These guys know their stuff! Eric was especially accommodating while we were having our motorcycle seat re-​configured. This is the second seat they have worked on for us and both times the utmost in customer care, professionalism, and efficient workmanship. I would highly recommend this shop for upholstery needs. You will not be disappointed!!!

Had a great experience with Acme. I needed a custom bimini top for my power boat and these guys delivered /​exceeded expectations. Pricing was competitive /​affordable, customer service was excellent. they were in constant communication about delivery date and progress on the top. I was sent photos and regular text messages throughout the time my boat was kept there and being worked on. They finished before the delivery date promised and followed up a few weeks later to check on things and see how the top was working for me. Very satisfied, and should i have any future needs, they are certainly worth the drive. Thx again guys!

I owned a body shop in Sacramento and referred several of my customers to Acme. I thought they were a good operation. My customers were satisfied.
I was wrong.
I took my car there (63 Bonneville convertible) for a top, interior and a stereo. The net is I am having the top fixed (it leaks) and the carpet replaced because they installed the console incorrectly. I have already had the dash cover fixed by Premier Upholstery. The stereo is OK.
You might be wondering why I would not take it back and get issues fixed at Acme. And the reason is when the car was in their shop, one of their workers got in the car and ran into a Camaro. They paid to fix the Camaro but for some reason, they decided not to pay for my repair. The repair was serious too: I had to have the bumper straightened and rechromed. The right fender was crunched and pushed back into the door. The radiator support was bent. In addition to the $ 750 for the bumper, there was about another $ 4,000 of repairs.
As I said, they refused to pay. I took them to small claims. I won, although the amount given did not cover all my costs. But they appealed the decision. So back to court where I won again.
When a shop damages a customer car, they need to take care of it. That’s what I did at my shop if there was a problem.
The net is I had to pay to have my body work repaired because the court did not allow all my damages AND I am having a substantial portion of the interior and top work redone. Not good at all. Not happy.
One more item: I lost the remote to the stereo and I took the car to a shop in the bay area to get a new one. The owner of the shop knew Acme. This was surprising since the shops are 130 miles apart. He said the shop was really good but has been going downhill. I was not surprised.

I’ve had neighborhood «Do it yourselfers» attempt to put a stereo in my boat and although everything was mounted and the wires were ran, it just didn’t sound right. After taking my boat to Acme and having them check it out, I was very embarrassed when I saw the crap the guy in my neighborhood did. Alex took care of me and had his guys go through and rewire everything for me and I was surprised it didn’t cost me an arm and leg. Very professional and a very clean installation! No more feed back through my speakers! Basic to Custom work, these guys got it!

These guys came highly recommended from a buddy who had his boat system put in by them. I have an Acura TL that had a speaker blown out. When I brought it in the guy I dealt with, Alex, who is a nice guy, told me he could sell me two different sets of front speakers. Of course he tried to up sell me the more expensive ones. Since I’m planning on selling my car soon I was reluctant to pay double what it would cost to just have the speakers replaced to have «amazing sounding» speakers. But, I like good sound so I opted for the more expensive ones.
Alex was quick in getting them installed (half day). When I got my car back the new speakers did sound great. Excellent bass and tweeters had good sound. However, after about 3 days the bass went completely out and one of the tweeters stopped working. On top of that, whoever installed the speakers left black/​greasy finger prints all over the interior of my car (which numerous people noticed while riding in my car). I brought my car back to have the speakers fixed so the sound that was initially there when I first picked my car up would be restored.
When I picked my car up for the second time all that had been done was the tweeter was re-​hooked up. The «top of the line» speakers still carried no bass and sounded like shit. When Alex and I sat and listened and I told him the sound was not the same as it had been he simply said, «That’s how they’re supposed to sound» and if I wanted more bass to come back and he could give me a good deal on an amp. It was clear he had not even tried to address the issue as to why the quality sound had disappeared and could care less about fixing the problem.
My Acura has always had incredible sound with the stock stereo it had. Even with the blown speaker the sound was much better than it is with the «upgrade». I’ve had several people tell me that my speakers sound like shit. After the money I spent on these speakers, this should not be the case. I’ve even taken my car into another place and had them listen to my stereo and explained the situation and have been told something is not working properly. I will be having the problem diagnosed by another shop in the near future.
I would have been better off saving the money and keeping my stock speakers. Appreciate the prompt service, but the end result is beyond disappointing.

