Fairfield Inn Sacramento Cal Expo

I have never meet a ruder staff. I will be making a call to Corporate Monday morning. The only good thing about this place was the bed was comfortable, but I will NEVER RETURN. !!!

Very clean and nice hotel, but the staff… not one actually smiles and they are all very short and rude. Vending machines eat your money and they charge double at the lobby for water.

Stayed here two nights and both nights were great! Staff is amazing, Chanel is dope. She’s got a great personality and makes you feel very welcome! Tip tho, do NOT turn off the ac! Lol. It takes too long to turn back on and Sac is like a 350° oven

This Marriott hotel was clean and very quiet which is good but idk too many old people lol

I stayed at the Fairfield Inn on business. I had a number of customer service requests, including a late change to my reservation and Gigi, at the front desk, really took care of me.
The hotel looks recently renovated and my room was fine. Note that it was possible to hear other guests from the rooms so plan accordingly.

Train ran past midnight on a Tuesday. I was on the opposite side of the building at room area furthest from the road away from the tracks of the Fairfield Inn. The trains were still loud enough to hear. The trains methodically sound as the approach any intersection (Tribute Road). If you’re a light sleeper, bring ear plugs and don’t get the rooms adjacent to the main road. The Court Yard is next to the Fairfield… some of the rooms may be a little bit further away from the tracks… I’d stay there next time instead or in another area period. The train runs parallel to Tribute Road. Customer Service on one day was perfect, five of five. Service the next day sucked… I tried using a Marriott Travel Card (cash card) for soda like I did the night before… the attendant stated I cannot use that card. The card worked at three other Marriott’s for similar items, worked last night in the same Fairfield Inn with Matt. Card states treat like cash. Doesn’t work if personnel are untrained and straight up lie to your face. Matt coded the travel card as a gift card on my receipt. The other guy was too busy to try and figure it out. Breakfast buffet was decent today. My room only had heating to control… Can’t set a fan setting. The room I stayed in was clean.

This is our first of many stays in Sacramento for my girlfriends nursing program at Sacramento State. We are trying to figure out which hotel will best suit our needs. The hotel is great with clean rooms and facilities, hot complimentary breakfast and easy access the freeways. My only issue with this hotel is how I was treated by the desk clerk and other employees. As my girlfriend is in class I chose to take a walk on the American River bike trail, which is a few hundred feet from the hotel. I got my things together put on my back pack and began my journey for the morning. I walk out the front door and the front desk lady, an older woman with white hair smiles and says have a nice day. I take my walk and return an hour or so later with a greet again from the desk clerk as I look over the items they have for sale as snacks. I smile and say hi and continue to walk. I use the restroom in the lobby and check out the fitness room which needs a room key that I have and see they have a really well kept room. I walk back to the lobby since I see they are cleaning the rooms and wants to allow them their time to do so without me interupting. As I sit a young male walks up possibly a maintenance or house keeping worker with a smile asking if I need something. I say no thank you and he continues to stand over me and says is there something I can help you with and I say no and see his face change now. He is no longer smiling, but a stern look and asks well what are you doing. I can now see this is going somewhere else and I say excuse me and he says he was sent to see what I am doing cause I was looking around. He wanted to know if I belong here and now I am upset and respond with a new sound in my voice. Do I look like I don’t belong here which he replies I did not say that, do you have a room here and I say yes. He asks for my key and I said really are you doing this and I look at him as he states. I want to make sure my guests are safe. Now we have an issue and I am feeling discriminated against and profiled. Do I look like I am making your guests unsafe, or do you mean you are looking out for my safety. I worded it this way to give him the opportunity to fix what he has said and he goes on and asks for my room number. I let him know I checked In yesterday with my girlfriend and went for a walk this morning passing the front desk lady and she said have a nice day. He chuckles turns and says I do not want to argue with you and walks away. I get up at this time walk to the counter as he goes to the back and closes the office door. The white haired older woman at the counter which I have thought of as sweet says it is my fault I seen you and asked him to check on you. We exchanged basically the same statements as the other worker and then she topped it with, «look at the area we are in I needed to make sure.» I am guessing I look like a trouble maker, homeless person and or someone that is coming in to hurt people. She repeats she is sorry a few times as I walk away. I have not felt this way since I was a teenager. I was profiled because I am of color, and there is no way you can make up for treating someone in this manner. It is so sad because I would have loved to stay here again.

