Dr. Wong has great a great staff and genuine care for each and every patient. I highly recommend!

Dr. Wong and his entire staff are awesome! They all provided such superior service that I almost didn’t realize I was at a dental office! I was very impressed by the way Dr. Wong was so patient and informative and took his time explaining about every detail and step to my 9 year old son and I during our individual exams. You can sense he truly enjoys his profession! I highly recommend Dr. Wong and his friendly staff!

Dr. Wong (and his assistant, whose name I forgot, unfortunately) was great.
— He spent more time than any dentist ever has just on the exam (looking for cavities, sensitive spots, etc., and asking me a lot of questions and giving me a lot of advice specific to my minor issues).
— He did the cleaning himself (never had that happen before) AND he did it amazingly quickly. Even the spot with the most plaque, he just blasted it off with the water pik and somehow took care of it really quickly. I’m so upset when hygienists (due to being too rushed, too worried about being rough, or both) don’t actually get my teeth clean, but Dr. Wong did a quick and great job.
— He is, in his own words, «not an aggressive dentist»; i.e., he doesn’t want people to spend the time and money having work done if it’s not fully necessary. For example, he told me I had a cavity starting to form but that I should be able to keep it in check with proper brushing. He kept telling me my teeth were, overall, pretty great, and stressed proper brushing and flossing above anything else.
— He was super-​friendly and kind. When it comes to medical care, I would take a highly skilled awkward person or even a highly skilled jerk over a friendly person who did less good of a job, but I’m all for having the best of both worlds, when possible!
Everyone there was equally laid back and friendly. Also, they have a nifty panorama x-​ray machine, something I’ve never seen before.

I just had my first examination/​visit to Dr. David Wong, DDS and found him so patience with me, knowledgable, kind, calm and explained what he was going to do, and did a thorough exam of teeth, gums, and tongue and inside of mouth to make sure free of any cancer signs. The staff were very nice and the offices are clean, calming and professional and was not make to wait. Dr Wong was just wonderful. I would recommend him to anyone even if they are nervous of dentists which I am not. My whole visit was a delight and will keep him as long as he works. Plenty of parking in rear which is were the main entrance is anyway. I have gont to three dentists in my adult life all in SF, but Dr. Wong is the nices and so easy to communicate with and ask questions. He will explain anything you ask or do not understand. I have been with Dr. Wong for 20 years. He is professional and handles his business! The dental assistants are awesome and very patient. Maggie rocks. I love my deep him cleaning and am always well taken care of. If you have Delta Dental get Dr. Wong!!!

Dr. Wong is a great and honest dentist. He won’t tell you that you need work done just to earn extra money, unlike another dentist I had to go to because my insurance temporarily changed. I need to remember his name and Unilocal him! I believe it was Dr. Ramsey; I made an appointment with this Dr. Ramsey for cleaning and because my teeth were hurting. He said I had like 6 or 8 cavities and that it’d be free to get silver filling and $ 400/​per tooth for the white filling! Since my last appointment with Dr. Wong was only a year prior, I didn’t go back to the other dentist. I brush and floss twice a day so it couldn’t have been THAT bad! I am now able to go back to Dr. Wong since my insurance changed. WHAT A RELIEF TO BE BACK!
Some of my teeth are still sensitive at times and Dr. Wong asked if I grind my teeth. I know I have waken up to it before so he told me the grinding causes many symptoms and sensitivity is one of them. He suggested I try a mouth guard at night, which was made to mold my teeth (only do this if you are a good or deep sleeper because they’re uncomfortable!). I tried it last night and was able to sleep. I hope this will take away the sensitivity (fingers crossed)!

Dr. Wong and his staff do an amazing job at not only taking care of your teeth, but also taking care of you. Even though I was college student and had a super busy schedule for four years, they always made it a priority to squeeze me in their schedule. Their receptionist is very friendly and so understanding whenever I need to change my appointment or make a last minute appointment. They really understand the definition of customer service.
About the doctor: Dr. Wong is a very nice and sweet person. I’m always impressed whenever he remembers facts about me and asks me how those things are going, especially since I only see him during school breaks, which only happens about once every six months. He is also very patient with his patients. ;) He never rushes through the job, and always makes sure my questions are answered before I go. Once, he even called up orthodontists in the bay area for me, when I told him I was going to school over there. You’d think he’d just have the receptionist do all this work. But he actually called me back himself with THREE phone numbers of great orthodontists he’d recommend I see! Needless to say, I was very surprised to get a phone call from Dr. Wong himself.
Plus, Dr. Wong speaks both Chinese and English very well (and I’d say about half his assistants are bilingual as well), so it’s perfect for us Asians whose family/​parents may not perfectly speak or understand English.
About their office: Being a dental place and all, I expect nothing but cleanliness, especially since they are dealing with disgusting germs and spit all the time. I can confidently say that Dr. Wong’s office is neat and orderly, and most importantly, clean! I’ve been to some other dentists around Sacramento, and unfortunately, I can’t say the same for other dental offices. I never counted the number of patient rooms, but there’s tons! (Definitely more than 2) My only complaint would be that the patient rooms are separated only by a wall (no doors), which may make it a little noisy if the person next wall to you is super loud. But I’ve been their patient for 10 years now, and I’m going to keep on coming as long as I live in Sacramento!

Dr Wong and his staff are all exceptionally friendly and do an incredible job. I appreciate that this is a practice that doesn’t constantly try to upsell products or services that I don’t need. (Having an uncle that is also a denist confirms this everytime he visits California)
For routine cleanings, the bulk of the work is done by one of the dental assistants, who you’re usually assigned to for every appointment. I appreciate this, because you get to form a relationship with the people and not just passed on to whomever is open.
The location is at the corner of Greenhaven and South Land Park, so very easily accessible for anyone in the Pocket, South Land Park, or Meadowview neighborhoods. Worth noting that their appointments are packed tight, so needing to reschedule your appointment might result in an additional months-​long wait.

Great dentist. Easy to talk to. The entire staff is very friendly and nice. I’ve know him for 15+ years. Tell him Jamie Kong sent you!
