Established in 2010.

Element Engineering LLC is located in Sacramento, CA. The steady growth and stability of the company are the direct results of its strong performance demonstrated by a growing list of Case Studies. Business Owner

Principal engineer involved in civil /​structural engineering and land surveying with emphasis in residential and commercial development. Andrew has been the owner and manager of Element Engineering LLC since 2008. He has extensive interdisciplinary experience in both design and review; working in the private sector and the public sector.

Starting his career in the private sector, Mr. Hammond has drafted, designed and permitted a variety of residential, commercial and industrial projects. Highly trained in all versions of Autocad (up to 2015 Civil 3D) and Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).

Your home is the biggest investment you’ll probably ever make. So when a large exterior stucco crack had come back on our home for a second time, we knew we needed to entrust an individual with the knowledge and professionalism of someone like Andrew to find the root cause.
From my first contact with him he has always been punctual to our meetings, responded to my calls/​texts and emails in a timely manner and given me the assurance that he will follow through with any work or reporting that he has promised.
Andrew has provided me a detailed report and explanation for the reasons that may be causing the stucco crack, and continues to advocate on my behalf with any correspondence that is ongoing with the builder of my home.

My wife and I wanted to open up our living room and kitchen area plus add extra living space to the back of our home. A friend referred us to Andrew. His knowledge and very personable nature made the entire process stress free. He provided us with complete structural calcs and architectural plans and took care of all the permitting issues etc with the city that are usually a big pain in the neck. Working with Andrew was a positive experience. We needed structural expertise in 24 hours and he met with us at 630am! Andrew is very knowledgeable about building codes, and structural integrity of home construction in the Fab 40s area of Sacramento. His rates for inspection were reasonable and delivered a written report within 24 hours of the inspection. In his report he gave estimates for recommended repairs to include photos of items recommended and his findings.
Andrew was easy to talk with. He is very clear in his communications so for those of us that don’t understand terminology he had patience to clarify. We were impressed with his knowledge and depth of understanding. He was thorough on addressing all of our concerns.
I highly recommend Andrew Hammond. He is efficient, timely and the expert at structural inspections.

It’s never good when you find a crack in your foundation. There are many steps you have to take to ensure the integrity of the structure and, more importantly, safety of the people in your home. This difficult process is made much easier when you hire a professional engineer like Andrew from Element Engineering. Andrew was extremely professional. He worked well with my schedule and even came after hours to perform an inspection when I couldn’t make it earlier. His inspection was very thorough and he provided us with an excellent report in a very short amount of time. I was very pleased with how hard he works and he did it all with a smile on his face. Needless to say, I was very impressed with him and would highly recommend him to anyone.

Needing our patio cover engineered we had one hold our plans for 5 weeks before looking at them then asked for $ 300 more and wanted a wall in the middle of our view of our backyard, we took them to another one who at least said upfront it would take 5 – 6 weeks to look at them. After asking everyone we knew I looked on Unilocal and found Andrew at Element Engineering who had our plans back to our designer in 10 days and did make minor (county is a little crazy) which he did over the weekend. they were resubmitted Monday and I now have my permit in hand! Thank you Andrew for your professionalism and efficient service!

Wow, this man Andrew knows his stuff. He’s as good as it gets if you want to hire someone to inspect your potential new home to have peace of mind when you sign on the dotted line. Andrew arrived early to my home and did a thorough inspection of the structure. He found a few structural issues in the attic which the seller promptly fixed. This is the lowdown, why hire an general inspector to tell you what you can observe and evaluate yourself? Hire Andrew, bona fide engineer who will inspect things a general inspector can’t possibly evaluate bc they don’t have the background. The cherry on top of the sundae is that he is also very nice and works hard to make sure the home is fit structurally. I would hire this man again or refer him to my friends and family in a heartbeat. He is worth every dollar he charges. Funny thing is he charges the same or even better than a general inspector. Some things he noticed and reported that a general inspector would not even know:
1. cracks in travertine floor, but whats important is that it was from normal shifting not a structural problem.
2. sellers planted tree to close to home so in future the rots may grow under house floor and damage travertine flooring.
3. AC HVAC system in attic clogged
4. Tree in front has roots that are infringing upon home.
The sellers read report and fixed every single thing for us. It’s bc Andrew’s report was thorough and Andrew’s credentials swayed the seller!!!

We noticed a crack in our foundation and called several services to evaluate it, and had difficulty getting them to answer their phone or actually schedule the work. In contrast, element engineering was very responsive, offered us an after-​hours inspection on short notice at a discount, and performed a very thoughtful and thorough inspection. He generated an excellent report and has followed up with us after completing the job to ensure we remain happy. While I hope to never need a structural engineer again, I would not hesitate to call him again or to recommend him to others.

andrew is awesome. friendly, knowledgeable and best of all local. we had him come over for a crack in our garage and he quickly assessed the situation within seconds, which we took with a sigh of relief. no structural damage to the house itself, only the unsightly crack in the garage. he explained every inch of the situation, gave relevant information about the history of cement of houses built in the 70’s and stated everything can be fixed! he was called over specifically for the crack but took the time to look at any other possible issues with the house. you couldn’t ask for a nicer person to answer home owner questions, he doesn’t treat your question as common knowledge, rather he will talk to you to better make you understand, without jargon. please, if you need something fixed or looked at, call andrew. he is awesome.

We fell in love with the location of a lakefront lot but were reluctant to pull the trigger because it was covered with boulders and we didn’t know if building would be economically feasible. The survey firm led us to Andrew who did a site inspection and answered all my questions — and I ask a lot of questions. He provided us with a detailed professional report, it turns out that these boulders are a good thing! Andrew’s input was the determining factor, we sign papers Friday!

I enjoyed working with Andrew. We hired Andrew to figure out a way to move an unsightly beam in the middle of the walk way into our family room of our Tahoe home. Everyone else we spoke to told us it would cost over $ 30,000 if it could be done and removing it would be a major problem. As I investigated the possibility of removing it I found Andrew on Unilocal.Just from looking at pictures I texted him he could tell that it could be removed and he gave me an accurate cost. He visited the sight to follow up on the pictures I sent him. He drew up detailed plans for us to take to the fabricator. His fees were reasonable and he was quick to respond to any question I had. From start to finish he was a joy to work with. We actually never met face to face because I live several hours from the project. The cost of the entire project was under $ 8,000. I would use him again for any engineering project I would need. You can’t ask for a better engineer to work with.

We hired Andrew for a detailed structural engineering report for our condo purchase. He was very responsive (especially via text to keep us up to date and giving sound advice before and after the inspection took place) and send us a detailed report. We would not have purchased the condo without his sound advice. His professional fee was also much more reasonable than other engineers we interviewed. Very friendly and professional.