Treated like shit as one of their breathalyzer customers. Ben, the technician, is wonderful. The attitude I got from the little twerp at the desk today however was rude, dismissive, unhelpful and unsympathetic.
In order to keep my car from locking out, I have until the end of the day to get my car recalibrated, a task which takes less than 10 minutes. I was told to find another location to do it. This is the only location I have been directed to by the interlock manufacturer.
I have been told in the past that I need to make an appointment ahead of time. Every time since then I have been told not to make an appointment. I did not make an appointment today and now I’m screwed.
The funny thing is that this guy at the desk told me he could take walk ins today. Then he changed his mind and told me it’s not his problem.

If I could give no stars I would. I have never been talked to so rudely in my entire life. There is no such thing as customer service at this place and would NEVER recommend it. They screwed up my stereo and have the nerves to talk to me the way they did and is unacceptable. I warm you not to come here or beware because they will not take responsible for anything!

I have been a customer here since 2003. I have spent at least 3,000.00 for every automobile I have taken here. I have taken each of my cars here more than once, and I have owned 5 cars at one time in the past. You can imagine or get a pretty good idea of how much i have spent at this place. These guys are experts at ripping unsuspecting women off and recommending that they need a «new audio system «or car «alarm» because «the one they have is «obsolete.» When you are a single woman and don’t know any better, business like these will rip you off! Ladies, take time to do a little research before getting into a deal with this kind of business. Tops and Tunes are more concerned with selling you things that you don’t really need. Their customer service is acceptable when you are purchasing something, but when the sale is made, beware because they will try and sucker you into purchasing more new stuff. Recently when they were trying to sucker me into purchasing a new alarm for my vehicle, and not at all concerned with trying to service their sub standard alarm that almost caused a fire in my car, I had had my breaking point and said ’ to heck with this» I got smart and went to a new business to purchase an alarm. I went to Car Toys, in the Smart Shop Center on Stockton Blvd. and Im glad I did. I got a kick butt alarm and a life time warranty. The price for this fully equipped car alarm was a fraction of what Top & Tunes charged. The customer service is so far, pretty good. They even promised to install a brand new car alarm if for some reason,
the one they installed, malfunctioned, and they were not able to fix it. Pretty good! Its just a shame that it had to take me 11 years to go to a new establishment to really learn what good car and audio customer service really is.

I finally decided to sit down and write a review on this place. I had a compustar alarm system installed in my car and a tint job on one of my windows in the beginning of 2012 after my car was broken into. They were were able to finish the job in a day and the guys in the front counter seemed like good people.
First issue: After tinting my window, they did not reattach the hook pulley to my door handle so there was no way of opening the door from the inside. Luckily, I knew how to take all that apart already and fixed it myself.
Big issue: About a year after I got my alarm installed I decided to put a push start button in my car. I take apart the panels on the steering column so I can get to the ignition switch. One of their connections where they spliced into an existing wire was done so by WRAPPING THE COPPER WIRE onto the existing ignition wire and ZIP TYING the two together. There was no electrical splice connector used whatsoever, leaving the copper wires EXPOSED! Once again, I was able to fix the issue myself.
All in all the alarm system still works as it should, but I don’t expect to pay $ 500+ for that type of work quality. If you get an alarm system or any other electrical components installed here, it will most likely work, but beware because they might also be cutting corners on your car.

They did a great job on a custom seat I had done for my M109R by ACME Tops and Tunes in Sacramento, CA. I gave them my stock seat and told them the shape, color and material I wanted and they NAILED IT!!! It is way more comfortable than the stock piece of garbage seat that comes on these bikes. No more aching tail bone and lower back pain from any ride longer that 20 minutes. I rode about 200 miles in one day with no back pain at all. Best mod I have done yet!

I had Acme tops and tunes install a whole new stereo system and deck in my boat and I had them put in a whole new battery bank. Ben was in charge of my whole install and his customer service is excellent. My boat was ready when he said it was going to be. As can be expected with such a large install, there were a couple of modifications and tuning that needed to be done to get it perfect. They handled these free of charge and no questions asked. I would definitely recommend using Acme tops in tune.

