Real standup guys, honest friendly knowledgeable and to the point. They will stand behind their work and help you feel comfortable. Will definitely recommend them to anyone and everyone having car issues in the Sacramento/​Elk Grove area. Plus, they have awesome muscle/​classic/​performance cars around the shop.

What can I say except for these guys are AWESOME! It took me a long time to find a good, reliable, and honest auto shop here in Sacramento. KBJ met all of the above and then some.
Keith, Bill, and Joe are true professionals who stand by their work and their business. They are very customer oriented and Keith really works with you in explaining the service details your vehicle is needing. I also love the fact that they warrant their work. I’ve had to take my car back after service and they took care of the problem for me (No hassles!!!). Keith called me up the next day just to make sure I’m 100% satisfied.
Nothing makes me feel worse than spending money on product or service and not being satisfied especially when it comes to costly car repairs. With KBJ, there’s never any remorse. They have earned my trust and confidence and having them for my mechanics, I know my cars will be well serviced and more importantly… Safe to drive for me and my family.

I might sound like a PR person for KBJ, but I’m just a really excited customer who is so excited to finally find a homegrown mechanic I can trust and afford!
KBJ is staffed by honest and highly skilled ASE certified technicians who care about helping people and secondarily about fixing cars. I moved out of Sacramento, but I trust these guys from previous experience so much that I commuted from SF to have them take a look under the hood when my car started making grinding noises.
After diagnostics, they presented me with the issues they encountered, cost of parts, and let me know which services should be performed now (they showed me the worn out part, yikes it was in bad shape!) and which ones could be safely put off for another year, then let me make a judgment call. No sleazy salesman pressure here! Keith, the one who mans the front desk, encouraged me to call my relative (also a high skilled technician) for an opinion before deciding. I opted to have everything taken care of at once, so they knocked down the price to reduce sticker shock.
They also printed my car’s diagnostic history, i.e. error codes stored in my car’s computer that haven’t been cleared by a scan tool yet. It included electrical errors for my stereo which don’t trigger a check engine light; I realize my stereo had issues after the John L Sullivan Chevrolet dealership worked on it. I plan to get a new stereo anyway, but just goes to show I couldn’t even trust the authorized dealership techs who are supposed to specialize in my make and model car, and they charge 2x KBJ’s labor rate!
Anecdote not related to services performed, Keith is also brainstorming ideas about ways to refurbish their lounge to be even more comfortable and accommodating for waiting customers since the immediate area on that stretch of road is mostly commercial or undeveloped. If you bring your car in, I’m sure they’d welcome ideas.

Great service! I called at the close of business due to my radiator hose leaking. They didn’t have part in stock. I explained my situation and Keith went on and helped me locate a part in case I had someone to help me swap the hose. I told him I didn’t and I knew it was the end of the day he told me to come on he would help me get on the road safely. They stayed much later after to repair my hose. The service was thorough. I’m very grateful for these guys otherwise I would have been stranded an hour and half away from home! He offered me discounts from finding him on Unilocal and even on service. He definitely didn’t take advantage just because I was in an emergency situation.

If you’re looking for an honest shop that will truly look out for your best interest, give KBJ a call and talk to Keith. I called around to other shops but I got the best vibe from KBJ and was not disappointed. They stand behind their work and will do right by you. I went in for a timing belt replacement and to fix a rear differential leak. A previous shop asked for $ 300 for the leak because they gave some excuse about having to remove the axle (more labor). Keith assured me that was not necessary and that it could be done for $ 60. Best part is that when the timing belt replacement took longer than expected, Keith waived the entire service on the rear differential. That made me a customer for life.

Hard to find that combination in auto service today!

These guys are honest. That alone warrants the 5 stars! They are efficient, courteous and funny. Well, Keith is. From the inquiry phone call, to the estimate, to giving my elderly parents a lift to a nearby shopping center so they wouldn’t have to wait 4 hours until the service was done. I live in Natomas about 40 minutes away from from KBJ and cringed at the thought of driving all the way there based on a 5-​star Unilocal review. Well, I will never take my cars anywhere else.

After finding the right Automotive Repair shop, my car is finally up and running again! Its hard to trust just anyone when it comes to car repair but the great folks here not only fixed my car, but they did so at a reasonable price too. This is a new business but Keith and his team have lots of experience and know how to take care of their customers! They have a great security monitoring system and lots of storage for the cars they service. Give em a shot and you will be pleasantly suprised!

FINALLY! I found a great shop to take my car. Fixed my Catalytic converter and changed my ignition coils while I relaxed on the couch and watched my favorite tv show in the front office. Keith is awesome!!! A+++++++ Service and now KBJ is my one and only place to take my vehicle. I HIGHLY recommend everyone to give them a call before contacting anyone else. You won’t be disappointed!

I had first called another shop that had been recommended, but when I asked their labor rate, I started to hyperventilate! A couple of co-​workers recommended KBJ, and when I called, the first question I asked was «What’s your labor rate?» KBJ is over 30% LESS per hour!
Keith and the guys at KBJ Automotive are AWESOME! They were quick with a diagnosis and a quote. I had asked them to check out everything, as I had not owned the truck that long and knew there would be other maintenance items needed.
Keith provided me with a list of items needed, and prioritized them in order of importance. No pressure; just helpful suggestions, aside from a very strong suggestion of «Do not tow your mules until you have the brakes done», from Keith.
Friday, late morning, I decided I wanted to go up to the mountains (with mule in tow) and called to find out if I could get brakes done that soon. I knew I was asking a lot, but the guys at KBJ scrambled to make it happen!

I have avoided auto shops for over 10 years because I have never felt that anything other than my money was properly being taken care of. Not so at KBJ. An honest and hard working auto shop that goes the extra mile to make sure that your taken care of and that the money you have spent wasn’t stolen from you. If your looking for a shop to take car of your automotive repairs, I can’t recommend anyone else.
