History

Established in 1970.

I have had Hal Hammond Graphics for over 40 years, which is amazing because I claim to be 38 years old. I started out thinking I would be a photographer, then an engineer, then I switched to journalism, then to photojournalism, then to graphic design, then to owning a prepress service and have now come full circle to being a «photographer» (who also dabbles in graphics & digital printing).

I am a founding member of The Focus Group, a group of some of Sacramento’s best known fine art and commercial photographers. We meet regularly to share, nurture and support each other’s creative spirit.

Hal was amazing! I had a very last minute project that I needed done today and he was able to get it done for me in less than an hour! Wow! He was super friendly and gave me advice on where I could get it framed too. He went above and beyond! I will definitely be going back.

I called Hal Hammond Graphics to see if they did large art format scanning and rather than giving me an «no» he gave me the information of 2 different places I could go to to get this done. I appreciated the time he took to help me out and it also shows how supportive he was to the rest of the art community. That’s my testament to a company with good character!

Awesome personal service if you have photos that are dear to you and you want professional and experienced help. I had Hal print out 8×8 prints of smart phone square shaped photos and the resolution and color were absolutely terrific. I will have to go back to him and print some more! He has moved from his shop on Seville Way to a nearby location on Santa Ynez Way.

I contacted Hal Hammond of Hal Hammond after seeing all the positive reviews on Unilocal.I am working on a family cookbook/​album and had several photos that I wanted to include in the book that were not in digital format. These photos did not have to be art quality, but they did have to be put in the right format and time was of essence. Also, I was leery about sending my photos to one of those behemoth-​like scanning services that outsource the work to labs in foreign countries.
I contacted Hal Hammond and he worked with me and my schedule. In the end, I had him scan about 40+ old photos ranging from the 1920s up to the digital age to put in my cookbook/​album project. With some of the more damaged photos, he tinkered with them to bring them back to life.
And he did all of this on time and on budget. I would not hestitate use Hal again. He’s a craftsman and my entire family has been so impressed with his work.

I happened to find Hal Hammond Graphics through the Internet. I’m from NY so I don’t have a lot of contacts in California to ask regarding printing digital art.
I wasted my time, ignorantly, at a kinko’s/fedex and staples where I walked out with blurry prints and much frustration even after a young lady at fedex adjusted my image to print «properly».
Anyhow, I walked up to the store to find that Hal was in the midst of moving as many items were being packed and arranged (he will be operating out of his home soon) but it didn’t stop him from taking care of my project.
He was friendly, warm, intelligent, and knew exactly what he was doing. He advised me on certain aspects on printing and creating my work to translate fully into print properly and was adept at adjustments. He had a true printer’s eye, which I thoroughly appreciated, and made my experience at Hal Hammond a joy and a relief.
I walked out with prints that I should have had several days ago but had I been able to do that, I wouldn’t have had the chance to meet Hal Hammond and do business with him.
I highly recommend his services and hope you will have the chance as well.

As a professional photographer, I have used the services of Hal Hammond Graphics many times. He has always provided me with top-​notch service and detail oriented quality… from design and printing to fine-​art photographic prints.
I introduced Hal to one of my clients, a large bank, for which he designed and produced an employee newsletter, making them very happy. He also produced a membership directory for one of my trade associations. Again, standing ovations were the results.
Hal has also produced fine-​art photographic prints, with meticulous detail, for the last four photo art exhibits that I participated in.
I definitely will use Hal again!

That is ALL I can say. Hal was VERY helpful, knew his stuff, showed me alternatives to what I needed to print and got me the best results. I’M COMING BACK FOR SURE!!!
The only downfall was (for me) that the building was kinda hidden. He’s behind STAR GINGER and across the street from the big parking complex somewhat… small blue/​white building. :)
But IDC! Got what I paid for. Thanks Hal! :D

I was looking around Sacramento for a place to print a poster sized digital collage of my son’s golf season. I built the image in photoshop and the file was over 100mbs. I tried 4 local shops and the national chains with no decent results. I found Hal Hammond online and emailed him. He responded immediately and after calling him, I then knew exactly what to do. Hal ended up printing, sizing, color correcting, and then framing my image and it is proudly hanging in our home.
Hal is the real deal and a true small business person that cares about quality and treating the customer right. The final bill was less than the chain stores wanted while much better quality.

I had a slide from the 1970’s that I wanted converted to an oversize print. Based on the five start ratings from the other reviews for Hal’s shop I contacted him, and he invited me to his one many shop/​studio near Alhambra and Fulsome Ave. Over the next few days I received a free education in scanning, printing, and framing from an obvious expert– as well as coming away with a beautifully framed 21″ x 14″ print. Hal’s priorities in working with me were craftsmanship and value– he even pointed me to Aaron Brothers for a reasonably priced frame. All in all a great experience.

Hal is so awesome! I went in to have a school project printed out and he was totally helpful and patient! He took the time to sit down with me and check out my file. Unfortunately, the file I created was wrong. But he took the time to help me out with my file and print out my project in time! He’s awesome!

Great place for fine art printing, signage and more. If you want the best, forget the rest! Hal does archival quality fIne art photo printing, and he is a good graphic design person too.