Selected this location because it was close to the hospital where surgery was going to be early in the morning.
When I originally booked I the reservation I made it for the day of surgery instead of the night before (duh moment on my part)…
I called spoke to Kass who has excellent customer service skills. Friendly, polite and willing to accommodate. She was great at accommodating and changed the reservation.
When we arrived guess who was at the desk to greet us, yes, Kass who was still delivering great customer service and even remember speaking to me a few weeks earlier. Impressive.

Nice, quiet, and clean. The rooms are spacious and beds comfy. Breakfast had a nice selection, although the lobby was fairly small. The customer service exceeded expectations.

Had an absolutely wonderful stay at this hotel. Comfortable and clean room. Felt safe in the area. Was not super crowded. Breakfast was delicious for a continental breakfast. Overall nice stay.

My car was broken into this morning at 7:30am, after security had left for the day. The front desk women said this has happened multiple times in the past, yet there are no cameras in the parking lot. The general manager said there are signs posted about valuables but there is only one sign in the corner of the parking lot, COMPLETELY OUT OF VIEW OF MOST OF THE PARKING SPACES.
The manager refuses to compensate my husband and I for our stay, or even offer us a complimentary night for our troubles. (We have to stay and fix the car.) This all happened driving home from our wedding weekend. The memory has been tarnished by this unfortunate event, but mostly how we were treated by the hotel manager.
Overall, I think the hotel needs to put clearly posted signs by the front door of the hotel to warn guests of possible breakins. I’m from Atlanta. It happens all the time there, but people know to watch out for it and literally leave NOTHING in their cars. We took our electronics inside obviously, but had we known how DANGEROUS it is to leave ANYTHING in the car, I would have taken everything.
I feel disappointed that given the circumstances, to tape our window with cardboard and little else.

Yes. There is a train. But the hotel is clean and close to expo and has a shuttle to the expo. Breakfast has scrambled eggs and sausage and waffles and fruit and milk and bagels. Pool is nice. The climate control is a bit… Fussy– but once we got it settled we were good. Beds were very nice and the staff was spectacular. We dropped our car keys down the elevator shaft (don’t ask) and they managed to get them back to us very quickly!!!

This motel is GREAT, close to Cal Expo. We stay here about 4 times a year. The staff is always nice and helpful. Friday night they have warm cookies at the front desk, the men in my family always love them. The rooms are nice and clean, beds are comfortable. Less than 2 miles away you have a lot of places to eat, a shopping center is close by. Room price is OK for Sacramento, you could pay more but why.

Not as bad as I imagined. Room was clean and I was able to tune out the train. I find it nice of them it provide guests with earplugs but find it unnecessary. My coworkers stated their breakfast was pretty good. Bed was pretty comfy.

This is my «go to» hotel in Sacramento, even if the event I’m attending is across town. I originally selected this hotel for its proximity to the State Fair, and I love the «secret» back entrance to the Cal Expo parking lot from Tribute Road. Rooms are good sized, beds are comfortable, and I’ve always been satisfied with the cleanliness. Desk staff have always been friendly and responsive. While they don’t have a restaurant on site, there is a full service restaurant at the adjacent Marriot hotel, just across the parking lot. The breakfast buffet is wonderful: fresh waffles, scrambled eggs, bacon or sausage, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, fresh fruit, oatmeal & toppings, bagels and breads for toasting, cold cereal, and pastries. Plus of course coffee and juices. Tip: ask for a room on the 3^rd floor with high ceilings; it makes the room feel even larger.

All the customer service was excellent, the room was very clean, bed was so comfortable, lots of space, shower was great, and excellent breakfast.

