Hello Sacramento, I’d like to leave a note in regards to the service of Hi-​tech auto. Recently I’ve had two services completed by hi tech, both diagnostics. From my first experience, I’ve had them diag my car for fuel system malfunctions and additionally warned me about an o2 sensor malfunction I was not aware of. When I get home to take it out myself. I found it stripped and even stuck on my midpipe. Left me fighting an o2 sensor for a couple months. I had to go to another shop to get it off. My second experience is in regards to the same problem, fuel system issues. Came to diag it again and they tell me it’s my vapor canister. Not quite sure how diags work. But I expected a longer list. All I caught on the paper was a quote saying ‚” issue caused by faulty vapor canister”. Part and labor fee costing 675 $ To fix. After I did some research for cheaper providers and mechanics. I got a new canister on .and then my check engine light came back on after I left the shop. Lately from the car game, majority of these shop have just been shady, money hungry, and not helpful. I’m not gonna argue with their prices, it’s their shop, their fees. But if i would’ve paid 675 just to have the same issue, that would straight up suck for a broke college student. I’ve read similar post regarding scam issues with hi tech and have not believed it, but they have definitely confirmed this after my second issue .
2 weeks later after discussing the issue. I bought a gas cap today, put it on, CEL CAME OFF…
Definitely calling for a refund tomorrow. It’s ridiculous the amount of money I spent here for false information that made no progress for my car.

My brother and I last week took his auto to Hi Tech
There customer service is excellent.
We had to leave our car and they gave us a ride home and offered to comeback the next day to pick us up .
We felt they were very concerned and honest in there assessment of our car issue.
I would recommend Hi Tech to anyone who needs

I have been taking my car and my mom’s car here for a few years now. Everyone at the front is very friendly and always explains things so that I, a non-​car expert, understand. While I have really only come in for maintenance and small repairs, my mom’s car recently had a head gasket issue as well as major oil leaks. Hi-​Tech gave us a a fair quote and got the work done in just 2 days! No problems since. I will continue to bring my family’s cars here as they have never disappointed!

I was in town visiting some friends and my check engine light came on. Since I was pretty far from home and did want to risk getting stuck on the side of the road I asked my friend if there was a shop she would recommend to have it checked out.
She recommended Hi-​Tech Auto Care. They were friendly and were able to quickly determine that the light was on because a hose was loose. They were able to secure it and mentioned that I was due for an oil change. I figured while they had it, why not. I was back on the road, no check engine light and new oil for a reasonable price and in no time at all!
If I lived in this area I would take my car here for maintenance and repairs. I know this is where my friend takes her car and she had nothing but good things to say.

I want to Hi Tech because I was referred to them they of my lmechanic. they kept my car for 3 days never contacted me to keep me updated on progress. When I called them on the third day they said that my vehicle was ready. I came to pick my car up and before I could get out of the parking lot the check engine light was still on. I went back into the office and I spoke to Simon he said that he would come out and assess the problem. He came out with the scanner assess the problem and when I asked him what was going on he told me he didn’t know and he thought that his technician had just got to reset it. I didn’t understand because of your technician did not reset the check engine light how did the technician know that the problem has been resolved. After 3 days I feel you have plenty of time to go through my vehicle from front to back. They did resolve the problem somewhat but on the interior of my navigation system on the dashboard the door was open when I complained about that they asked me to come back. I came back and they gave me some BS. There was no resolution. I would not recommend High Tech to anyone. In my opinion the business is shady and if you deal with them go in at your own risk.

Do not go here for a smog. A coupon is not worth a no pass and terrible service. Took my car somewhere else and it passed. These people are shady charicters.

I took in my 1988 Toyota Tercel for a failed smog diagnostic, they had the car for 2 days and then after not keeping me informed even though they weren’t finding anything yet (probably not even looking at the car yet) I called them and they said «oh your engine is bad and needs replaced ($ 2900.00) also there is «blue» smoke coming out the tail pipe and is an automatic fail for smog, also 2 vac hoses were switched around. I came and picked up the car on my b-​day and barely made it home, the car would barely stay running at a stop sign or light. I called them the next day and told them I was bringing the car back to them so they could get the car back in the same running order as when I left it with them. It took them all day to get to and when they did it took them all of 5 minutes to switch the 2 vac hoses back to the way they were. The car ran fine again. I took it to another place of repair for a second opinion and they said all that was wrong with it was the carburetor needed to be adjusted and the catalytic converter needed replacing and it would pass smog. Will not take any more of my vehicles to this place nor do I recommend them to anyone.

