Opening Sunday of football season, showed up at 9:30 and they have 1 bartender and no waitress. Terrible service, no wait staff and the place is busy. They literally have people they know(patrons) helping to deliver food to tables. Tried to order and the one waitress said«I don’t know how to put that in the system». Never again!

Another horrible experience at the East End Sports Grill. And I told myself I wouldn’t be back. Stale bread products and lack luster meats and cheese. DONTGOHERE!

I kick myself every time I come in here! The service is ridiculous! The manager doesn’t care and couldn’t be bothered to take an order even though there are only 2 tables with people. Waited 15 minutes for someone to take my order. NEVER going back there no matter how close it is to my office even if its pouring down rain!

Great place to watch a game, but their food leaves something to be desired. I ordered their grilled chicken sandwich… sandwich was dry and not very hot. Fries were good, but a little too much seasoning salt. For the price it was disappointing.

I was here in the CDPH building next door and not being from Sac and not wanting to take my car out of the parking lot, I went to the East End Sports Grill. Now I went in around 1130. I kind of wondered why at lunch the place was virtually empty. I mean there are TV’s comfortable seats in and out… Well my take: They take HORRENDOUSLY long. The average wait for orders ahead of me was 20 minutes. My fish sandwich and fries also took 20 minutes. It seems odd that everyone took their order to go instead of eating inside. I thought it was strange so I asked and the lady said sure go ahead but still put everything in a bag to go. I also noticed that the workers were short with everyone there. The black guy in the back, the white girl up front, one of the Latino cooks and the manager all seemed to have attitudes. The Latina girls working the sports bar part seemed nice enough. Examples of the surly behavior include an exchange about a faxed order from a CDPH employee that never made it, an exchange about who could something about it(the manager was not in at the time) and other short answers with customers. Maybe it was an odd day but you would think this place would be PACKED with employees. If I’m back up in Sac at 1615 N Capitol, I may ask around as to where everyone else goes. I noticed most folks went across the street to the Grocery Outlet. Nice looking place… just seems odd. My fish sandwich by the way was pretty good. I don’t a ½ cup of tarter sauce but a good sandwich none the less.

I went here with my brother to watch a MNF game. It was good. Plenty of tvs, cold beer, and friendly service. That’s all I am looking for when watching a game. They have a nice patio area, a lot of space, and the prices are good. This is in a good location, and I am surprised that not too many people were there. I will go back.

Went here to catch the NFL season opener. Was worried it would be packed. You can imagine my surprise when there were about 10 other people there. I remember when this was MVP and it was hard to find a table during football games! Evidently they’re not MVP anymore. It’s a great space, plenty of tv’s. I liked the TV outside but it was kind of hot so I just stayed inside. Bartender was attentive and efficient. Drink prices were reasonable. Pub food was what you’d want for pub food. Overall I’d go there again even though there wasn’t much of a crowd.

If not for the fact that this restaurant is the closest one to any building in the East End Complex, I am confident that it would go out of business. Every time I have been here — every time but once — I have gotten a meal to go which had something missing. Today, for example, I ordered a breakfast to take into the office. I was in a hurry and preoccupied, but I carefully ordered two ranch eggs over easy, ranch potatoes, fruit, and sourdough toast. I picked up my order and went back to the office. By then I was ravenous, which turned my disappointment into a fury: there was no sourdough toast with which to sop up the eggs. Nor was there salt, pepper, or utensils. In the past, I have been similarly cheated out of french fries, items I requested on a salad or sandwich, and some other things. Normally this occurs when I am in a hurry or on my way somewhere. I only have this problem when I order and take the food to go — usually when I cannot run back and complain or insist on their making a new order. The whole point of the location of MVP is expedience with ordering food, so when they consistently fail to produce orders to-go correctly, it is a tragedy indeed. The potatoes and eggs were lukewarm, but I was so hungry that I shoveled them down. When I opened the container of fruit salad, the fruit was dirty! Seriously! There were pieces of debris attached to the strawberries and cantaloupe. To add insult to injury, the orange juice I also ordered tasted sour, like it had been sitting around on the shelf for a while. I don’t care how expedient it is to eat here anymore. I would rather eat my money for breakfast than the food which MVP produces.

Went here for the Lakers game last night. Evidently this was the old«MVP» sports bar; I hadn’t ever been there so I cannot comment on the differences. This place is pretty big and was totally uncrowded for the game(NBA playoffs) which is really more of a comment on Sacramento as a sports town rather than this establishment. The bar itself is big; has a bunch of tvs; in fact they even moved a big screen tv outside onto their patio which was kind of cool. They have two pool tables, darts, etc. A big island bar and attentive service. Beers were reasonably priced and the food was typical sports bar grub. Our group basically sampled the entire appetizer list during the time we were there– fried this and that. Nothing particularly noteworthy but competently done. In sum, this is a cool sports bar downtown in a city that really doesn’t care about sports too much(with the exception of NFL). Check it out if you live in the area.

This place would get 5 stars if they had liquor! That aside this place is cool! The food is good… The staff is better… the location is the best(right next to work). Tons of TVs and two new pool tables!