We were headed home from Washington state, and needed a place to crash on our way home to OC. I called and they had one room left, a two bed suite. It was perfect for us. The beds were comfy, plenty of towels and the free breakfast was awesome.

Oh, my! This is my new, favorite hotel! It has the standards expected from Marriott, with comfortable bed but also with better-​than-​most service, especially at breakfast, but in general, too. Weekend prices are very, very good. This is my new, go-​to place when I need to be in the Sacramento area. Did I say that that the stocking policy for the breakfast buffet includes restocking each item even at two minutes before the end of breakfast service? This means they don’t run out of anything, even if you want to sleep in. This place gives good bang for the buck!

Nice and clean hotel. Not the best view in the area, but the rooms are nice and clean. If you stay here would will probably want to make sure you have a car though, nothing real close to eat.
The staff when I checked in was very nice and overall I have no complaints.

Great location and value. Close to State Fair. A steal of a deal if you are using your Marriott Points. I would recommend fora short say

This place doesn’t have the best view in Sacramento but it does make up for service and cleanliness. The lobby is very open, clean and modern. The wedding party entourage stayed here for the wedding we were having at the Haggin Oaks golf course. The management was very courteous to our needs and helpful when we were swarming the lobby area for a short photo shoot with the bride and groom.
We were busy that Friday, Saturday and Sunday so we made quite a mess. Because our days were scheduled to the tee, things were everywhere. When we got back it was like I walked into a brand new room. My things was untouched by everything was was organized.
Woke up Saturday morning for breakast, the Belgium waffle was not working but regardless I had a full breakfast with eggs, sausage, bacon, and a ton of fruits. I had an excellent experience here at the hotel but although I don’t know when I’d actually come back I’d be confident to book another room with any Fairfield Inn or Marriot location.

The pool is dirty… check out time is at 12noon but staff had to knock on our door 2x just to ask what time are we checking out. not so good customer service.

I attend a lot of statewide meetings in Sacramento so I have seen my fair share of Sacramento hotels.
This Fairfield Inn is on the better end of things, complete with easy access to and from the freeway and plenty of parking. They don’t have early check, which was a bit of a bummer because I was heading into an afternoon full of meetings. However, when I returned to the hotel at the end of the day, the check-​in process was quick and smooth. They also gave me the option of which floor I wanted to be on.
Free wifi! Yes, this deserves an exclamation point because I find that more and more hotels charge $ 10/​day (at least) for internet access. It was also a fast and reliable connection.
They offer free breakfast — and by breakfast they mean a fully stocked self-​serve breakfast smörgåsbord including yogurt, hard boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, sausage patties, waffle batter and waffle maker, a variety of baked goods, oatmeal, whole fruit, etc.
As for my room, it was clean and comfy, with a spacious bathroom. I would be happy to return here.

What to Know:

–Nice location just down the street from the Cal Expo Center.
–Starbucks is just around the corner.
–A shopping mall with plenty of dining options is a few minutes away.

As other reviewers have noted, there is a train noise issue with this hotel. While I was awake and watching TV, it was quite noticecable. It almost seemed like a neverending train, and the tooting of the horn is pretty loud. However, I was not awoken by it while sleeping and I did not notice or need to use any ear plugs. I am a very light sleeper too. I’m guessing the train wasn’t running late at night, but if you are booking this hotel and planning sleep at all during the day, I would take note of this.
The room was a standard size and clean. The water pressure in the shower was slightly less than desirable. Free breakfast was provided, but nothing stellar. Some fresh fruit, bagels, waffles and refrigerated jimmy deans egg sandwiches. Not bad compared to other more expensive choices, but if you can afford to spend the extra money go for the neighboring Courtyard hotel. Courtyard is always a step above.

I had no problems with this place. Rate was good & room was comfortable.

I have no complaints, really. Everything from start to finish was good. We got checked in quick and easy. I actually ended up with a room with 2 queens which was more than I need for my GF & I. I liked the room, it was comfortable. The bed was decent from what I remember. There was a mini fridge which is cool if you have food. No balcony, just a view of the courtyard area.
