My MacBook is about 7 or 8 years old and I have used the heck out of it so when it started having crashing problems I knew it was probably something major. I brought it to Alex and his staff and ask them to save it. The good news is. They saved my computer and saved me the expense of a new Mac. The other good news is they gave me a break in some of the costs because they had my computer (the only bad news) for 5 weeks. To be fair, I did tell them no rush but still, 5 weeks was a long time. That’s the only reason I don’t give them 5 stars. Alex and his crew tackled several big issues with my computer and I am very happy with their integrity and the fact that they kept trying until they got it right. My computer is back home now where it belongs and I am super happy I chose this shop. I gave them a complicated job and they handled it!

Had a virus issue with my mac. and had been putting off dealing with it
for sometime. Finally it started acting up again so I called Alex as he was
the closest computer service busn. Brought it in in the late a.m. and he
called and had it repaired by 5 p.m., cleaned up some files and it’s been great.
Had a question the next day, went in and he took care of the issue. which was
me not knowing how to change something that was back at default.
Could not have asked for more professional and quality service.

These guys fixed my HP and Epson printers when the major retailers like Best Buy/​Geek Squad and Office Depot wouldn’t even look at them. Thanks Allocate Tech!

After a long day of drinking wine in Amador County, we stumbled back to our guest house to play some computer games. It was there that my boyfriend’s brother stepped on the charging port of my laptop and broke it. The port was shot and the laptop was doomed. Sadness. Or so I thought.
I discovered Allocate Tech through a friend who swears by them, (she breaks computers a lot), so I decided to give them a try. I called, explained the situation and they gave me a quote. The quote was super reasonable and their explanation of the service was very informative.
Their office is pretty standard and clean. These guys are super personable, which made me more comfortable. I really don’t like just anyone fixing my computer, especially a part as delicate as the charging port. He said it would be finished in about three days, which was no problem for me.
A few days later, I got a call saying to come and grab my baby. I was so excited to have my laptop back! It was totally fixed for under $ 150 including parts. They even gave my boyfriend some free parts for his desktop computer!

Alex and his team killed it this week! I was having major QB issues and they did not give up until it was fixed. Not only did they fix the issues, when QB wanted to try to charge us for additional tech services when we had already paid a couple days prior, Alex got on the phone with them and demanded they support us, we already paid once and were not paying again! Quick courteous service nice guys! been using him for years and will for many more!

Took a Dell laptop in for a DC jack replacement — easy job for a decent shop. I had multiple quotes for around $ 100.
Took mine here when I saw a website special for DC jack replacement for $ 99. They quoted me much higher at the counter and didn’t know about their web ad. I showed them the ad on my phone and they suddenly remembered. Hmmmmmm
Work was done OK, except they also charged me $ 30 for the part. This is a $ 5 part! Slight mark up.
Again — good work — crappy business practices — will not use again…

I have taken several of our family computers here and have always been happy with their service. They quickly check-​in the computers and I’ve never waited more than a day for a quote of repairs. In fact in all but one case the computer was ready to bring home the same day. The repairs have always fixed the problem and the computers run smoothly afterwards.
These guys are great, very quick, kind, and knowledgable. They give tips on improving performance and help think of budget friendly fixes.

I am really happy with the work with my laptop and the speediness of the service. i trusted the workers’ expertise very much. However, in spite of all of your great reviews, I was very disappointed this 2^nd time. My husband dropped off the laptop, and he called later for a status. He was told that the job would cost $ 199 as he had already diagnosed the problem. I called later to confirm this but had no idea if this was appropriate for the job as I am not that savvy, but the decision was if it was worth saving the computer or buying a new one.
When I picked it up, the total changed from$ 199 to $ 297. I stopped by the shop and was told that I ok’d this, as evidenced by an «ok» by the price. I never ok’d it, and if I had been told that the cost would be $ 297, He kept saying that I did ok it since the technician wrote ok on the work order. I do understand numbers, and I would have not had the work done, but rather would have bought a brand new computer. I went round and round with Alex about his flawed logic. He was nice about it, but he did not own up to the fact that there was a miscommunication.
I will not go back to this business. It is unfortunate because I live in the neighborhood and wish to see small businessed succeed. I think that he would have kept my business had he met me halfway and charged me what I was told in the first place

I’ve taken all of my computers to Allocate over the past three years for various reasons. I feel extremely lucky to have stumbled upon them. The staff there really takes customer service seriously. They offer specific (very reasonable) quotations upfront and offer the best turn around times in town. Usually, they call before I expect them to!
Over the years, they have saved data and hardware that would have cost me dearly. I know other repair shops would have just replaced the hardware and charged me for it, These guys seem to have a nack for diagnosing problems.
I’m relocating out of town — I wish I could take them with me.

I’ve had Allocate Tech work on the three laptops in our family and I’ve always received prompt, competent service at very reasonable prices. I had them come to my house to sort out all my wi-​fi and printer issues and again, the repairs were quick, permanent and fairly priced. I’ve recommended Allocate to any and all friends that have computer problems.

