This review is for Jani. I purchased a Groupon for an Obagi Blue Peel. I met with Jani for a consult and decided to do a less severe peel. I got an appointment for the next week which was for Tuesday. The results are amazing… my skin looks incredible. I have just booked another service in March with Jani. She know what she is doing. Great staff also.

The both of us had facials and peels numerous of times,
Jani is awesome awesome.
My husband had severe acne on his back, shoulders and face Jani did and magnificent job, she’s kind, caring and very respectful. Thank you for helping us.

I got my eyelids done recently and it was literally the best thing I have done. Dr. Berris and staff were so great I can not thank them enough!

I had an upper and lower blepharoplasty by Dr Berris in March 2015. I found Dr Berris to be very easy to talk to and was thrilled with the outcome. Dr Berris’s staff are wonderful. The front office ladies are extremely helpful and friendly.
Jani the esthetician is fantastic. I’m 66 and have always had skin problems. I’ve gone to estheticians since I was 15 years old. Jani has so improved my skin. It’s simply amazing. I use only 3 products. 2 x Cleansers and 1 Tretincin cream. So it’s really easy to maintain. When she suggested them I thought «Oh no. It’s going to be so expensive»!!! Well I got such a shock as they were extremely reasonably priced. Also if you purchase 4 facials at a time you get 50% off!!! There is not set timeframe to use them and Jani doesn’t try and get you to come in every month. She recommends about every 6 or 7 weeks. I love Jani.

I purchased a Groupon for an Obagi peel. Big red flag there. Originally met with Jennifer for my pre treatment consult. Jennifer was pleasant and reviewed the expectations for the peel and the 4 week minimum pre treatment protocol. I was discouraged from doing an Obagi Blue Peel and instead doing a cheaper less intense peel Unfortunately Jennifer left her job there and I had to deal with Jani. Jani is quite full of herself. Very pretentious. Quite unprofessional. Her eye rolling was out of control! Over a 4 week time period I was instructed to use a bleaching cream twice a week while my skin adjusted to the product, and work up to 7 days a week and twice a day. So over 4 weeks you are to go from 2x/​week to 7x/​week twice a day. Guess the products they sell you must not be that potent if your facial skin can adjust that quickly. Even so, I pretreated well over 4 weeks (9 weeks!) and used the bleaching cream 7x/​week and twice/​day most of the past 5 – 6 weeks. So pretreatment was over the top. Jani just couldn’t imagine doing an Obagi Blue Peel if I hadn’t used the bleaching cream 14x/​week the entire 9 weeks (even though over 4 weeks I was to get up to that point of 14x/​week and would then be prepared for the peel). I told her I could come back in 2 more weeks and use the product the 14x/​week for 2 more weeks since she didn’t feel my skin was ready. She then said that it wouldn’t make any difference to wait and pretreat longer! Meanwhile she kept offering to do a lesser peel (that costs the same price as I paid for the Groupon). Then with more EYE ROLLING, she was appalled that I would use any cleanser besides Obagi. She claimed the Retin A and bleaching creams just would not be very effective if I hadn’t used Obagi’s cleanser. What a joke. I have used Tretinoin and Retin A for years without ever using a $ 40+ face cleanser! I specifically asked her what ingredient (s) in my cleanser caused her concern, so much so that she couldn’t bring herself to give me a peel. She had NO IDEA what was in my cleanser (which by the way is far superior to Obagi in ingredients). She said Obagi gives your skin a certain pH and therefore it is the only thing to use when pretreating. haha.
She also claims the Tretinoin and Obagi & private label bleaching creams sold at the office are only available by prescription. Yet I never saw the doctor there or a pharmacist to dispense, never got a prescription for any of these products, yet was sold them by someone with as little of credentials as an esthetician! She kept huffing and puffing and eye rolling trying to convince me that she was not comfortable doing an Obagi Blue Peel on me, but was totally comfortable doing a glycolic peel formulation that she ‘invented herself’ and compounds the ingredients herself. She had me sign that she wasn’t responsible for the peel if I decided to go forward with the Obagi blue peel I purchased and pretreated with. Obviously she isn’t skilled to do an Obagi blue peel and there was a much greater profit to ‘trade down’ the Groupon for a lesser peel that was no deal with a Groupon. I didn’t want her ruining my face because she didn’t know what she was doing, so I told her to go ahead with the peel I didn’t purchase from Groupon. I did get a refund from Groupon! It seems the majority of Sacramento businesses that I have dealt with through a Groupon purchase have been poor. Either bait and switch… like here. Poor customer service and condescending treatment… also like here and specifically by Jani. This business is a JOKE. Jani and all her plastic surgery is a JOKE. Ladies… RUN AWAY from here and from this Groupon. There is a reason this business is trying to get people in with a Groupon. Bait n switch. When customers are treated like dirt, we are not ever returning or recommending!

