I have been going to Manisha for years. While she has changed locations it is worth the trip. She does a wonderful job. I love what she has done for my brows! She is quick and affordable.

I got my legs waxed for the first time almost a year ago. I went here because this was the cheapest place I could find.
Well she did get the job done. I got what I paid for. But damn the woman does not know how to take social cues at all. Her questions got more and more invasive and at one point we were discussing what medications I was taking. And the side effects. Really now? I am one of those people who doesn’t know how to speak up when the conversation gets weird, I just feel bad telling the person. This was easily one of the most awkward conversations I’ve had in my LIFE. I’d rather pay ten extra bucks to spare myself the embarrassment.

I called Desi threading to make an appointment for a full face threading, and ask a few questions about Nova lash. I told her I wanted to set an appointment to get both done (since I was driving from 2 hours away!) I show up, on October 21,2015 1:00pm and she tells me that I only made an appointment for threading, and she didn’t understand me on the phone. OK… I can deal with that… Language barrier and all, who cares if I drove 2 hours for a 10 min appointment. My threading went okay… it was my first time doing full face threading, didn’t really know what to expect… until she tried to rip my damn mole off my face… I immediately started bleeding, to which she giggles,“what was that? A pimple?” Ummm… No! You tried to rip a mole off because you weren’t taking your time, to do the job correctly! Must be because she is so experienced! Then… Her little comments… «your hair is so long» (duh! That’s why I’m paying you 35 $ to rip it out!!) «Why don’t you wax? I do waxing too.» Um… because I’ve done my research and this is what I favor, shouldn’t you be trying to sell me on this? Since it’s only a tradition women from your country have used for 1000’s of years?
But all that didn’t stop me (stupid!), I tipped her (regretfully) I made a second appointment. This time I was sure to say threading AND novalash… Then I waited for November 12,2015 12:00 pm.
That day came, I showed up to do threading first… More comments, more «Ugh» eveytime her thread snapped… Just a terrible mood all around. Probably because she is losing her place… but that’s not really my problem, I’m here to pay you for the services you offer, and if your going to work with the public being a grumpy Gus does not get you return clients. Return clients=more$$$ so you can pay rent.
DO NOT! I REPEAT DO NOT go to Manisha for nova lash. I see now why her clients in the after pics on her Facebook are not smiling! First thing, your first appointment for Nova lash should take about 2 hours. Mine took 3 ½. For what it counts I did have to leave for about 15 mins to move my car. But 3 hours on that uncomfortable table is enough to give anyone restless legs and anxiety. But I was so excited to see the final result! During the nova lash application, she kept telling me that she was trying to «cheat» but it wasn’t working and they were falling off. Very counterproductive. Mind you, I do have very fine blond lashes, but I have also done hours of research and watching videos, and I have seen some beautiful lashes on girl with similar eyes. Glue kept getting in my eyes and they were watering like crazy!
Finally, I get to open my eyes, I was horrified by what I saw on my face! I immediately started freaking out and asked her to take them off, to which she replied,“all of them? Here let me take a picture like this so you can see, if you don’t think its pretty I’ll take them off.” So she starts taking pictures for the top of my head, looking down. Okay??? That’s great! Because people took at me from the front, I look at me from the front! And I look like a whore with clumpy spider web lashes! She didn’t seem to get it, she said she did… But no. I had her remove some from each eye to kind of thin them out… I asked for a little longer then natural, with short lashes on the inside and tapered out to long, she glued 14’s through out my whole eye! She blamed it on my eyelash growth… That’s funny, because never in my life have half of my lashes been curled into my eyeball! I paid her the stupid 200 $ and stormed out, shaking, completely irate! She just lost a great potential returning customer… and probably a few others, because I will make sure any and everyone I know doesn’t go there.
PS this is my very first Unilocal review. I set up this whole account, downloaded the app, and typed all of this out because I’m THAT upset with my service.
Now to spend the next 30&45 mins steaming my face and olive oiling these glue matted eyelashes off so I can go in public. 4 hours (not counting 4 hr drive time) and 165 $ lashes down the drain!

I love love love Desi Threading! I started coming here about a year ago and my eyebrows were a mess. I had been getting them threaded for a long time elsewhere but the shape had gone from arched and full to super thin and round. I am very very picky when it comes to my eyebrows so I was nervous to try someone new but I am so happy that I did!
Over the past year, Manisha has «trained» my eyebrows to grow as she likes to say! She has completely fixed the shape and allowed them to look nice and full again. She is fast, her prices are good and she always give you a good laugh! I wouldn’t go to anyone else!

