Business Owner

Diana T. Muntean, started doing hair at the age of 13 experimenting on her Barbie dolls hair and her dads hair.

Her father, George told her If she really liked doing hair she could do it for a living and own her own shop,& that he would help her start one.

Over the years, Diana committed and believed this career was her calling and purpose to beautify man and woman.

Diana received her Cosmetology license in Citrus Heights, Ca at the age of 19 and started doing facials for Roberta J. Schneider, one of the first skin care centers opened in Sacramento.

A year later, she advanced in doing hair for Laura DuPriest Salon & Spa behind the Hyatt hotel downtown Sacramento and was a Jill of all traits, performing massages, manicure, pedicures, facials, and haircuts and color.

Experienced and inspired at the age of 24, Diana opened Frumoasa Salon and Spa with her father, George Muntean and mother, Terezia.

She now has been in business for over 10 years & you can experience her touch of art.

Dynette is awesome. Took good care of me when giving me a new hair do. not bad for the price with the discount. hate to say it, but after coming 2x for hair coloring to re-​do my hair from black to platinum silver, she couldn’t get the right colour that I wanted 2x…
I don’t think I’ll ever coming back here for hair colouring, definitely not worth it. sorry Dynette. :(
Another salon can fix my hair and show results w/​o the complaint of Bad Lighting in the saloon… I do love your magazines though…

This Salon may be great for getting your hair done, but if you’re looking for a place to get a Brazilian wax… DO NOT ENTER!!! My friends and I went here together and we all left feeling like we were just tortured alive. It was the most horrible, traumatic experience EVER!!! The whole time I just keep thinking «when is this going to be over?.» Who would think that getting excess wax wiped off of your body could be painful… well it was!!! I think the best part of the appointment, besides it being over, was being burnt by the way too hot wax!!! Teas were shed as I walked out. That Groupon was NOT worth saving money!!!

Haircut with Alissa– $ 35
It’s a small place and probably overlooked for it’s location. Alissa is likable. She compliments without making me feel like she’s blowin’ smoke up my ass. Good wash. Good cut. Recommendable.

Nisha gave me the best color job I’ve ever gotten. I was on a very limited budget, and she was completely willing to work with me within my constraints and give me exactly what I wanted. No, even more than what I was hoping for, actually. I would recommend her to anybody. The salon is clean and nice, and not stuffy at all. My only complaint is that she was messing around on her cell phone a bit and dawdling, so I was there nearly a full hour longer than I usually would have been for a color. However, as long as you aren’t in any hurry, go see her at Frumoasa… you won’t regret it!

After moving to San Francisco two years ago and visiting at least five different salons, I realize that none of the services I have received since compare to Diana’s at Frumoasa. I finally came back to get a cut and color and I could not be more satisfied! Her attention to detail and willingness to really listen to my wants make this salon top notch. This time I asked for a cut that requires fine detailing and the cut exceeded my expectations. Now I have the volume and texture I have been looking for since I moved. The color is rich and multidimensional. I highly recommend Diana!

Frumoasa is the salon that not only provides exceptional haircutting/​styling services, but also many other services that you can treat yourself or a loved one to! I have been going to see Diana for over six years now and every time it’s a treat. All the stylists that work at Frumoasa are wonderful, talented and great fun to carry a dialogue with! Sacramento hairstyling doesn’t get better than this! I currently live in San Francisco and make trips back to Sacramento just to see Diana and the rest of the gals at Frumoasa, they just rock that hard! I have tried the fancy places in San Francisco and have yet to be satisfied with services that match the care and attention that Diana puts into Frumoasa. I first became a client when Diana worked makeup and hair on a local theater performance I was acting in, it’s been a long time since then, but you won’t find a better group of hair stylists that will treat you right, professionally, and still know how to have fun! Hope to see you there guys and dolls!

Frumoasa is a very nice, clean, comfortable salon. Diana has been cutting my hair since 2004 when I worked downtown and dropped into her salon to see if she could rescue my hair from a bad cut I had done elsewhere. I’ve trusted her ever since! I like to keep it simple when it comes to my hair, and Diana really gets me and always delivers a stylish cut that’s easy for me to care for. When I wanted to wear my curly hair straight for a while, she showed me how to make it happen. Diana is funny and fun to chat with, and even though I no longer work downtown, I drive from Vacaville to go to Frumoasa. There’s a comfortable sitting area with loads of magazines if you’re looking for photos for inspiration.

I have been coming here for last 2 years or so. The location is great if you work in downtown, as I come here either before or after work. Hairdresser Nisha is very good and she cut my hair 3 or 4 times, I am pleased every time. Girls here are very friendly and easygoing. I always feel very comfortable here.
Compared to other hair salons around this area, their prices are low. Haircut is $ 40, I surely hope they will not go up.