How to begin? I’ve been going to Stereo Shops since I was 16. I’ve had stereo systems in all of my cars for the last twenty years. I’ve visited almost every stereo shop in and around the Bay Area for one reason or another. Until I bought a boat and needed help with my system in Sacramento where I store it I never realized how good one stereo shop could be. From customer service, to diagnosing the problem, to updates where I didn’t have to constantly call them, to the job being done in a timely manner and taking the time to explain everything when picking up the boat Acme Tops and Tunes has a class act business. Ben, Jesse and the rest of the crew were proffesional, informative and on top of their business. Best stereo shop I have ever been to hands down.

It’s 1:40pm — and I’m back at the office!!! The reason why that is SO important is because I was just referred to Acme yesterday and made a phone call this morning and have had all 9 of my windows tinted in my car!!! Talk about fast and efficient!!! They don’t waste any time!
I spoke with Ben first thing this morning, had the pleasure of working with Alex directly and so far I am not only happy with their work, but their customer service and professionalism is off the charts! Great group of guys, very respectful and courteous! I have 2 weeks before I have to check for any flaws and address them if needed, but in the meantime, I’ve given this business 5 stars!!!

I luv these guys! They are great. Back in 2010, my jetta had this issue where water would come in from the sunroof. One time during a stormy weekend, my car had flooded. I took it in and the guys got to work on out right away. They were super vigilant about not letting it sit and have mold form. They replaced the padding, cleaned the carpet professionally, and had someone detail the inside. The price was way less than I thought it would be. This last year, I got a notice that there was a class action lawsuit against vw for their leaky sunroofs. I needed to provide documentation about the clean up, andI didn’t have it anymore. I called up Acme and the guys found what they had and faxed it to me in less than 2 hours. They went way above and beyond for me.
This April, I had my windows tinted in my new car. The job was awesome. The price was great. Rene even spent time answering a ton of questions that my 6 yeast old had about everything she saw.
These guys are all really nice and professional, and their work is awesome.

This generalized review will be updated to full details upon completion of the corrections. For now, it ain’t lookin’ so good. If all is corrected, my score AND this review may completely turn around.
Positives
+ One of the sales guys had a great knowledge for the products being sold.
+ Fair prices for installation.
+ Quite clean in the waiting room, showroom and bathroom.
+ They were helpful pointing out some details that needed attention.
+ Professional and energetic attitude from the sales side.
Negatives
— No bargains here for the products being sold. You pay top dollar + a few dollars more at Acme Top and Tunes.
— Things are not working out so far. Craftsmanship quality is below average. They tried to get me to make some of the corrections myself. NO!!! I PAID for installation by Acme Tops and Tunes. The fact that they didn’t prepare for certain things to happen is on THEM. Simple, just fix it!
— Communication from Acme after the services were done has a few strikes so far. Seems like they don’t give a $h!+ after they’ve taken your $$$$$$.
So far, I see Acme as good up front, but shady after they empty your wallet. To be continued.

Total Rip off… Car left with shop for well over a year… for a complete redo of interior, from top to bottom; install audio/​video monitors and speakers. navigation; auto engine start; install wood panels, etc Original salesman took my order… later was fired… for some reason… come to find out, his girl friend had the same type of car, i have… I visited the shop several times during time, asking ques tons about my car while given the run around. When I finally received my vehicle, my front suspension was loose, the wood paneling on doors and dash, were not affixed properly ignition switch buzzes without a key in it; fog lights don’t illiumate… and this is the beginning… Very poor customer service and workmanship
I wouldn’t recommend this vendor to it’s own relatives.

I had gotten my alarm system installed by one of the guys from Acme, after my Civic was broken into a few before on 4÷21÷2010. $ 500 for the installation, a decent alarm system, two controls and a backup siren (optional, just in case the first alarm was cut.).
Overall, you get a lifetime warranty and if anything goes wrong with your alarm, such as the sensitivity, ask for Michael. He’s the dude.

I went to Top and Tunes for the top, rather than the tunes. I needed some work done on my convertible inside headliner and the estimate from the dealer was ungodly.
I actually had two separate repair issues on my roof. They were able to fix the first issue, no problem. The second issue required parts that the dealer doesnt sell to independant shops. I was a bit bummed, but i’ve come to expect such antics from Volkswagen.
They get the 4 star rating for being professional, friendly, and for doing dealer-​worthy work for HALF the price of the dealer’s estimate. I fully intend to go back and get my stereo and speaks upgraded soon. Yay for Tops and Tunes. :)