I have read the reviews and my review is on Dr Craig Berris. I had my eyes lifted 3 weeks ago. I was VERY skeptikul based on the reviews for this office. In fact I almost cancelled because of them. However; Dr Berris came highly recommended from my eye dr. After calling and having a talk with my eye dr and telling me that he has referred many people over to Dr Berris and they had left very satisfied I trusted this and went with this Dr. I am VERY happy i did. I was a little uneasy for about a week after surgery due tot he swelling. However; I followed his advice and iced my eyes and used the topical cream I was given. All in all my eyes are healing beautifully and I couldn’t be happier. Its 3 weeks post surgery and the swelling has gone down and the «suprised look» has also went away. My eyes look younger and more awake. I researched this surgery all over the net and new what to expect (swelling, some discomfort, stitches, ext…) As for the negative reviews I have not experienced the office behavior or the other stuff mentioned. I have always had a great experience!!! I am happy with the surgery and the end result!!! Thanks Dr Berris!

It was the first time I had Botox injections and was very nervous and the nurses made me feel very comfortable. I am very happy with the results. The Office staff was very nice and I will be a returning customer.

Again I have returned for another facial from Janie. It was wonderful! I found her on groupon and have been back for several other services the offices have to offer. First the women at the desk are always helpful and sweet they have given me lots of things to study and thing about also information packets for friends. I’m 54 years old and never could keep my face routine together. After 8 months of working with Janie people stop me to ask what in doing! My skin has never looked better. She has never sold me excessive product to use, however I buy from her because they are some of the better prices in town. She has given me a typed out daily care sheet which I must say I follow to the letter. It showed from day one! She gives it to you straight. I don’t feel judged in there at all. I told her I was a hot mess looking for help. Seeing is believing. She broke it down to me like this. The daily care is on you, I’m like going to the dentist. Just come as needed. My skin is beautiful tight blemish free. This has been a team effort! I’m amazed that my skin could get to this place. I have referred friends and feel 100% confident that they will be happy to. I personally have not had one bad thing. And I have done work with Kim and Janie. Not to leave out friendly helpful office staff. Sheryl

I would not recommend this place at all. It is clearly not a place that really treats clients personally. My phone was damaged by water and I lost all my appointments. Apparently the doctor’s office computer called me even though once my phone was replaced, I went through all missed calls and voicemails and there was not a call from their computer. I don’t think their computer has the ability to press 1 to leave a message on a cell phone. This place loves to find any reason to charge you a «no-​show» rather than maybe consider why you were a no who. And, when I did go to the appointment, I never saw the doctor even though his name was on all the products. Surprising an esthetician can prescribe a medical grade lotion? Just wondering. They lost hundreds of dollars of business and no reference from me. I have found another place whose interpersonal attention and interest in me and my success are head and shoulders above. The receptionist has this voice and tends to stay very clinical about the patient’s responsibility and cheeringly but condescendingly chastises you about «your responsibilities ma’am» and so forth. Ok, you win; take your money you got without having to lift a finger. That computer notification system of yours has been a good investment. I like doing business with people and business partners — not people who will shove you under the bus and grab their fees without performing the services for it. And, when I did go there for the first consult the esthetician told me all about the superiority of these medical grade products that are far superior than anything available over the counter. Hmmm, later she said she she worked in make-​up at Nordstrom’s. I asked her how she could reconcile selling these medical office products then turn around and knowing she is selling superior grade products at high prices at Nordstrom“s. She kind of stumbled around for words for a minute because she realized the polarity and nervously giggled and said, «Well Nordstrom has some good products». I found a new esthetician who I truly like. 30 years in the business with loyal clientele because she works the honorable way. She developed a personal relationship with ME and I guarantee she will not have a computer call me. She will call me herself and she will wonder if I don’t respond and will personally call me herself to figure what life event — such as a death the family or a sick child, or an unexpected work obligation might have gotten in the way. Purchased a Groupon for Obagi peel. The fine print did say pretreatment required. However, it did not say that it would cost 275 – 400 for the creams you need to put on your face for a few weeks before the peel. Janie Walker is a car dealer typed of sales person who has a sales pitch that I listened to through the door as she said the exact same thing to the lady before me. I was upset and felt that I got scammed. I feel bad for the center because this lady is representing them as a bad business. I was just going to take it as a loss but called Center for cosmetic and eyelid surgery and told then how I felt. The receptionist told me they don’t give refunds. I called Groupon and they gave me a credit to buy another Groupon. DO PURCHASE A GROUPON FOR THE OBAGI PEEL SERVICED BY JANI WALKER… THIS IS A SCAM!!! If you don’t believe me, call and ask them about the pretreatment product cost before the obagi peel.

