You will receive the best care from Dr Kahan. I have been seeing him religiously for the last several months due to a severe foot trauma. He is so easy going and really cares for his patients and truly listens to you. I feel well cared for by him and his team of professionals.

Basically I had an ingrown toenail from hell, I neglected to get it taken care of for way too long because I was nervous to get the procedure done. With all the horror stories online and my own mother (who has had four ingrown toenail removals) telling me that I was going to die… I figured I would just let my toe fall off before going to a doctor.
Well after a while it got so bad that I could not even wear socks with out feeling discomfort so I did a little research and found Dr. Kahan. I called on Monday, could have gone in that day but I needed one more day to prepare myself — so, I went in on the following Tuesday.
At this point my toe is sensitive to even the cold air outside, so you could imagine how nervous I was to have work done on it but Dr. Kahan is an actual angel. He has a very warm personality and is super easy to joke around with. I was instantly at ease after the first few jokes. I felt no pain the entire procedure and I was in his office for no more than 30 minutes.
Two days after the procedure now and my toe is looking and feeling fabulous.
I made a Unilocal account just to be able to write this review! Can’t say enough good things. I hope I don’t have to make a visit to Dr. Kahan anytime soon or at all really but if I had to get the work done again — he is hands down my first and only choice.

If I could I would give this excellent doctor and his staff 1,000 stars. Dr. Kahan is absolutely the best doctor I have ever had. He and his staff never fail to make me feel welcome. Dr. Kahan is in a class of health care professionals that is extremely difficult to find these days. What I mean by that is this, He cares! He truly does. He has been taking care if my feet for approximately 14 years, and I have NEVER had a bad experience with him or his staff. Amber, Juanita, and Marcia are always welcoming and accommodating, even though they are always busy. So, if you are in need of foot care, my honest and whole hearted opinion is that you won’t find a better podiatrist anywhere. Dr. David Kahan and his staff are absolutely the very best! You won’t be disappointed.

Dr. Kahan is a breath of fresh air in my experience with the medical world. He offered a truly collaborative spirit of consultation rather than the all too common authoritarian mandate that I’ve encountered with other med professionals. He offered great insights concerning my foot health issues and left me feeling generally empowered with my options going forward. i’d recommend him without reservation.
As a minor note (in reaction to other reviewers) the woman I encountered on the phone as well as at the front desk was professional, courteous, and friendly. No problem at all.

Please kindly note, the phone operator is extremely unprofessional. Dr. Kahan needs to find himself new staff before he begins to lose business. I’ve never been to this business. I’m sure he is an outstanding physician; however, his phone operator is out of control. It is not anyone’s problem that you cannot work under stress. Do not treat people in that way, especially clients of your own boss. FYI.

Very pleased with my appointment yesterday. Dr. Kahan was knowledgeable about current treatment modalities, was very nice, spent a lot of time with me and did a very thorough exam of my foot (and shoes!). The art of doing an actual physical exam seems to have been lost by many human doctors — who only seem to rely on diagnostic tests and never touch the patient. It was great to actually have a doctor spend time doing an exam, and asking and answering questions many questions, without making me feel rushed. The receptionist was kind of rude and abrupt on the phone but was a little nicer in person. I’d highly recommend Dr. Kahan.

I went to this doctor because his reviews were great! I do not have any complaints about Dr. Kahan at all. He is good doctor. He seemed knowledgeable in treating my toenail fungus. On the first appointment, he treated my nail with a laser and told me to come back in a few weeks.
Now, the front desk staff is a whole another story. When I made the appointment, the woman on the woman was rude, short and unprofessional. When I went to the appointment, I realize the same woman (juanita) was working. She had this attitude and aggressive vibe about her. I told her I didn’t get a chance to fill out the new patient paperwork and she had a smart reply about it. «That’s why we send the paperwork to you» is what I believe she said. She finally found my insurance info after half hour of me waiting. Overall, she made me feel so uncomfortable that I told myself I would never want to encounter her again.
Therefore, I have not returned to dr kahan. So there you go, your front desk staff is extremely important to your place is business. I have found another podiatrist since then. Its a shame!

Dr. Kahan is awesome (even though he’s a Dodgers fan)!!! Very knowledgable, excellent bed side manner, hilarious, and he listens to your needs/​complaints. If you have a foot problem see Dr. Kahan! You won’t regret it!

