I’m obsessed with Article! It seems like every time I walk in the door, I walk out with bags of great finds! This past weekend, I was really excited to find an amazing pant suit, blazer, black slacks, adorable jacket, down-​filled vest, and three new tops — all high-​end names (Tahari, LuluLemon, Velvet) and all for less than I would have had to pay for the suit jacket alone! Abe, Val, and their staff are always so friendly and helpful in providing me with ideas and suggestions to put together the perfect outfit. Each time I visit, they greet me warmly, making me feel welcome, and they allow me to take my time in selecting amazing pieces. You’d think you were shopping in Nordstrom! Staff is so attentive in making sure that you have two free hands to shop, as they carefully place your items in a spacious fitting room.
The smartest thing you can do is to subscribe to their Instagram and Facebook posts! You’ll find yourself waiting each day to see new items, fun outfit ideas, and notices of fantastic sales!
Consigning your clothes can be an emotional thing to do. Similar to having a garage sale, where you suddenly see that treasured sofa sitting out in the daylight and realizing that you should have gotten rid of it years ago. Article is very selective in what they accept. And they have every reason to be selective! After all, that’s how they ensure quality items in their store. Of course, it’s not easy when they turn away items that you thought were perfectly fine. However, they’re business owners, and they need to make the decision as to whether the item will be desirable by their customers and whether they already have too much inventory to support the item. That’s just good business sense. So, if you emotionally cannot handle having your favorite dress or jacket turned away, don’t consign.
Article is well organized and always looking at ways to improve their store. The display cases for jewelry are a fun place to start your hunt. Although they carry a great deal of high-​end handbags at prices I can’t even afford, they also carry a wide variety of other name brand bags at very reasonable prices. Their designer clothing is beautiful, and the store is laid out nicely. Article has frequent sales, as they most likely need to in order to decrease their high inventory. I don’t mind working my way through a rack of clothes — it’s just the way I love to shop — but I’m sure some shoppers prefer less inventory. The inventory and selection changes frequently too, which makes me want to make the 20-​minute drive to Article more often than I should. Given that it’s the only store that I care to shop at anymore due to the great finds, I’m happy to make the drive!
So, thank you to Abe, Val, and staff for being such a friendly and comfortable place for me to shop!

I enjoy checking out Consignment shops, here in the Sacramento area, and when traveling as well. So it was with great enthusiasm that I visited Article Consignment Boutique in East Sacramento. Located in a shopping area with great off street parking and not one but two nearby coffee shops.
Sadly, Article Consignment Boutique was a bit of a disappointment, upon entering, I was never once greeted by employees. The selection of consigned goods was mediocre at best, no high end designer items whatsoever! And the clothing section was nothing but racks crowded in the middle of the shop and against the back wall. Usually when browsing consignment shops, one almost always finds a «treasure» or two, and if you’re really lucky, a designer item at a «too good to pass up» price! I honestly was disappointed that this was not the case with Article Consignment Boutique.

They seem to have an air of discriminating taste — but the clothes in stock just don’t match it. Packed full of mundane thrift-​store clothing — at fairly high prices. I’m a big consignment store shopper. and I’ll pay top dollar for contemporary brand names. But, most of these styles were out-​of-​date particularly considering the high prices. I’ve only been in once — and I’ll go back and give them another try. Maybe before the holidays. On this trip — I just tried on one jacket — and it was too pricey.

I always find clothes here. They are obviously picky about the clothes they accept. I found some Channel glasses that I love too. There are plenty of shoes, accessories and even maternity clothes.

To be honest I was unimpressed. If I’m shopping consignment, rather than new clothing, I’m looking for a good value and this place didn’t seem to have it. For example, I saw a nursing tank I owned for sale $ 19.50, though I paid around $ 20 for it new. The staff was fine, not overly friendly but they did start a dressing room for my mom, who found a beautiful dress at a good price.
While I found their prices overall on the high side (same price as new clothing on clearance at stores like Macy’s) they did have some cute items and even some maternity clothing. The store is very clean and well organized. There is a small parking lot as well.
When you are shopping there are two prices– the starting one and the sale one– which goes into effect on the date listed on the tag. Call ahead or check because they only take consignments on certain days.

I was on my way to Tupelo Coffee when I stumbled upon this hidden gem! For designer lovers this place is heaven! I was so surprised by the amount of Vince, Eileen Fisher, Wildfox, and a few Joie items they carried. I bought a cute Brooks Brothers dress for $ 23. Didn’t have much time to look around but I will definitely be back!

Stumbled upon Article and so glad that I did. If you like vintage items but don’t have the patience to hunt, you’d like this store because they’re super organized. Everything is labeled and and easy to find. They have a nice selection of designer items and they guarantee that everything they carry is authentic. I fell in love with this LV bag that they had, but just wasn’t ready to drop $ 1400 on it. I want it so bad… I hope this beauty finds a good home. I was impressed with the selection of Chanel necklaces they had too. Staff was very friendly and helpful! I didn’t purchase anything this time, but will definitely be back to see what kind of treasures i’d find.

Abe and Val are the nicest people!!! I have been coming for years. I get a lot of compliments on my clothes. My answer almost every time is «Got it at Article»!! They have several high end brands and everything is well organized.