Very friendly and professional service. Competitive pricing and a lovely clean space. I plan to return to each time I need my eyebrows and lip threaded

First time here and it was great! Waited about 2 mins then Manisha worked her magic… 2 mins on each eyebrow was all it took for her to clean them up and give ‘em some shape. Not gonna lie tho, it freakin hurt! Lol But She was very friendly from start to finish. The prices are decent too. $ 7 for first timers and $ 12 after that. Got a little confused finding the place, but I asked for directions and got there in no time. I will be back!

Came here for the first time and had Manisha thread my eyebrows. She’s super fast and meticulous, and it was one of the more painless threading experiences I’ve had!
I had asked for the top arch to be more rounded but she explained that it wouldn’t show my natural arch as well — I appreciated her advice and think she was right.
I’m accustomed to going to Indian aunty’s homes for threading where I’m from, but it was nice to get the salon experience. It does come with a more premium price however. It was also a bit of a maze both finding the parking lot and then finding the salon from there, so give yourself a couple extra minutes the first time!

I’m a big fan of a Manisha’s work. She got my brows to the place where they were in the top 5 of best brows ever. That hollywood brow look is a thing. And man is it awesome.
Threading hurts like hell. There’s nothing to be done about that. Beauty is painful. Enjoy the free parking and take your fierce new brows to the mall for some new shoes. They’ll make you feel better.

Manisha is a truly beautiful individual. I have had 2 facials from her & have been very happy with both. My face felt wonderful when she was done & I did not have any irritation. Glad I found her.

I have been coming here for my eyebrows for about 7 months now. Prior to coming here, I have always had my eyebrows waxed. I was tired of different people doing different shapes each time and waxing too much hair off, so I decided to try Desi Threading out after reading good reviews. Manisha has done my eyebrows every time, and she makes sure they are both even and gives me the shape I want. I will tell you that if your brows are not even due to waxing or plucking or there’s not enough hair to give you the shape you desire, it does take awhile for it to grow back. It is a process for me personally to get my brows to grow in enough, but she has done an excellent job each time and is very professional. I will keep coming here!

Manisha is great at what she does. She’s very welcoming and did fabulous work on my eyebrows! The environment is very clean and serene. So happy that I found this place.

If I could give this place zero stars I would. I have been getting my brows threaded for years. However, my Threader moved and this place was more convenient. Manisha f’d up my brows!!! I told her I wanted a sharper arch and she left one super thin and the other thicker they look completely different this has never ever happened before! When I told her one was thinner she said «no it’s not» made me take a picture so I could see that they were the same well, I showed her the picture where clearly you can tell and I will upload pic for all of you to see, she still said I was lying! If you love your brows do not go here she will destroy them! :(

I rarely write negative reviews but I feel compelled to write one about this business. First off, I did not receive any services, so I’m not reviewing that. However, I am going to review about the rude lady that works here.
I came here for a facial with Judy, and was having trouble finding the salon. I knew Judy was inside of this place, so I called to ask where it was. The lady who answered the phone (I believe it was Manisha) was very nice to help me find where it was, UNTIL I arrived. I told her I was there for Judy and her attitude suddenly changed. She rudely asked «why did you call me? why didn’t you call Judy?» I explained that I did call Judy, but since she was with a client, she didn’t answer and I didn’t want to be late. She laughed and pointed to Judy’s facial room. I asked if I could use the restroom and she again blew me off, and rudely pointed to the door.
I’m certain Manisha is going to read this review, so let me know tell you, Manisha… if I ever wanted to get threading or waxing from you, I would NEVER come to you. This is not how you attract business. I understand you and Judy are run under two separate businesses but you need to learn how to have better customer service because this will NOT get you business.

Amazing job with my eyebrows, super affordable, awesome (nice & funny) staff… I’m done getting my brows done elsewhere.

Amazing facials, microdermabrasion abrasion. Moreover, Manisha’s sincerity and genuine nature continuously draws me back.

Manisha is definitely 5-​stars! Her threading prowess is 5-​stars! My eyebrows are also 5-​stars thanks to her! Love her smile and energy. I have been threading for many years and it’s definitely the way to go for the best brows. Does it hurt? Hey, you’re pulling hair our of your eyebrows. Not entirely painless but it’s worth it. Have yet to try other treatments but looking forward to my first facial. I’m sure it’s 5-​stars, too!

