4.75 stars. Beautiful architecture. However, the bathroom is in the basement and is not disability accessible and is difficult for many people to reach. Amazing, helpful, friendly service. Amazing, fresh farm-to-table food; they even tell you where it’s from, although it not all local(e.g. fish). As a vegetarian(gf vegan with food allergies), I’ve gone there several times and they always have been able to help. They participate in vegan challenge so they know how to cook vegan food, but normally I look at the menu first to make sure :). Great options for paleo too.

It was okay. I mean, they have excellent drinks… but the server was an asshole. Which turned me completely off. The food was really good, but I just can’t get past that janky ass service! If I’m gonna pay that much for a salad, u better serve it with a smile, not be a total douchebag, and act like u have something better to do. Its like… THISIS your job! THISISTHEJOB you signed up for. I am not a difficult customer… not in the least. But when u act like an ass, I will be your worst nightmare’s nightmare! But this dude pisses me off so bad, it wasn’t even worth it. Sooo s much as i hate to do it, No tip for you!!! Your job title is «Server» the definition alone is enough… but whatever… I may go back for a 2nd chance at this place hopefully not sitting in the same section as this assmunch.

Fantastic breakfast, happy hour, dinner, and drinks after are«off the hook» fabulous!!! Ck out the pics! Our server Clark knows his wine and his menus like he is the chief. He recommended the Zabuton short rib, delish!!! Great choice! And Ryan knows his drinks better than anyone. We had a Moscow mule mix that needed some tweaking(I’m just a mule perfectionist) Desiree our afternoon server was great too. Love her personality and kind soul. Brooke came in after and is taking care of us now. Another super kind and knowledgable server. We also met the GM. Love her too, go figure. You have managed to hire a perfect staff. Everyone is a star in their own way. Love this place. We were going to eat at other locations around town but why should we when this place has everything you could ever want. From breakfast to the last call evening nightcap, this is the place to hang out.

Had dinner and breakfast here. For dinner our party had the chicken, trout, and the halibut. All the proteins were super salty, so much so it was very hard to taste the actual food. The sides that came with each were good and different but we’re spoiled by the excessive salt. We also had for dessert the passion fruit sorbet and the vanilla ice cream which were excellent. As for the service at dinner it was attentive and friendly. For breakfast we had oatmeal and the egg white frittata. Can’t do too much to oatmeal but the frittata was agin salty. Coffee was excellent. Must be a chef preference to overly salt any savory dish. We will probably not be eating here again.

Yes two stars. Let’s first says that the ambiance and décor is actually very nice. The problem was the food quality and service. Our waitress had somewhat of an attitude and made us feel like it was a complete chore to wait on us. Never checked on us after receiving the meals and whether or not we liked it and didn’t bother to refill the wine glasses(we had a bottle of white on ice beside the table and somewhat out of reach for us) until we were finally able to stop her in her tracks. Now to be fair, the assisting staff, the younger men refilling our waters and clearing the table were on point and always present. Now the food, while that is obviously greatly subjective, I personally did not like mine which was the trout with wild rice(see pic). I just thought the flavor a were off but it was expertly deboned. One of my friend had the ribeye and he mentioned that it was not very tender(for $ 49, one would expect a better piece of meat) The overall experience was unimpressive and this will most likely be the last time we go there.

The food and drinks were good, but the price tag was way too high.

I’ve been here a few times over the last few years and I’ve always loved it! The drinks are great, as are the bartenders. I’ve had breakfast here and highly recommend it! Food and drinks at the bar are great too!

My favorite restaurant in all of the Sacramento area! The customer service is ALWAYS off the charts. The chef makes a special vegan dish for me because there’s not much vegan on the menu, and it is always delicious. Definitely a great choice!

Came here after dinner for something to drink and a small dessert. We were staying at the Citizen Saturday night day before Mother’s Day. Treating my wife as the queen she is I got her a Sauv Blanc white while I ordered a 2o11 Merlot Paloma Spring from Napa. Coco’s white wine was sweet and delicious as usual while my Merlot was rich in flavor better than anticipated and the floral scent took me by the surprise. We also went ahead and ordered a 9 layer chocolate cake. What a decadently sumptuous dessert for any guest to enjoy. Compliments to Grange for the intriguing ambiance, selection, and service that truly impressed both of us through the night. 4 stars for Grange.

My husband surprised me with a Anniversary dinner at the Grange. Going to dinner early(6pm) has its perks. Plenty of seating, quiet and serves was quick. My appetizer was the mussel and it was full of spices and was tasty. My dinner was full of flavor. The restaurant ambiance was relaxing and it was clean.

The Grange does it again and I want to sing it from the rooftops, because I had the best ribeye steak I have ever had in my entire life! Ask for the Niman Ranch Ribeye Steak. Order it while it’s still on the menu.