My daughter visited me over the holidays, arriving in a walking boot given to her by an emergency room in Southern California. As it had been two weeks, and because her foot was still too painful to walk on, I urged her to find a podiatrist in Sacramento to talk to. She chose Dr. David Kahan, who saw her immediately. X-​rays confirmed his opinion that she had several fractures across the top of her toes, and she went home with a cast from toe to knee. She returned to Dr. Kahan halfway through the subsequent six weeks to have her cast replaced when it got wet, and again he squeezed her into his already busy day. We are grateful to Dr. Kahan for his professionalism and for his attention to his patients.

Phenomenal Doc. David L kahan is very easy to feel comfortable with especially with feet like mine! I’m going and starting treatment for toenail fungus today so results will take time but I already feel like a winner just receiving good information and what to expect. I really appreciate. The honesty he brings to the table. Very few will always tell you what you want to hear to get into your pocket… but not him whatsoever. This is the place to be if your looking! Not to mention the Front Desk Woman is bilingual and sweet. spanish/​english so do not wait anymore… Fantastic Team. Thank You so much today.

I can only comment on their customer service, and I think it’s outstanding. I was called back by Dr. Kahan, and I was transferred to him, too, the two times I’ve made contact, and each time was a very pleasant talk with both the receptionist/​secretary and the doctor.
It turns out that my insurance covers my needs fully, but Dr. Kahan is not under that insurance, so I will go with that instead. However, if I’m disappointed with what I get, I will definitely make Dr. Kahan the next course of action.
Thank you for valuing your potential customers to this extent — all in all, an uncommon level of respect and character these days. :)

I’ve had toe nail fungus for almost 20 years, and had tried all kind of over-​the-​counter and prescription products. No medicine ever got rid of the problem and were a pain (metaphorically) to apply every day, so I finally figured that I had nothing to lose by stopping the medications. I was wrong. The fungus spread, and soon it was on 7 toes — plus one finger. The finger is what pushed me into laser treatment, which I had avoided because of the expense (and it wasn’t covered by my insurance).
After researching various options in Sacramento, Dr. Kahan was my first choice. Because the infected area on many of my toes was so thick, Dr. Kahan was very candid about not having a good chance for success and leaving the decision up to me about whether or not to try it. He did not pressure me in any way at all, so it was clear to me that my welfare, rather than his profit, was his higher priority. I went for it.
I’m so happy! Just to be sure that he cured every one of my 8 infected digits, Dr. Kahan gave me a fourth treatment today. And, he didn’t even charge me.
Furthermore, Dr. Kahan has always been very nice to be with and his staff has always been helpful. In several ways (including a billing problem I once had), he has always shown the highest integrity and competence.

AAHHHH! Thats the sound of relief. Its been about 3 weeks since my ingrown toenail surgery and my toe is healing and looks great. I never had toenail problems before, until about 4 months ago i made the mistake of cutting my toenails in not the best light, and hunked a big piece of my toenail and tore it all down the side. Needless to say it grew back ingrown. I refused to go to the Dr because i thought i could fix it on my own. WRONG! After months of trimming at it, it was so sore and swollen and infected that i couldnt take it anymore i needed to see a Dr. Only problem is I don’t have any insurance so im paying out of my pocket. I started calling podiatrist in my area to get a price and the earliest apt available. This place was not only the most reasonable, but he said he could see me the same day! Upon arrival i was very nervous after watching the you tube video on ingrown toenail surgery the night before. The Dr assured me i wouldn’t feel a thing and i would be able to walk out of there when he was done. Sure enough, everything was fine and after a couple days it had already started to heal and I was pain free. THANK YOU!

Best podiatrist in Sacramento. He saved my feet from being cut off. I am a diabetic and my feet were in the worst shape imaginable due to the lack of care from the VA hosp. at Mather. He’s very thorough, and tough. It’s by his rules, and if you can take the truth and his being straighforward, then he can help you. This is one amazing doctor. I can’t recommend his services enough. He’s that good of a doctor. He does take medical and medicare. Plus other types of insurance. I have been seeing him over 10 years, and still have both of my feet and all of my toes.