Here is a letter I wrote to Dr. Berris after he ruined my life and the lives of my children from the chronic nerve pain he gave me. Never received any apology letter from him.
This letter is to inform you of a few things. First of all, I trusted in you for 9 years to help me make my eye look and feel better. In 2004 you tried putting an implant inside the inner part of my right eye. That didn’t work so you removed it in the same surgery. I complained of pain from then on and you told me it was dry eye because my eye was getting too much air. Then you did another surgery February of 2012 to try to fix the dry eye problem again and really made me look like a freak and made the problem worse. After I quit paying your office out of pocket to put filler in my face and eye you decided not to keep me as a patient anymore. In November of 2012 you sent me a registered letter letting me know that you did not want to treat me medically anymore.
Now I find out that my whole problem is nerve damage (not dry eye) from the surgery you did in 2004 that made it start hurting. Then the surgery in 2012 just made it 100 percent worse. I found this out through a doctor that doesn’t even specialize in eyes since all of the eye doctors I went to could not figure it out (amazing).
My eye has gotten worse every day now. I went to Paralegal school for a year and a half to get a career and I can’t even work. I can’t even be on a computer for over ten minutes and my eye is in excruciating pain. I wake up all hours of the night in pain. I am in pain all day off and on. I am in Pain Management to try and keep the pain at a minimal level which is not working either and living on Norco
I just wanted you to know what I am going through now since you told the disability office that I was able to work. I am not able to work. No one is going to hire someone that has an eye that is red and deformed horribly and is noticeably in pain because the white of my eye is so red and I can’t keep it open.
This letter is to inform you that I am not happy with the services I received from you and you need to be educated about nerve damage so it won’t happen to someone else.

I’ve decided to update my post in response to a private message I received from Kristina M. at Dr. Berris ’ office.
Here are highlights from her message:
«Thanks for the feedback and we apologize for the bad experience you had with our office. I assure you that Marge is an excellent aesthetic injector; she trains many physicians and nurse’s on her injection techniques. As you know there are risks and possible side effects with Botox and dermal fillers. It’s unfortunate this happened to you. «
I’d like to address this point by point. First, a simple apology would have sufficed. Instead, Kristina dismisses the facts and pseudo places blame on the product and myself. I am offended by her attempt to convince me that Marge is excellent at what she does. My results tell a different story. And shouldn’t the adjective «excellent» be reserved for only those whose work is consistently excellent? I mean, was I unlucky customer number 50? Either you know basic human anatomy or you don’t and clearly Marge does not. But apparently, Kristina would encourage you to play Russian roulette with the one thing you cannot hide, your face. No thanks! Further, I am well aware of the side effects of Botox and dermal fillers. That’s why I get them. The only risk is having it performed by an inept and incompetent aesthetician and it is truly unfortunate that I didn’t do more research before placing my confidence in Marge. Lastly, (attn: Kristina) please provide me with the name of the company Marge trains for so I may file a complaint with them. Also, I would like a list of the physicians and nurse’s she trains so I may avoid treatment from these folks in the future.

I have no idea why there are such negative reviews for Jani. I have seen her a handful of times, initially for my obaji blue peel through Groupon, and have had no bad experiences. In fact, I liked her so much, I will not bother going elsewhere. If your looking for a spa type experience facial, I suggest going somewhere else, but if your looking for someone to get the job done and make your skin look better, she is the one. To counter other negative reviews, I’ve had no trouble with scheduling, never had her act in a rude way to me, never had her push product on me, and was never even closely refused a service, such as a peel. To each his own, but some of the comments on here were very judgmental and should have been kept out of the review.

The service so sucks. specially her sales person name Jani. I already make app 2 weeks ago. and 3 days before my app they called me and just said if they have to cancel my app because they are overbook. And Jani never apologizes. she’s so rude. and in the beginning when I called to make app for blue peel facial. but Jani told me. I can’t because I have to pre-​treatment first. But in the beginning nobody explain to me. After that Jani just said she can’t take my app anymore she’s refuse me and told me it’s not gonna work and she’s just hang up the phone. It’s really really no maners at all. no wonder they got low score. bad reviews all the time because they are unprofessional. So. my advice. before you guys make app with this doctor. please think twice or at least read the reviews first.

I’m now dropping my rating from 2 stars to 1 star, here’s why. I have received a few personal messages from Jani and her attack dogs for my very HONEST REVIEW. I had a horrible experience and I wasn’t the only person to endure this. Hopefully, Jani will learn the error of her ways.
P. S. After my review SUDDENLY 7 or 8 BRAND NEW Unilocal PROFILES popped up with 5 star reviews. Suspicious much?

