Best Service ever! Consistent over the years. We have used Davey for our tree pruning for many years and they never disappoint. This time working with my schedule and Mother Nature’s (rain) to accomplish pruning many trees and a complete clean up afterward. Thanks to Rick Close, manager who is a consumate professional!

So, these guys trimmed my neighbors’ trees and left tons of leaves and branches in my yard. I asked them to pick it up and they said they already did!!! I got them to do some more but they did the absolute minimum! I will never hire these guys!
Within one hour of posting the original complaint, Rick, a manager showed up at my house. He agreed that the cleanup was not good and he offered to rake up the leaves! I told him not to bother but he insisted. Wow! Very impressive service! I must change my rating. Any business doing this has my vote.

We knew our trees had grown beyond our ability to groom them. With all the weather reports of an El Niño winter coming, we knew we wanted them professionally trimmed– we’ve spent too many years taking care of them to risk loosing them to a non– professional.
Matt came out for the estimate and we discussed what I wanted & what could be done.
Danny & Max were out yesterday as promised. They worked very efficiently, always making sure we were happy with what was being done. Our trees look amazing, our yard looks wonderful– they clean as they go & beyond the fresh cut on the trees you’d never know 4 large trees had been pruned. Excellent job– thank-​you Davey Tree!

Amazing. My insurance carrier sent them after a tree fell on my house. 3 hours after the tree crashed Davey had an adjuster at the house and a tarp over the hole in my roof. This was on a Sunday. The tree was removed on Monday, and they re-​secured the tarp. They cleaned up after themselves. Can’t ask for better service.

The most professional, knowledgeable company I’ve ever used. They had to stay off the roof, and work around a built in bench, wheel chair ramp and a fence and gate. Nothing was touched. The two trees they removed were pine trees around 24 inches in diameter and 60 feet high. Before they left on the second day they cleaned up so well you’d never know these trees were removed.

I recently bought a home in Folsom and the many trees on the property were neglected for many many years. Had Davey Tree come out and advise me on what care the various trees required. Some needed trimming and total reshaping and others needed full removal. They responded to my initial call quickly and had an estimate with in a week. They finished the work in about a month. I am very pleased with both the service and the pricing. Definitely would recommend them to whoever asked.

I recently had a tree project to install 7 trees (3 redwoods, 3 Maples, 1 elm) all in 24 inch boxes. After getting bids from about 6 different companies we decided on Davey because of their good reputation and because Anatoliy was very professional knowledgeable and willing to work with my budget. Day of install Anatoliy was onsite to make sure everything was done correctly which I appreciated.
I really want to commend Javier, Max and Pasqual for their work on install. They were FANTASTIC, professional and went out of their way to makes sure everything was done to my satisfaction, even going so far as to help suspend my neighbor’s tree because it was a hazard to the new trees. I can’t thank the whole team from Davey Tree enough. I’ve already recommended them to my friends who are thinking about geting some trees installed. Thanks!

I went online to schedule an appointment for someone to come out and look at some trees I needed cleaned up. Within an hour I was contacted and within a few hours Anatoliy was at my home providing a bid. He was very friendly and helpful and even offered to grind out some tree trunks we had previously cut down. He provided a bid while he was there and let me know they were 4 weeks out. I let him know the sooner they could complete the work the better it worked for us. He was able to keep me scheduled within 2 weeks.
On the day of the scheduled work, Anatoliy and three other men showed up at my house right on time. Anatoliy went over with his men what work was to be completed so as not to miss anything and they did a fantastic job. They were completely professional and very thorough.

I called to set up an estimate appointment to have a redwood tree removed. I called them because they are a well-​known company and our tree had lost a branch a few weeks before and damaged our roof; the last straw was when a branch fell off and landed on our neighbor’s car. It was on the morning of this particular incident that I spoke with a man at Davey (can’t recall his name.) When I spoke to him, it was clear he didn’t want to make the trip out to our home. He asked when our house was built and based on that gave me an estimate of $ 2,000. He then tried to sell me insurance for my tree as an alternative to cutting it down for over $ 300 a year (seriously.) I asked when they could come do the job and was told sometime in a month or so. When I pressed for something more specific, I got nada. During the conversation he laughed at my descriptions and made me feel like a total moron, not saying I know a lot about trees, but I know enough about customer service not to laugh at potential clients. It really felt like he had no desire for our business, so I fulfilled that wish. I called Bud’s Tri County and they were at my home within an hour and a half to give me an estimate and within 24 hours my tree was gone, for about ¹⁄₃ of the price Davey quoted (or just over 2 years worth of Davey’s tree insurance.) When things go wrong and you’re going to have to shell out quite a bit of money to make it right, you hope for at least a minimal amount of effort & kindness and not to get totally price gouged– Davey failed on all of these fronts.

