I want to write a review about Keith Logan’s awesome service. We purchased a ticket from a lady at the counter, to go from Sacramento to San Diego, We told her to make sure that the tickets were for the evening. We thought everything was good to go, and we went home. Later that day as we were packing and getting ready to leave, we noticed that the tickets were actually were for the morning, and as a result, we missed our bus! Shame on the lady for messing it up, and shame on us for not checking the tickets before we left. I thought «O.k.I’ll just call the customer service number and they’ll fix it, and get us on another bus» The stupid number for customer service kept ringing and ringing. At this point I lost it! I was so mad that the lady messed up the time, and now this. Anyways, we went back to the Greyhound station, and spoke to Keith Logan, who fixed everything! He is freaking awesome! Not only did he get on the next bus, he make sure that we didn’t have to pay anything else. Keith Logan is the best employee there, hopefully other people will have the pleasure to be helped by him as well.

This is a copy of the letter I have sent to Greyhound asking for a refund of my ticket (which, by the way, they said would take 6 – 8 weeks to process after the letter is received) …
To Whom It May Concern:
I purchased a ticket for my 13-​year-​old son, Skylar, to leave from Sacramento, CA at 7:30 in the morning and ride to Medford, OR on Sunday November 2^nd, 2013. When I bought this ticket I called Greyhound to make sure everything was ok with him traveling alone. The woman on the phone actually walked me through buying the ticket online, telling me exactly what buttons to push and which options to choose, etc.
When we arrived at Sacramento at 6:30 a.m. on the 2^nd, we went to the ticket counter and the woman working there quickly explained that my son couldn’t ride the bus because unaccompanied minors are only allowed to ride if the trip is five hours long or less, and this trip was over seven. I explained that we had made the purchase in consultation with a Greyhound employee on the phone and that she had not told me of this requirement. All the person behind the counter would say in response is that I was misinformed. I asked to speak with a manager, but he too would not help me and said my son couldn’t ride.
When I begged for a solution I was told that if we drove to Chico (1.5 hours away), my son could catch the same exact bus. The ride from there would be about five hours so they might let my son get on there. If not, we were told that we could then drive to Redding, a further hour drive away, where the ride for my son would then be only four hours and they would definitely let him on. I asked if she could call the Chico station to confirm that they will let my son on there, but she said she couldn’t because the Chico station doesn’t open until 9am. She printed my son’s ticket and weighed and ticketed his bag and sent us away. We left for Chico.
We arrived in Chico well before 9 a.m. so had to kill time until 9 a.m., at which time we made our way to the bus. We got out of the car and walked to the station door. It was locked. We read the posted hours and saw that on Sundays the station is actually closed. Before driving to Redding I decided to call Greyhound again to see if perhaps the bus will stop here even if the station is closed. After a lengthy time on hold I get to talk with a person and she informs me that the bus will stop there even though the station is close. Wonderful! I ask her if my son will be able to get on even though the ride is about five hours. She says that will be up to the driver’s discretion …
Before I hang up the woman asks me if I have a signed copy of the unaccompanied minor paperwork with me. What? No one in Sacramento had me fill that out and I tell her this. She tells me they probably thought I would fill it out in Chico. But Chico is closed, I remind her. Well then he can’t get on, she informs me. The driver won’t take him without the paperwork. Well I guess we’re driving to Redding! No, she corrects me. Redding is closed on Sundays too. Ugh!
She tells us at this point I will just have to drive my son to Oregon myself. I tried to call the Sacramento station to see if there was anything they could do for us, but was never able to get through even after many attempts. It was by that time almost 10 a.m. Had I left directly for Oregon at 5 a.m., when we left, we would have already been arriving shortly. At that point however, we still had over 3 hours left.
So I ended up driving my son all the way to Oregon and then driving straight back home, missing plans I had with my family. It took 14 hours total and $ 130 in gas and was exhausting. This was one of the worst experiences with a company I have ever had. From the woman who helped me buy a ticket, to the woman and her supervisor in Sacramento, to the woman on the phone when we were in Chico, to the 15-​minute on-​hold wait I experienced when calling in today to inquire about a refund — I was met with incompetence and/​or lack of kindness or empathy at every turn. I wish I could ask for more than simply a refund on this ticket, but at least that would be something.

One of the worst places on earth! The older gay man at the counter accused me of having a gun (WHAT!) and told me I could not board the bus with any type of firearm. I am a TATTOO ARTIST and the «gun» I had was a TATTOO MACHINE! I do not usually engage in semantic arguments, but I needed to be somewhere tomorrow. The security guard was too busy making out with one of the counter girls to help, so then I was threatened with police action if I did not vacate the premises. I have never had such a fiasco in my life. The employees were unhappy and more than willing to share. I strongly recommend walking, biking, hitch-​hiking, or any form of transport over this. One of my life’s lowest points. Missed an important convention. The workers took my «guns» and said I could have someone pick them up the next day. The next day was a different crew and they had no idea what the previous day’s set was talking about.
Don’t go there.

