Cake Castle Bakery & Supplies

Cake Castle provided the cake for my daughter’s wedding. They did a fantastic job. It was a great representation of the picture we brought to them. My only regret was that I didn’t convince my daughter to do two layers of Orange instead of one. By the time I got to the cake, all the orange pieces were gone. The cake was delivered on time, and everyone raved about how good it was. (Apple spice for two layers, and orange crème on one)
I will definitely use them again.

I have just learned how to make Macarons and Ive been cooking up a storm. This was the nearest cake hobby shop and they have everything you need. They even an assorted gel colors and also packaging. I am not sure if they have macaron packaging because they were all hung above the cash register area. It is kind of too far for my eye sight to actually see if there were appropriate boxes for macarons.
They also had a section for people who like to do chocolate artistry and also fillings pre made if you are the type that is lazy to make your own. They got cake molds, baking tools and more. I thought it was an awesome shop.
Also if you want to eat, they got freshed baked goodies too. I am sure you can also order your cakes here too. Also the woman behind the register was extremely nice. She took the time to print me a list of their classes and explain it to me. Yah… someday I can learn how to pipe properly. It’s a great looking place with nice workers.

I called several bakeries to see who could help me with my messed up cake. Long story short, the icing on my cake got messed up and the cake was for my nephews first birthday.
Everybody said no, until I called cake castle and I’m so glad I did. They were such a huge help. My cake was messed up, the frosting was drooping down the cake. It was a mess!
I came here and Amanda helped me, she was so friendly. Everyone loved the smash cake.

They did an Amazing Job with our wedding cake. It turned out beautiful and tasted delish! I would highly recommend them for wedding and birthday cakes!

This is my go to place and the ONLY go to place when I need cake supplies.
I was helped out by Anne at the cashier, she is always sweet and cooperative when I show her a picture or present ideas :)
I understand all businesses needs their days off too, and only WISHED they could open until 7pm. Also, if you’re buying a cake box make sure YOU double check the sizes on your end before leaving. I brought home wrong sizes on two different occasions and that wasn’t fun when the cake boards didn’t fit. Grrr!

I was at Beck’s Furniture the other day and while my mom was finalizing her purchases I decided to check this place out. I probably wouldn’t have known this place existed unless I went to a store nearby though.
Upon driving into the plaza, the parking was limited. Lucky for me someone was just leaving. When I walked in, I was overwhelmed with the amount of baking supplies they had. Literally anything you would want and need to bake something. I looked around for a bit, I didn’t really need anything, but I found these super cute SF Giants and 49ers ring toppers that I just had to have. And they were less than $ 2 for a pack of 8.
Truthfully I just came into this shop to get a cupcake, which they didn’t have very many of. They had a selection but 1 or 2 of each flavor. They had cakes and some other pastries as well though. The cupcakes were $ 2.00 each, I didn’t ask about the other pastries.
I purchased the salted caramel cupcake, and after one bite I immediately regretted only buying on. It was so soft and delicious. My one concern was that there wasn’t much cake in the cupcake. It was probably 70% caramel filling and 30% cake. Other than that it was delicious.
I do plan on coming back for all my baking needs!

After reading all the reviews (the good ones) I believed I hyped myself up a little bit too much. Although they had many baking supplies it was a bit pricey. But… I didn’t go in for baking supplies.
I was surprised to see just a little display for their sweets and it was almost empty. With my mouth watering I hyped myself even more! «Ooouuu, look at that, all gone it must be that good.» I got two cupcakes, this rolling thing that looked so buttery, flaky, and crispy and a brownie bite cake pop.
Took a bite of the first cupcake, eww.

The cupcakes tasted like cupcakes from walmart. Like it’s the last day to buy it or they’re going to toss it type of cupcake. The flaky thing wasn’t good but it was the best of what I bought. The brownie pop tasted like box cake with majority frosting (from the tub)

Got married this weekend and automatically turned to Cake Castle for our wedding cake. Man am I glad we did! The cake was absolutely gorgeous and surpassed all expectations we had for it. Not only was it beautiful, but it was DELICIOUS! I have always used cake castle for my cake needs and will forever continue.

Ordered 2 dozen Batman cupcakes to bring to my son’s class 2 day prior and they were a hit.

So i have heard such good things from people about this place. Let me start at i went in a week before i was going to need my cake to see if they can make the cake i wanted. I got the ok so 4 days before i need the cake i call. I got put on hold and the hung up on. I thought well let me call back. The phone stayed busy for over a hr. The very next day i call and get someone on the phone as i start to explain what it was i needed the lady on the phone says ok hang on let me see what it is you calling about. Puts me on hold comes back to the phone says ok i just found out we cant do the cake you wanted. I then say ok well what can we do? She says well we can put a image on the cake. Not what i wanted but i needed a cake and people say they are the best. So I go on to say well i want the helmet from 1972 redskins for my husband who loves them and that was the year he was born. She says well i can do the one we have. I asked ok can we get it off the internet? She says well let me see. Comes back says well i dont think we can i said that was the one i really wanted. She says well we can break the law for you!!! Im now pissed i said ok a simple no we cant do that because it would be against the law would have sufficed. She says i dont know what to tell you. I said let me speak to the manager please. She now gets pissed and says fine. Im so done i hang up and will never do any business with them.