I always have the bestest experience with Manisha and I highly recommend this place!!! I moved to USA 2 years back and one thing that I was worried about was my skin and brows. I have a sensitive skin and I needed an expert to take care if it well. I am extremely lucky to have found Manisha… she is a true expert who uses very very good products, her experience and skill and all her goodness of heart to treat your skin. and phew! You look like a goddess!
Added advantage. She is a Reiki master too! I get so much positive energy whenever I go to her for any service.

So friendly and knowledgable. I came in right when she opened and she greeted me friendly and ready. It was not as painful as I’ve had some experiences other places. She shaped my brows perfectly.

I’m new to Sacramento and was looking for a new threading studio. Luckily I found this place, and I’m happy to say I go here on a consistent basis.
So why just 3 stars? Let’s go back to my first ever visit.
I found this place on Unilocal and was drawn in by the good reviews. Things started off well… Both the owner and receptionist were warm and welcoming. Manisha then took me back and said her studio is known for the «Hollywood» arched/​shaped eyebrows and asked if I would like the same design. To be honest, I wasn’t looking for a Hollywood shape. I was (and still am!) trying to grow mine thicker and wanted them to be more full. I explained that to her, and she seemed to understand.
Fast forward 10 minutes: My eyebrows are done. She gives me a mirror and says, «How do you like the shape? I did the Hollywood shape anyway, I knew you’d like it!» She was really proud of the work she had done. One problem: It wasn’t what I wanted or had asked for.
Luckily, Manisha did a good enough job… my brows were more even, and I could tell she threaded them in a way to facilitate growth. But this review isn’t 100% based on the quality of work. It has to do with a business honoring a customer’s request. The thing is, it’s important that a business comply when a customer asks for or declines something. It’s NOT ok for a business to go forward with a procedure without permission, and that’s what turned me off about this place. Even now, I still don’t care about the shape of my eyebrows, but we’re working to get them to where I like them.
I DO like that this studio is clean, never crowded and that the owner is so very sweet. That’s what keeps me coming back. It’s a good thing Manisha didn’t lose a customer with her decision to go against my request, but hopefully this is a small wake-​up call to not do that to other customers. Someone else might not be as nice.

I’m new to Sac and was looking for a new threading spot. Found a groupon to Desi and decided to try it out. I’ll admit I didn’t read every line on the groupon voucher but that doesn’t excuse the poor service I received from Manisha. I decided to drop by on my lunch since there would be less traffic in downtown and no wait.
I called beforehand and Manisha said I could stop by. When I got there, she was very nice… up until I told her I had a Groupon. She asked me in an accusing tone why I didn’t tell her when I called and required an appt if I had a Groupon. I honestly didn’t realize this and politely apologized. Now there were ZERO customers at the salon and I’ve had enough threading treatments in the past 3 years to know that it takes only about 10 min for a clean hair removal. In fact, I’ve NEVER had to make an appt for threading services.
Well, Manisha continued to give me a hard time by telling me my skin was dry and sensitive, spent less than 5 min on my eyebrows and about 2 min on upper lip. She was rough, trimmed my brows poorly, and told me she’s «very fast» because she is «experienced.»
I actually left her a decent tip but regret it. I feel like because I had the Groupon, Manisha gave me a hard time. I’m never going back and she’s lost a potential loyal customer. She should realize that there are new customers that use Groupons to find new businesses they will be loyal to. The last threading place I went to started with a Groupon and I became a frequent customer. Likewise with my massage spa, waxing spa, and nail salon. All started with a deal but these businesses gained a loyal customer.
Oh by the way, parking sucks here. Guess I’m still on the hunt for a new threading place!

— went to Manisha once last year in her former location & fell in love
— since she moved locations & I moved back to Sac, I knew I needed to come see here (because every once in a while, no matter how well you upkeep your own eyebrows, we all need a little professional help occasionally)

— $ 12 each time after that (it’s a bit pricey in my opinion, coming from San Jose, where a lot of threading is done for equal results but a fraction of what Manisha charges, but sometimes you have to be willing to pay more for quality)

The sign of a good eyebrow job?
Afterwards, you stand in the mirror making impressive, expressive faces at yourself.

Love Manisha!
I initially came to this establishment because I had a Living Social Deal (before her current location on Alhambra). At that time I received a facial and absolutely loved it. She did an initial skin analysis of me and made treatment recommendations. Also, Manisha listened to my concerns and tailored the facial to met my needs I have very sensitive skin, and I was afraid I would have red marks on my face for the rest of the day.
Since then I have received two more facials from Manisha, and I don’t plan on going anywhere else. My face is never red when I leave and I love how my skin looks after receiving the facial.