Don’t ever ever under any circumstances bring your car to these crooks!!! PLEASE do not. They ripped me off for over $ 500 charged me $ 85 for diagnostic. All I needed was a tune up and smog. They had ny car 2 days.2 days later broke down again and had to get a new battery. Now 2 days after that the service engine light is on again and still can’t get smogged! Now thay want to give me the run around and not make good on their work. I am contacting the BBB and consumer affairs. Now I get to go to a reputable mechanic and find out what on earth they did. Worst experience I have ever had with an auto shop. No stars negative stars

Been coming here for over a year now for my car and my parent’s cars. They always know exactly what’s going on with the cars, very knowledgeable. Had a transmission problem in my mother’s van they managed to fix for a lower price than what others were quoting me. Customer service has always been honest. Other than the tranny issue, I come here for smog, oil changes, and a tuneup.

Our engine was no good so we took it to this place for experienced help and they really went above and beyond. Ali was the associate that helped us and his customer service was excellent. All of the associates were knowledgable and they definitely didn’t try to cheat us like many other shops we’ve been to in the past. They kept our best interests and affordability in mind and worked with us. We will most definitely be returning customers.

Went to jiffy lube… Had a really long line… Went onto Unilocal found this place… And read the review… But I thought I’d check it out for myself…
Great customer service. I feel like they knew what they were talking about… Did really try to up sale me a whole bunch of service I didn’t need. Let’s see how my car runs… Then I’ll do a follow up review.

Came here to get a smog for my moms Toyota Camry. This place totally ripped me off. I didn’t even notice till I got home. We had a coupon for a smog for 14.75 plus certificate 8.25 is only $ 23. He told us that our gas cap was loose and he would replace it for $ 15. That’s only a total of $ 38. When we left my mom paid a total of $ 49. My mom doesn’t know English, and I got caught up that I didn’t realize it till I got home. This place does not deserve my business anymore.

Not a professional environment. Workers were disorganized and took forever to smog my car. Waited over one hour even though there was only one customer ahead of me.

I haven’t been in Sac long and dropped in to get an oil change. I always test a new mechanic to see if they are honest. Usually I have them check something I know is in good order to see if they try to sell or up-​sell. Chak changed my oil and checked/​filled fluids and hoses. I had him check my brakes to see if he’d try to sell me (brakes were pretty new). Chak takes me to the back and shows me the brakes are fine. He and his wife were honest and straight forward. I will send all my friends to him. This guy has been in business 14 years. You don’t stay that long without treating people right.

I took my 2003 ford f150 in they said something was wrong with the transmission and it would cost $ 2200-​$ 2800 to fix. They also said they could possibly find other problems with it once they start working on it so they could not give me a final quote, they said their was a check engine light on but they did not investigate the problem but it could possibly be the cad converter. That bothered me a little because once I agree to the $ 2800 that could just be a starting point for them. I have had check engine light come one before in other cars thoughout the 22 years i have owned various cars and it has never been that big of a problem when the check engine light come on. I then looked them on on the internet to find several reviews (not on Unilocal) to check their rating at the BBB which said has an F. I then told them I wanted to think about it and would have my car towed back to my home, they said they took off the oil pan and the guy who was working on it left for lunch and he would be back in one hour to put it back together and they would call me when it was done so I could have it towed. three hours went by and I called only to be told the guy never came back from lunch and could I pick my truck up tomorrow instead. I kindly said no I had already called the tow and scheduled a pick up. He then called me within 20 minutes and said it was ready. Why couldnt they do that in the first place? So next I get a call from the indian owner then calls me and said” what are you planning on doing with the truck? are you going to keep it or sell it or what? I said why do you want to buy it and he said yes how much do you want for it? it has a bad trannie thats $ 3K and it has a check engine light on right so that means it has a bad cad converter and then he mumbles I will give you $ 1000 for it (ok so just this morning he offered my hubby $ 7000 for it but since he thinks that we are removing it from his shop because we cant afford to have it fixed which is not the case I just dont trust them he thinks he can take advantage of me by offering me $ 1000 for it? I can spend that in an hour. It is in great condtion It is worth more then that and also he is assuming because the check engine light is on that now their are two big problems with it and therefore the truck is now only worth $ 1,000.I said you dont know what the check engine light is on for so you are just assuming and now if i leave my truck there i am sure you will likely find the cadalitic (sp) converter is bad how would he know that from a check engine light. SO this company if you decide not to have them do the fix has the owner call you and low ball an offer for your car by telling you that there are major problems with is. that does not even seem legal. I am now wondering if it even has a bad transmission. I told him I would rather give the truck to my 16 year old daughter then for $ 1000. what a joke.