Jani has been my esthetician for 10 years and she is amazing! The lady who says negative things is a crazy B

Short version: unprofessional, disorganized disaster of a practice.
My wife was referred to this doctor due to a cancerous growth on her eyelid. Very little about our experience was positive. We arrived for her appointment fifteen minutes early. There was no staff to be seen but we could hear them chatting somewhere out of view of the waiting room. A few minutes later, someone finally came to the desk, and my wife let her know that she was there for her appointment. She was asked to take a seat. Usual procedure, no big deal.
The doctor shares his office with some kind of permanent makeup artist. This lady has a TV set up in the waiting room, but instead of being able to watch TV, she has an advertisement for her permanent makeup business on a continuous ~3 minute loop, and it is LOUD, so you can’t just ignore it. More on this later.
We waited for her appointment. Her appointment time came and went, and we waited. We waited some more. And then we waited some more. Finally, about 50 minutes past the time of her appointment, we were shown to the exam room. There was no apology for the wait, and during the wait, there was no communication from the staff, who were too busy chatting about their personal lives to give a damn about what was going on. Meanwhile, the entire time we were subjected to that continuous loop of advertisement over and over and over as though the purpose of the waiting room was to drive patients insane for the amusement of the unprofessional staff.
We were shown to the exam room, my wife’s blood pressure, etc., were measured, and we waited. And waited some more. And waited a bit more. 15 minutes later, the good doctor finally made his way in the room. He seemed pleasant, but frazzled. He examined my wife’s eyelid, made some recommendations, and based on those recommendations she elected to have another biopsy done.
The doctor left the room, and again we waited. And waited. Meanwhile, we heard the doctor and one of his staff getting into a loud argument right outside the door. My wife and I looked at each other in disbelief. Finally, 10 minutes later or so, the good doctor returned, performed the procedure on my wife and sent us on our way.
On our way out, we passed by the desk, unsure of what we needed to do for a copay. The staff ignored us, so we called for their attention. She looked at my wife and said,
«Oh, I have no idea what is going on with that.»
And just left it hanging there as though it was our responsibility to figure it out for her. My wife said,
«Well, when you figure it out, send me a bill.»
And we left.
A week or two later, my wife got a call from the office confirming that her growth was, in fact cancer, and that they would like schedule an appointment that week for a later date. My wife asked to talk with the doctor to go over a few things and the lady on the phone said he doesn’t take phone calls, that she would have to set up an appointment for consultation to talk with him. My wife tried to ask the lady on the phone several questions and she couldn’t answer any of them. My wife informed her that she was breastfeeding and either needed advise on whether or not the surgery medication was going to be harmful to our baby, or she needed to talk to our pediatrician to see what our options were, whether we needed to start weaning our child… you know, she need information so she could make an informed decision. The woman on the phone was unhelpful in that regard, so my wife responded that she had an upcoming appointment with our pediatrician and that she would schedule the appointment after she spoke to the pediatrician. The woman responded in the affirmative and ended the conversation. The woman on the phone was even rude because my wife didn’t want to immediately set-​up an appointment that instant because she wanted to talk to her family doctor first.
A week or so went by, and we got a certified letter from the doctor. Assuming it was the results of her biopsy, my wife opened it, and to her shock it was a letter from Dr. Berris informing her that he would no longer accept her as a patient because she had taken longer than a week to schedule her treatment.
NOWHERE AND AT NO TIME WAS MY WIFE INFORMED OF THIS URGENCY. They did not tell us that they would cancel everything if we didn’t talk to them within a week’s time. She has f***ing cancer for Christ’s sake, and the best these idiots can do is send her this kind of a letter? I am so angry right now that I can hardly control myself.
I have never, in all my 35 years of life, experienced such disorganized, unprofessional, and frankly, incompetent treatment from any kind of medical staff. If this is how they behave with a life threatening condition, imagine how they’ll treat you for something less important.
Avoid as though your life depends on it.

Dont know much about Dr Berris but I DO know lots about his cosmetic nurse, Marge Griffith, RN. She is AMAZING! I drive all the way from Redding, CA to have her fantastic laser treatments, Botox, and liquid facelift treatments. She is soooooo good at what she does! I am a RN as well and a cosmetic dermatology nurse in Redding and she is so much better than the RN’s I worked with, including the dermatologist. I love the results and she knows her stuff. Ladies, there is no one else that can lift, smooth and make u look fantastic then Marge! JUST DO IT!!!

I know three people who had their eyelids done here and all three came out asymmetrical.
