Apollo Beach about 10 months ago. Their location is unfortunate, because unless you know it’s there, it won’t attract much drive-​by service. I hope they can do some advertising to get more folks in the door.
The owner was super friendly and freshly made our orders promptly. I got the Falafel platter, which came w/​tabouli, rice, pitas, hummus, and of course, the BEST Falafel! My girlfriend got the Seafood pita and also loved the flavor.
I will definitely be a regular and encourage others to try if you’re in the mood for authentic, homemade Mediterranean.