I had a great experience with Davey Tree. I want to give a shout out to my arborist Anatoliy, who did a fantastic job. He was so responsive and answered all of my questions and concerns. After calling other places and asking my neighbors, Anatoliy gave me the best price possible. I’m really happy with the work too. My tree looks amazing. I will definitely use them again for my next project.

I am extremely satisfied with the service I received from Davey. I needed a huge Costal Redwood tree removed from my back yard. I called on a Wednesday and a represenative came out the next day. I received confirmation of the reasonable bid on Friday, approved it and a team came out on the following Monday. The company sent out four men, two truck with grinders and it took five hours of work to remove it. The site was left clean. I can’t say enough positive about the communication and the service I received.

Well, the tree is trimmed.
We called and scheduled an appointment for someone to come out to give an estimate this summer. I took off work to make it… and no one showed up. When I called, the person that I spoke to on the phone hadn’t even written it down.
So, someone came out at the end of the day, gave a (pricy) estimate and I called back later to hire them. When I called, they said that our half-​day job wouldn’t fit neatly into their schedule and that I would have to wait for an opening. They never called me back!
Fast forward three months. A few of us on the street combined our jobs and hired them to do a full day’s job trimming two large trees. We cleared our schedules, hired childcare, and less than an hour before go time, we got an email saying that they were rescheduling us! No explanation in the note, either.
My husband called and gave them an earful. The excuse? They had been hired to take care of a fallen tree out of town. An emergency (that would have made them more money, I am sure). After the conversation, they rethought their plan (thankfully) and came to do the job.
They did a good job. They cleaned up after themselves. They were expensive. It is over.
It was a lot of work up front to get the whole thing to happen, with too many issues on the follow-​through to really recommend them. I would use them again, but only out of necessity.

I had a great experience with Davey Tree when I needed a big, beautiful, but declining Modesto Ash cut down– it was splitting down the trunk and wasn’t long for this world. I got three estimates, and Davey was by far the most affordable. My arborist, Matt, was awesome! I have since planted a new street tree to replace the one we had to remove, and I asked Matt to come over and take a look at it because I was concerned that it was root-​bound. Matt stopped by, made a little cut in the roots and explained why the tree would be fine, and he also answered my questions about another tree that always drips sap. He told me how to treat the infestation. All this, and no charge! He’s really friendly and knowledgeable, too.
I’ll call them next time I need any tree services.

Being a Realtor, I decided to follow my own advice and get 3 bids from 3 reputable tree services to prune and shape various trees. Matt, (a Certified Arborist) came to my home and assessed my situation. Davey’s bid was not the lowest, but not the highest. Because of the professional assessment and knowledge that Matt displayed, I decided to go with Davey. After reading another «review» that was not very complimentary, I must admit I was a little nervous. Matt came out to my home with his crew who did a FANTASTIC job, very polite, making sure that what they were doing met my satisfaction. I love my big African Sumac now. It can breath and the sun filters through. The crew did a clean up job beyond my expectations. I was especially impressed that the crew was very careful not to disturb a nest that was nestled in some branches. Thanks Matt, thanks crew… I will certainly recommend you to friends and clients.

We hired Davey, soley because my wife wanted ‘professionals’ to trim our larger trees instead of me. The experience started off well enough — Davey sent a license Arborist to our house. We told him what we wanted and he wrote it all down and gave us an estimate. Compared to other places the estimate was fairly high for how small the job was, but we went with it.
Flashforward to the actual guys who showed up to do the work (definitely not licensed anything), and two hours later the hack job they did on the trees almost literally my wife in tears. They did nothing as we had described we wanted it done. The work order said ‘prune lightly’ and we were left with trunks/​stumps.