Visiting Sacramento we had a group come here because there was no line for service. Ironic because I would’ve received service faster by waiting in line anywhere else. After waiting 15 minutes the waiter only served the table next to us(who sat down after) and was rude to an older couple for no reason. Older couple asked for lunch and the waiter was demeaning saying«do you know what brunch is? We only have brunch!» We felt awkward and decided to go to Tower. 10 minute wait :) +1 star great place to just sit

Its about time I Unilocal this amazing restaurant in downtown Sac. Did I mention its amazing? Seriously. We love the upscale yet relaxed feel of this restaurant. Kenny is the best server on the planet. If you make a reservation ask to be seated in his section. He will take amazing care of you. Our favorite way to dine is let our favorite server Kenny(again I’m name dropping here) decide our dishes for us. You. Can. Not. Go. Wrong. Everything we have every tried is fantastic and delicious. Tuna Tartare? Amazing. Scallops? Amazing. Rabbit? Amazing. Ribeye? Amazing. Butterscotch pudding? AMAZING! Actually just stop reading and and make your reservation already.

Happy hour! I enjoyed the drinks and farm to fork-like food. However, it would be great for more food options. Overall, the restaurant was clean, customer service was great, and awesome atmosphere. Will be coming back…

Review for Dine Downtown 2016 So EXCITED to have scored a reservation for Grange during Dine Downtown week. It was my sister’s birthday and I wanted a special occasion restaurant that wouldn’t break the bank. I had a 6:45 reservation, but arrived early. We were promptly seated and our server, Roger, came to our table right away. He was so sweet and very accommodating to my 8 year old niece, who was not very excited about having to dress up and go to a «fancy» restaurant. But Roger really went out of his way and this was tremendously appreciated! We opted for the Jamon Iberico off the regular menu to start our meal while we reviewed their Dine Downtown options. My sister and I both chose to start with the Beet and Fennel salad. For our main course, we chose the Pork Shoulder. Roger suggested that we order one each of the desserts so we could try them both. I’m glad he did because my inclination was to get the Pot de Crème. However, one bite of the Tres Leches and I forgot all about the Pot de Crème. Food wise, I was somewhat disappointed in the Jamon Iberico. The dish itself just didn’t seem to come together for me. The ham was not well seasoned and only gained some flavor when combined with the grilled artichokes, ailoli and grilled olives. For $ 18, I really expected more. The

It’s OK. We had drinks here after getting checked into the Citizen Hotel, and then had breakfast our first morning. The space is very nice — clean urban updated old building modern with lots of brick and metal and wood. The outside wall is mostly windows which makes the space light and airy. Service was attentive and very friendly both in the bar and the restaurant(which is basically all one large space). But service was a bit slow. It was not terribly busy either time. We had drinks during happy hour and the bar bites looked really good, but we were planning to go out for dinner, so did not partake. They were out of both of our original orders so we substituted a different drink. I thought it odd that they would be out of items. Breakfast was a bit of a disappointment. I had the granola trio(house-made granola, yogurt and fruit), my husband had the Benedict. The Trio came in three separate bowls. I ended up mixing the chunks of fruit and granola into the unsweetened yogurt. It was ok, but none of it was very flavorful. Some honey would have been a nice addition to the dish. The fruit was the usual pineapple, mandarin oranges, chopped apple and grapes. The eggs in the Benedict were very runny. He had it with smoked salmon and the salmon was cold. I might eat here again if we are staying at the hotel, but I would not make it a destination restaurant.

Looking at the menu, there weren’t a lot of Vegan options and that was a little perplexing since I had heard how Vegan-friendly the Grange was. If I had looked at the menu, I would have just walked out thinking there was nothing for me. but I was there drinking with my coworker and I asked and the server was so enthused about it and said the chef can make something up. if I wanted a starter or an entrée and if there was anything to avoid. I thought that was cool. Especially since the server didn’t act like it was a pain. I was really happy about it and I told my brother about it later on when I found he was visiting and would be staying at the Citizen. He and his girlfriend are Vegan. We ended up having family brunch at the Grange and had another great experience with our special made dishes. So! the Grange will make adaptations or make something up for their guests. I appreciate it and it’s been great dishes. Just ask.

So good! A friend and I tried The Grange, and ended up having a lovely meal that in the end wasn’t too spendy, despite relatively hefty prices. Our waiter, whose name I didn’t catch, but who was originally from the UK was quite charming, attentive without being intrusive. We started with cocktails, mine was the Harvest which tasted like boozy applesauce(this was a good thing) while my friend had the $ 17 Citrus Pride. All of the cocktails looked interesting and well thought out, though seemed pricey for Sacramento(we are coming from DC). J had the cream of celery root soup, which I tasted, delicious but too rich for my palate this week. Last weekend’s juice fast seems to have reset my tastebuds somehow. I had the endive pear salad, loved it, crunchy creamy herby, little bits of goat cheese spiking it… Next we split the half Mary’s chicken, which was amazing, with a beautiful crispy skin, served with butter beans, baby artichokes, and preserved lemons. I am a sucker for a place that does chicken well! Our side was the persimmon with burrata cheese, and some greens. Very good, but closer to my salad than I wanted(that’s on me). We finished with a Zinfandel port for J and an apple brandy in a snifter for me, though desserts looked intriguing.

Has a fun happy hour here as a nice Friday reprieve from the heat. Drink specials are 6 $ and up but fun flavors. There is a wide range of seating indoors but not a lot of it, our party of 6 had to cajole our way to one of the two bar tables suited for over 3 people(the only place you can sit for happy hour) The staff was very hot and cold but cold out weighted the nice so minus. Nice venue.
