Very clean and comfortable room. Breakfast is good. Cookies and milk in the evening is a pleasant little addition. Close to the mountain. Will be back every year

I stayed here after attending a nearby wedding. I found the Inn to be friendly, reasonalbly priced for its location near Killington during ski season, and most importantly very clean. Kudos to the staff for enduring a winter or warm weather and cancellations! It is not fancy but has all I was looking for — a comfortable bed, TV and breakfast in the morning!
The breakfast (that comes with the room) was great. Make your own waffles, Green Mountain Coffee, hard boiled eggs, cereal, yogurt and much more but even nicer were the warm chocolate chip cookies and milk the serve in the breakfast area at 8:00 PM (it was an early afternoon wedding!)

I had a such a great 2 night stay here for the weekend. We had a suite room which had 1 bedroom with 2 beds, 1 bathroom, a full kitchen, and a futon in the living room. The suites felt very homely and warm. The rooms were very immaculate and the staff here is amazingly sweet. They offer complimentary breakfast every morning from 7:00 AM to 9:30 AM and free coffee, juice, and tea all day. Warm cookies and milk are also available at 8:00PM at the lodge registration area. The staff there are very amicable and loving. Like their motto «If you’re staying with us, you’d already be home,» the lady really made it feel like home. She was very welcoming and she’d constantly make sure we were taken care of. It was a very pleasant stay and I do expect to come back.

We just checked in and this place is perfect for families. Our room has a full kitchen and living room with a pull out couch. There is a separate bedroom with two queen sized beds. The place is spacious and immaculate. My only complaint is that their air temperature system is antiquated. We are here on an atypical warm day in November and I would like to cool down the rooms but the air conditioners are covered for the season. But I like a cool room to sleep. If I wanted a place to come with my family during ski season this place would be perfect!

The staff and the atmosphere are what make this place a great hotel. It has all the basic amenities you expect of the midline Best Western chain, but it is more rustic to fit the landscape. Came here for a weekend in Killington. The Queen Suite was quite large and reasonably priced. The suite was clean and warm when we arrived. The beds were comfortable and the towels were fluffy. Oh and the complimentary continental breakfast included fresh waffles! :)

I’ve been to several hotels in the Killington & Rutland area, including the Red Roof Inn, Pinnacle Condominiums, Econo Lodge in Killington and Red Roof Inn, Ramada/​Quality Inn, and Rodeway Inn in Rutland. To my surprise, the Best Western, which is in between Rutland and the Killington ski area is the one hotel to rule them all. It doesn’t break the bank, making stays very affordable for ski lift tickets that are nearing $ 100. It’s 20 minutes away from Killington Resort and 10 minutes away from Rutland.
The resort is spread out, reminding me of condos or townhouses. The check-​in lobby is in the front where the continental breakfast and gym is located. Several buildings, separate from one another, are laid across the lot with free parking spaces in front of each building. The rooms were up to date, with everything appearing new and clean. There was no sign of mold or massive wear & tear on the bed sheets, walls, nor ceilings. A mini fridge and microwave was also available for use. Another plus was a 42″ Panasonic LCD TV which allowed us to plug in our laptop to stream movies and Netflix via HDMI. Wireless internet was good for the most part, however there were a few occurrences that it would appear to go down. My one gripe in the room was that there was a used water bottle found on the floor as well as a receipt. A minor mishap, but it would have been nice if they paid a little more attention to the floor.
Continental breakfast is from 6:30 AM — 9:30 AM. Hot breakfast includes 3 waffle machines offering regular and blueberry batter. For the hot food, one day was scrambled eggs, circular disks of bacon, french toast. The next day was scrambled eggs with cheese, biscuits and sausage gravy. Other items included cereal, bananas, oranges, apples, oatmeal, bagels, bread, muffins, Green Mountain Coffee, and Rituals tea packets. One TV is located on the far wall televising current news and the sort.
Overall, the Best Western was a step up from the many other resorts in this price range. The facilities were well-​maintained, linens and towels clean, continental breakfast fairly good, and friendly staff. No bugs, no mold, no eye sores as I’ve come to expect at the other hotels. I would definitely recommend staying here when in the Killington/​Rutland area.