A cute little consignment boutique with a large number of designer brands and quality items. You name it, they have it. Michael Kors, Burberry, Chanel, Manolo Blanik, Tiffanys, Tory Burch and more. Don’t expect dirt cheap prices though, a little higher on the price points but you’ll have to go in and check out the merchandise to understand why. Did I mention that have a wide assortment of designer handbags including LV?
I did not find anything that I loved when I went in the other day but it definitely wont stop me from visiting again! Follow them on Instagram or Facebook and you’ll see new items marked down or on sale!
My husband was a little disappointed that he didn’t find anything. Definitely a cool place for the ladies though, big or small!

This place is a true gem! I stopped by for the first time this past Saturday and I was overwhelmingly impressed by this store. Not only do they have a huge selection, but they also have by far the most attentive staff. I was on a serious shopping mission and they kept coming and grabbing things I had picked up and putting them in the dressing room for me. Every single employee was kind and attentive. Their selection is amazing! They have a huge designer selection to chose from… everything from shoes to purses to formal gowns. This is most definitely my new favorite store in Sacramento!

First of all– hands down AMAZING customer service. This is how all business SHOULD be operating.
I am new (er) to the area and I have been looking for high end consignment. This is in East Sac, so I thought it would be a definite winner. The clothing is definitely good quality (as consignment should be) and organized neatly, the racks are not overfilled and it was a comfortable shopping experience.
But the clothes are noticeably dated. And not in the cute vintage way. A very large selection of 90s-​esque pieces, not what we expected. I am by no means a «fashionista» and I would describe my style as «classic/​preppy». If you are looking for this type of clothing– this probably isn’t the store for you.
They did have an extensive handbag and shoe selection, but mildly overpriced (considering there are outlets for Coach, Michael Kors and a few others in Folsom, Vacaville and Napa.)
I couldn’t leave 5 stars because I was disappointed with the selection and price. But, the customer service was definitely out of this world and I would go back just to talk to the girls that work there!

If your into purses this is the place to go! Friendly staff and a great selection of clothes, purses and shoes. I love that it’s a family ran local business too!

LOVE Article Consignment! They always have cute stuff in all sizes and styles. There truly is something for everyone here. The gentleman’s section is great, some really great loafers, ties, and hats. The shoe section is a dream come true for many women, and they have so many great jewelry options, both new and old, to choose from. You can put together a great outfit from head to toe for $ 80 or less here! So fun!

This consignment shop is one of the best place to sell your gently used clothes. I made around $ 117 with 10 items. The staff are super friendly and they are quick at responding to any questions you have in store and via email. They carry a lot of vintage designer bags which I adore. I picked up a few items from here for a great price.
Thrifty Tip: Sign up for their emails where you can get updates on when they’ll have 20%-50% off days.

High end couture clothing, bags, and shoes as well as affordable ready to wear slightly worn items. A little pricier than Crossroads where you can get similar items but of course location and personalization play into part here.
Clerk and owner were friendly and helpful and he took my contact information regarding my LV specs.

Article Consignment Boutique is a novel store located in the same shopping plaza area as Tupelo’s (one of my favorite Indie Coffee shops) and also — ironically enough — the location of one of my favorite Starbucks in Sacramento.
So the additional irony is that I’ve patronized this shopping plaza for 10 years and suddenly Article is newer venue and I just stepped into this particular store this past month.
THE SETUP
It is an eclectic store with a preponderence of women’s fashions, but since I was informed recently that men’s fashions were also available, I decided to come and peruse for myself.
The items are somewhat unique, and by that I mean you might really like a particular piece of clothing or see a smart set of shoes, but they don’t have them in every size. So you will really need to scrutinize your choices and not get your heart set on anything from afar. It is definitely a store with more selection (to be honest) for a woman than a man.
BELTS
However, what I DID find was a great $ 22 leather belt — and belts for me are one of those items that are pretty hard to go wrong anyways since if it’s the width I like to fill the pant hoops — and if it’s long enough — I really dont’ care about the color since I tend to wear my shirts on the outside anyways.
THE LOWDOWN

This was my first (but not last) acquaintance with this cute store. During a Unilocal event, I got to explore the shop first hand. The boutique is jam packed with a unique variety of clothing for men and women, shoes, handbags, jewelry, and accessories, ranging from vintage, gently used to new merchandise. Since this is a consignment store, you never know what you’ll find and what you missed out on. Don’t expect Good Will donation prices here, because only high quality, brand name clothes are offered, and that’s what makes this store fun to browse through!
Inventory changes frequently, so visiting often is the key to getting first choice one-​of-​a-​kind items! If something doesn’t sell after 30 days, the price gets dropped, but that’s the chance you take if you want something; either buy it now, or you may lose it if you wait. And, you leave with the knowledge that you didn’t have to pay full designer prices! That can be an exciting endeavor to some people like me!
The store is nice and well organized. The owners Abe & Val Sanchez are a husband/​wife team who are even nicer! They are personable and very helpful in guiding you with your shopping needs. I found a cute top that fit perfect and very comfortable to wear. I also got a 20% discount when I checked into the boutique using my Unilocal app!
Now I have several good reasons to check out this store again and again!

At some point along the line, «boutique» became synonymous with women’s wear and men were reduced to seeking anything hip and original at major department stores. Thankfully, Article came along and has proved itself as one of the best boutiques in Sacramento when it comes to quality threads for men.
The men’s section isn’t huge — maybe two to three racks. But in a city starved for male boutique clothing, this section might as well be as big as the warehouse that housed the Ark of the Covenant in Indiana Jones. It’s all quality threads for not outrageous prices. I can only imagine this is due in part to the fact that it’s man who co-​owns the shop.
The other owner, his wife Valerie, is very personable and greets you with a smile upon each visit. If you don’t find what you need, at least you find a pleasant shopping experience.