I would give them negative 5 stars if I could. The last bus I rode on was filthy and ironically smelled like wet dog. The Bathroom door was kicked in making the bathroom unusable. I also bought one of their web tickets and printed it at home we were all set to go on a much needed vacation in Reno, NV and my wifes grandfather suddenly passed away. I was told by one rep that I could change the ticket for a small fee and now I was told by someone else that I basically am holding onto worthless paper. Also if you can even get someone on the phone dont expect them to speak much English or be able to understand them. I will use All-​West next time I go to Reno. They are a Coach USA company and at least there tickets are good anytime and the drivers are extremely courteous. Greyhound you have got the last money you will ever see from me.

The best I could say about this station that has recently been relocated to Richards Blvd at 7^th, is that it is used to be convenient. Sure the area got super thuggish over the years, but at least when you hopped off a bus you could hit the little corner café, a mini market or walk up to the now closed Carl’s Jr in the Mall. There is not much of anything like that near the new freeway convenient location. Maybe that is more important to GH. And hey, the L.A. station might be nice inside but there filth, povery and misery squirming around most of the skids area. Smh…

Came here to ship out a huge package. The guy behind the counter is extremely SLOW. We were the only one in line and was there for over an hour. This location is super ghetto and I’m glad it’s closing down/​moving. There are a bunch of people smoking weed in the lobby and in the front of the entrance.
The only reason I gave it 2 stars is because the security supervisor is really friendly and tried his best to help.

Terrible station, terrible customer service, terrible ticket rules and regulations (even for exchanges). I bought an 11pm ticket, didnt get to use it, i called them twice on 2 different numbers and no one EVER picked up. Then the 800 number was closed for office hours. then the next day, when they were open, they said that it was too late and i couldnt exchange the ticket since its suppose to be for the SAME DAY… which is stupid since the ticket was for the last one leaving at 11pm. Fed up with them. ohh ya, and out of a total of 4 greyhound rides… it broke down once… so ya, im not saying it happens to everyone but for my experience… I now expect a 25% chance of break down.

This « Unilocal» is for the GPX (Grayhound Package Express) if you are shipping from or to this downtown 7^th street location I can’t say enough about these people. Each time I use this location for any of my Greyhound Packages (and I have used them for years) it’s always a pleasant and courteous atmosphere. My packages are usually over sized and or heavy. They always help me to my truck and greet me with a happy smile and a hardy «Thanks»
I highly recommend using this locations for your GPX needs

This location is awful but it sure is cheap transportation. I have only taken a bus out of here one time and it wasn’t as bad as I expected it to be. The bus ride from Chico had no air conditioner and screaming kids, but I figured it would be that way.
I recently picked up a friend that had a two hour layover in Sacramento. It was about ten pm when she arrived and I was terrified at the thought of her having to loiter around that sketchy liquor store and motel. Fortunately I got there just as she got off the bus because I don’t think it is a safe enough area for people (especially small women) to be hanging around alone at night.

I had rode the greyhound about 3 times total. One experience was quite alright, and the other was quite smelly, loud and uncomfortable. I guess it would’ve averaged out to a 2 or 3 star. But after my most recent experience, I almost want to say that I will NEVER, EVER ride the greyhound at this location again! My departure was supposed to be 1:30pm, and others coming from Seattle 12:30pm. After the longest time of waiting, they said that there was an accident on 80 and that they didn’t know when the bus would get here. So really? You guys don’t have something called a back-​up bus? That’s it?! So the bus came at 3:00 and there were people singing halelua halelua halelua! And we all had our laughs and giggles for a bit. UNTIL they f**cking told us that they could only seat one third of the people waiting. WTF?! So they said that another bus would come at 4:00pm! I called for a f**cking ride and my brother got there at 4:10pm and guess what? The 12:30pm & 1:30pm people were still waiting and the 4:00pm bus was nowhere to be found. The funniest thing was that I tried to go get a refund on my ticket and they girl rudely said «4:00 gate 8» as if I MISSED MY bus! She tried to tell me it wasn’t refundable and I said, «EVEN IF ITS 3 HOURS LATE!» The supervisor tried to tell me the same thing and boy did they get it. So. I got my money back =) But boy was I pissed.

This part of downtown tends to smell a lot like urine. There are, however, lots of good alleyways to duck down and smoke a bowl to make the next leg of your trip a little more bearable. Unfortunately, none of the corner stores nearby sell alcohol, so plan in advance, otherwise you might have to ride the bus sober. Oh no!
This place really is hell, but I grew up in Sacramento, so the transients and derelicts and the eclectic throngs gathered to shuttle off to San Fran always bring back that «coming home» feeling. You probably wont like it quite so much.