I can see why this is heaven for a cake lover. They have everything you’d need from the finished product to the most obscure ingredients and instruments. If I were inclined to get into baking, there is no doubt this would be my first stop for everything I’d need.
My wife and I came in seeking some very particular designs for cookie cutters. Of course they had them (they were the only shop in the Sacramento area that did) as well as many others designs that we didn’t even think of. She is an excellent baker, so naturally she needed to wander the aisles and was giddy with excitement about all the new recipes and ingredients she came across. They also had cupcakes on display that looked too good to pass up, so naturally we bought some which were all consumed in the next 24 hours. My personal favorite was the carrot cake.
The ladies who greeted us were friendly and helpful. Despite coming in right before closing, they made sure we had everything we needed and didn’t make us feel rushed. I left looking forward to our baking creations and feeling like my wife had been treated like the queen of the Baking Castle!

We tested several cake places and it was a close one between here & freeport bakery, but their champagne cake with fresh strawberry filling won me over. We ordered the champagne cake for our wedding cake and for half of our cupcakes, the other half of the cupcakes I did the chocolate with raspberry filling — which was also delish! Freeport bakery was good, but a bit rich overall.
Lisa and her team did an excellent job with the cake, design, delivery, set up — everything. We rented the cupcake and cake stand from her which worked out perfect. We even get a free anniversary cake on our 1 year anniversary! Which works out well since our top tier of cake got demolished and left in my garage over night after the wedding. haha. Can’t blame the help cleaning up — we still froze it… but it’s seen better days!
I will definitely be buying future desserts there!

They did an amazing job for my wife’s 25^th birthday. The Tiffany & Co cake came out amazing! Definitely recommend this place!

Great place! Friendly staff, came in for a birthday cake for my girlfriend and it was amazing! Red velvet cake was moist and the frosting was amazing, the on hand cupcake selection wasnt the most inviting but the supplies looked very neat and make me want to bake myself!

This spot is great! I ordered a couple of sheet cakes for a holiday event, and not only were they a big hit as the taste was scrumptious, but beautifully decorated, as well.

Cake castle did our wedding cake and dessert table for our July 27^th wedding and it was a hit. Everyone said everything was delicious. It was very convenient and easy to communicate with Julie through email and phone calls. She was very helpful and created a dessert table that was even more beautiful than what I expected. The only thing that made me take off one star was the cake consultation, on that day they were very busy and made us wait for almost 20 – 30 min for our scheduled appointment. My husband almost got up to left. But other than that, Cake castle was great!

This location is quite hidden. I didn’t find out about it until I searched for cake supply stores around Sacramento. This store is fairly small, but they are packed with many supplies that I am unable to get through Michael’s. The price; however, is a lot more expensive. I come here for two reasons, one being that I can’t find it at Michael’s and the other is when I have a time sensitive project which requires me to have the materials sooner than later.
Cake castle also does custom baking for those interested, I am slowly working towards being able to do any custom baking myself so that I don’t have to pay such a price for one done. They also offer some baked goodies on display at the front counter. If the price here was cheaper, I’d be leaving with huge dent in my wallet. but luckily I hold back even though I see so many supplies I want to get from here.

My fiancé, parents and I made an appointment with Cake Castle Bakery for a wedding cake tasting and consultation. We arrived on time and they led us to portion of their show room sectioned off by a room divider/​screen. While we waited, we flipped through their books of past wedding cakes. Most were very dated, seeming to be from the 80’s/90’s.
After waiting for 15 minutes, Julie finally came in to talk with us. After telling her that we had about 100 people on the guest list, Julie showed us a 3 tiered cake and presented it as our only option. Only after asking about sheet cakes did she show us a few sizes for two tiered cake. She wasn’t helpful with design inspiration and went into a super technical, incomprehensible explanation of how designs would be printed onto the fondant. During the initial appointment set up, we were asked to preselect three cake/​filling combinations to taste (chocolate with raspberry, white with mocha, and lemon with lemon filling). The lemon cake wasn’t completely cooked and the top layer of the tiny slice was still semi-​raw. The white cake had no flavor. The mocha was grainy. The frosting seemed to come out of a can.
It appears they use artificial sweeteners of some kind in their cakes without letting people know. I’m allergic to them and had a reaction very shortly after eating the cake. My entire family left feeling sick and tried not to vomit for the next few hours.
Like I mentioned, run as fast and as far away as possible.

I had a gender reveal cake made a couple years ago and it was wonderful! Really made revealing our baby’s gender to our friends and family so special. And the cake was delicious.

If you are into cake decorating, this place is a must see. If you’re not, this place might make you want to get into cake decorating, because they have so many fun little details and devices that make you say, «So THAT’S how they get the cake to look like that!»
The baked goods section looked sad, but hey, you’re here to make your own, not buy them ready made, right? The ready made frosting was also kind of alarming because it comes with a label warning that trans fats kill. Yikes! Again, better to make your own I think.