I ended up staying here completely by chance. In the past, I’ve stayed at the Comfort Inn near the fairgrounds. However, due to some broken air conditioning there and several other hotels, this is where we settled in – and what a happy mishap it was!
This hotel was formerly the Hogge Penny Inn and was built for longer term vacations. Instead of a block of buildings, it’s set up more like condos. This means that the grounds are lovely, there are more on location amenities (tennis courts, outdoor pool, and a playground!) than you’d find at your standard hotel. There is an exercise room, but no indoor pool, in case that’s on your must have list. On the other hand, all the rooms have N64 controllers, in case you need your video game fix.
They have a real breakfast here, as opposed to the usual boxes of cereal and sad fruit a lot of places pass of as breakfast. Besides fruit and cereal, they had a variety of baked goods, the ingredients for breakfast sandwiches, four varieties of juice, Green Mountain coffee, and – to my delight – a waffle iron. As long as you can drag yourself down to the guest lounge by 9:30, you’re golden.
The standard rooms are neat and good sized. Ours had a nice, flat screen television, a mini-​fridge, and a microwave, all tucked in the entertainment console. It was perfectly out of sight, out of mind for the toddler. My one gripe was that we had two double beds rather than a queen, but as we arrived on short notice, it was fine.
My parents opted to stay in a single bedroom suite. The set up is basically a small apartment. The unit has an apartment sized fridge, a stove, a dining room table, and some basic utensils. I am pretty sure I even saw a dishwasher in there. There’s a breakfast bar and stools, a little alcove for the dining room table, a small sofa that converts into a bed, and sliding glass doors that lead to a small patio.
As this is a «green» hotel, you can opt out of having maid service daily – we did. Just know that they will slip a note under your door to make sure you’re really, REALLY sure you didn’t want it. If you run out of anything, you can always stop in at the service desk for a restock.
The absolute best part, though, had to be the prices. It was a little more than I’d have paid at the Comfort Inn, but not much. The suite was only about negligibly more than our standard room; when I go back, I will definitely book one if it’s available.
This hotel is centrally located, as far as driving in Vermont goes, meaning it’s about 25 minutes from everything: Killington, Chittenden/​Mountain Top, and Rutland. It’s just off Route 4 itself which you can follow into Rutland’s Downtown or you can cut across Post Road and be on Route 7.
One thing I do want to note: this hotel is listed on the Bed Bug Registry with one report from 2010, with a follow-​up report from management. I saw absolutely no evidence of bed bugs (or pretty much anything) in either my room or my parents’. I obviously cannot vouch for every single room, but everything I saw looked clean and quite new. To be honest, this is probably one of the cleanest hotels I’ve been in.

An inherited Native American Beaded necklace was stolen from my room. I made the report to Management and was not given any recourse. I took my case to the BW Corporate HQ and, again, my claim was not validated. The value of that necklace was ~$ 300.
I suspect their Room Service personnel are on ‘the take’. No one else would have keys. Moreover, the nonchalance of the management makes me suspect collusion.
Management said that they offered that I check valuables at the front desk at registration. Too bad that their personnel have a pension for thievery so a guest has to visit the front desk to «dress» in the morning.
My visit took place during the American Society of Dowsers Conference at the Killington Conference Center.
My score for this business would have been higher had I gotten recourse for the theft of my necklace, a reasonable expectation. If not from that location, recourse from the corporate level would have made me ‘whole’ materially if not emotionally.

We stayed here with another couple for a weekend to do some skiing at Killington and Pico. Everyone that works there was extremely nice. The room was very clean and had a mini fridge and microwave which was nice. The continental breakfast was great, they had lots of choices, including make your own waffles. It was only about a 20 min drive to the ski areas which wasn’t bad.
Overall I would say we had a great experience and would definitely stay here again. Also, if you are staying here or in the Rutland area, check out Table 24 for dinner. Only about 5 min from the hotel and it was a fun place with great food!

We came here in the middle of the night drawn by the attractive grounds and the Best Western reputation. After a horrible experience at our original hotel we needed the comfort of a sure thing and this Best Western did not disappoint. The room was very clean. The beds had that wonderful white comforter and duvet that, unlike the funky bedspreads of the past, is laundered and changed after each guest. The beds were comfortable and the room was cozy.
Everything was clean and in good working order. There was a nice sized breakfast served with fresh waffles. The hotel seems to be in Mendon, just down the hill from Killington and if you can drive a few extra minutes and like the dependability of a franchise hotel then this is a good pick for you.

If you are looking for a reasonably priced hotel, go for Best Western Inn Rutland. They do offer free breakfast buffet, Free WI-​FI, free parking. This is not a traditional hotel, but more like a condo complex. There are two types of rooms (regular hotel rooms & suites). I stayed in a suite which was pretty large and could easily accommodate a whole family. If you get a suite ask for one on a second floor as they are much nicer inside and avoid buildings 5 & 6 which are right on Rt 4. The décor is a little dated, but everything is clean. The staff are friendly and helpful. The price is a bit high and the location is a little strange being about halfway between Killington & downtown Rutland. Overall its an ok place if you want a kitchen and more space. If you just want a regular hotel room I would go to the Hampton Inn or somewhere at Killington over this place.

Nice decent stay. It had a very «slopeside resort» feel because of the way each building is set up. The double bed rooms were a little small but it was very clean and the bedding was pristine clean with a down comforter — which is all I ask for. If we had more people on our trip I would have opted for the suite as it seems like a much better deal for the amount of space (and kitchen). It was very convenient to Killington and they served a decent «hot» breakfast in the AM. Would stay here again!

I went skiing with my family (4 people total) and was plesantly surprised with the Best Western suites. For a reasonable price and great location to Killington, I would recommend this lodging to anyone.

I travel for business 75% of the time and this is a fantastic place for a family to stay.

Smack in the middle (as close to it as possible) from Okemo and Killington, this is a great hotel if you’re looking to have a ski weekend. Recently came here for a weekend in Killington and had the luxury of staying in a suite. The suite is huge! It comes with two queen beds and a pull out couch, but you can easily fit 8 people in this room with an additional air bed.
I’ve stayed in this hotel two years ago as well and the experience was just as I remembered. Clean hotel with a reliable free continental breakfast. The staff is super friendly and the location is great. Drive 5 minutes down the road and you’ll find a Walgreens and drive ten minutes and you’ll find some decent food options.
All in all, great hotel, great location and a fabulous room. Super clean, all the amenities you need and they’ll really work to meet your every need.
