H and R Automotive

These guys are great. I just moved to Sacramento and they were recommended by a family friend when my check engine light came on. They took care of it quickly and were very friendly and straight forward. Will be back in the future!

Have you ever found a mechanic that you trust? If not, consider these guys. They are fairly priced and honest.
I stumbled upon H&R years ago and have not gone anywhere else since. I am preparing to chaperone for a three day field trip and my first thought was to get in to see Ray. I know that my oil change will include a comprehensive check that always helps me feel safer on the road.
Henry was my first trusted mechanic and now I feel the same about Ray and his team. Thank you H&R!

I was told by the folks who changed my oil that I had a transmission fluid leak. Ugh. Being that my car is 12 years old, and I would like to squeeze another couple years out of her, I decided to take her to H and R to have them take a look. I walked in, and they attended to me immediately. As I sat in their waiting room I noticed their «cash only» sign. I didn’t have a dime on me! oops… However, they called me out to show me that there was, indeed, no leak near the pan as I was told. I was so impressed by and grateful for their honesty. I will definitely bring my car back here if I do ever have any other problems! Thank you!!!

Seriously, just about the best mechanic you could find anywhere. I felt extremely lucky to find him. Henry is honest with all repairs and does his best to save his customers money. He even went out of his way on a Saturday to wait for me to get off work so I could pick up my car. By far, H and R Automotive is the most honest and trustworthy business I have ever done business with. They’ll be getting my business servicing all my vehicles for many years to come.

Henry is the most reliable and honest mechanic I have ever been to. I took my 97 Honda to him for years and would trust him with any repair.

I second Lisa’s review — they’re knowledgeable, informative, helpful, careful, etc. They checked in before doing/​replacing anything of any significant cost, and my ’89 Toyota pickup now runs and pulls like it hasn’t in decades, with no pinging on 87 octane gas.

I am so glad I was referred to this place! The owners are very honest here. They even stayed on a Saturday to finish my car, rarely an auto shop would stay open on a Saturday to finish your car. They explained everything to me, and also gave me helpful advise to maintain my car. Since they are experienced with almost all makers and knowing what to expect with the models advantages and weaknesses. They called me each time to let me know if there was a problem with my car, and if they should fix it for it or not. I felt so reassured they were legit since I saw all there signs from CA Bureau of Automotive Repair. This is similar to the Better Business Bureau.
I have become more aware of how automotive shops take advantage of women. Since once before I had to file a complaint on a auto shop on Fulton Ave. that absolutely screwed me over. I had a gut feeling that this place was so shady, like the sales person who had a missing tooth. Later to find out, he was literally lying through his teeth. But, trusting them since the GM was a lunch customer of a good friends restaurant that referred me to his auto shop. I just went to get a oil changed, knowing my car was in good shape and had a tune up 1 year prior. After taking my car back from their shop, my car stopped running a day later. They explained my car was in bad shape it would cost me $ 5000.00 to fix. I found out they have poked holes in my radiator and cut a valve. So everyone please be careful. If this ever happens to you please report it to the CA Bureau of Automotive Repair