Writing to recommend Alex and Allocate Tech to anyone with computer issues — he saved my butt on short notice, and for a more than reasonable price.
I called Alex at about 2:30 p.m. on a Saturday. My computer was acting up and I needed it fixed, pronto, so I could finish work-​related projects before the end of the weekend. Alex had me bring my computer down to the store, where he quickly diagnosed the problem and began fixing it. The most amazing part is that the store closed at 5:00 p.m., yet he contined to work on my computer until it was fixed at approximately 6:30 p.m. Even after he spent 90 minutes of what should have been his Friday night fixing my computer, he charged me a very, very, reasonable rate.
So thanks to Alex, and I would recommend him to anyone in a heartbeat.

Great staff and a great place! I’ve had so many problems with my laptop, along with my husbands and the first place we go to is Allocate! I’ve heard this place from a friend of mines. Everytime my laptop is acting up, I just give them a call and bring it in. It’s also fast service, I usually get it the next day!

Alex and the crew at Allocate Tech are friendly and accommodating. They communicate well and keep you posted on the status of your job. I have used their services for years and highly recommend them especially for DC jack repair (laptop wont charge anymore) and data recovery for broken hard drives. Very fair on the price as well.

I have never been disappointed with Alex and his staff. They always come though for me fast and have never let me down. I am a small business and the last time he helped me recover my quick book files at a fraction of the cost of other firms were quoting. This was a real lifesaver for many reasons. I send everyone I know to him when ever they have computer issue because I know he will take care of them at an excellent price. I know my review is a bit late but I hope if you are on the fence about taking your computer to him or having him come to you, that you now know Alex will take care of you and your computer needs at the end of the day!

Alex and all the staff at allocate are great… just as another I searched around to get my laptop fixed when it would no longer hold a charge… Alex was very reasonable and kind to me. I take my computers there any time there is a problem. He has fixed my laptop and desktop on many occasions. I would definitely encourage patronage to this very fine establishment, not only is the service A+, but the people are friendly and will work with you as well. Great Place.

I thought I wrote a review of this already. I went to Allocate because of Unilocal; and was sorely disappointed. Would not give me an estimate without looking at my computer, then wanted a minimum (I think it was $ 65 or $ 75) to install a driver; all I wanted to know was why I couldn’t install it. Turned out that I just wasn’t waiting long enough; I thought it was hanging. I could not understand the guy at the counter; his English was not very good, and he was not friendly. On the other hand, I was really pleased with the service at Cingular

Alex at Allocate Tech is the best! Saved my super duper laptop from becoming an expensive paperweight!
I am very impressed with the complete overhaul of my laptop! They went over everything that was wrong and ALWAYS kept me informed of what was going on and how much it would cost. I got no surprises and paid way less than I was expecting! They were able to explain the problems with my laptop without making my head explode!
Seriously I wish I could find a mechanic to work on my car this honest and thourough…

Our computer was not allowing us to view the monitor. First, we went to Circular because it had received so many great Unilocal reviews. But, maybe it was TOO popular since they had our computer a week but NEVER looked at it.
So, my husband took it to Allocate Tech which had also received a lot of great Unilocal reviews. And, we are very happy that we did. They checked out our computer within a day and we had it back in less that three days. We purchased additional RAM which they installed without charging any additional labor costs.
Our computer runs great. In fact, it is probably better than it was when we bought it. The service was wonderful. We would definitely recommend this company to anyone looking for good computer service and a fair price.

Several Months ago, or so, I called around for prices on fixing my laptops charging connection. I had estimates from about $ 225 to almost $ 300!
I called Allocate Tech and they quoted me for much less. I dropped it off before closing, and I had it back the very next day. Too much time apart from my laptop is a bad thing.
Just outside of midtown it’s really convenient.

Recently, my laptop started acting peculiar. Double letters appeared in my emails, foreign characters popped up in website posts and whenever I typed a «t,» it would bring up a search prompt. Imagine how hard it was to look up porn on Google!
Relax, the last one as a joke. Seriously.
I found Allocate Tech a couple of blocks south of the monstrous DMV building on 24^th street. It’s a family-​run repair shop set in a simple and clean workspace. I was first greeted by a woman who asked what kind of trouble I was having. As I described the ghost in my machine, a young man approached from the back room and took over the discussion. He was very friendly and reassuring but had a very thick accent and I had some trouble understanding his explanations. Nevertheless, he wrote up an order – he suspected the keyboard just needed a good cleaning – and said it shouldn’t be more than a couple of days. Cool.
Two days later, I got a call and picked up my freshly-​scrubbed pc with the offer that, should the problem return, Allocate would replace the keyboard free of labor charges. Nice touch.
So, it’s back to email, net surfing and Unilocal for me. More posts, less gibberish thanks to Allocate.
