Vanessa is amazing! I’ve been going to her for five years now. When I wanted to shave one side of my head, she was stoked to go along with it, and when I was ready to grow it out, she was amazing enough to style my hair so the growing out process wouldn’t be so awkward. (Thanks Vanessa!) She also did a gorgeous updo for my wedding. Cannot stress enough how much I love her. What I really appreciate is how she makes you feel comfortable. I used to dread getting my hair cut because I’ve had stylists who are pretentious and/​or awkward, but Vanessa is super laid-​back and fun to talk to. She makes me enjoy and look forward to my hair appointments.

The absolute best place to get a nice, sexy, and sophisticated cut! My stylist is the best. the environment is very cute and super chill! I don’t know what else to say about this place other than its the best I have ever have been to! A must try and definite repeat service!

I found Alissa through instagram and I must say I’m glad I did ! She gave me exactly what I asked for, and even though I changed my mind on what I want im already returning to her a week later for more color! The salon itself is cute and professional. Price wise very affordable for a salon of its kind.

I recently moved to Sacramento and the first person I went to for a bang trim destroyed my bangs – they needed major help. I decided to stop by Kollage (I live in the building) to see if there was anyone there brave enough to try to fix them. Alissa helped me out and did an AMAZING job. I have been going to her since and she always gives me exactly what I want. She’s even started taking me from dark brown to blonde and I love it! Go to Alissa if you want a great colorist/​stylist. You won’t be disappointed.
The salon itself is really clean, cool, and professional. The women who work there are always pleasant and responsive making it very easy to schedule appointments. I definitely recommend giving Kollage a try!

Have been going to Rhea for years and she’s amazing! Salon is chic and modern, great location with plenty of street parking. The staff is personable and attentive, highly recommend!

I used to go to Vanessa every month at her old location — she is a fantastic hairstylist and great conversationalist. Love her! She always listened and was able to translate what I wanted into the haircut. Kollage is an even better location and the staff is friendly… And bonus, yummy green tea for you to sip during your appointment. Vanessa was booked up when I needed a haircut after waiting too long, and I was able to get a nice cut from Rhea. Definitely a winning salon!

I really wanted to like this place. Called in last minute last Friday for a shampoo blow-​out and they were able to accommodate a lunchtime appointment. I was so excited. Perhaps my expectations were too high and perhaps Is been spoiled in the past, but this was by far the most disappointing blow dry ever. Started with a lame quick lather and rinse shampoo (no head massage), incomplete blow dry (not a blow-​out) and curling iron, it looked like what I could do at home. What’s worse is that it didn’t even last the 3 block walk back to my office. I asked a coworker what she thought of my hair and she commented that it looked like I just took it out of the bun that it was twisted up in that morning. No joke. Not worth the money. My recommendation is that they visit a Dry-​bar in SF before they start advertising their services for blow-​outs. They were very nice though, and I may come back for a haircut.

This salon is super nice and full of very talented hair stylists! I get my hair done by Kristin who is wonderful and amazing at what she does. The stylists are also the official hair stylists for the Sacramento Kings Dancers. Heather, the salon’s esthetician, is great! She gives very relaxing and effective facials, waxing, and many other services. I would definitely recommend you check out this place. The front desk staff are awesome and very helpful!

I want to preface this review by saying I have great hair and it takes to color and styling incredibly well so when I went to my usual stylist with a picture of JLo and virgin long brown hair I didn’t expect to walk out with a head of short brassy orange disaster. None the less I gave her several opportunities to fix it and listened to many an excuse as to how difficult my hair is to color. After the third try and having literally bleach spots and dark spots throughout my hair line and multiple shades of orange with zero highlights after sitting in her chair for almost 6 hours with a wet shirt freezing my butt of I decided enough was enough.
I heard about Stephanie from a friend so when I called and explained my situation she could not have been more compassionate or accommodating. She moved around her entire schedule to take me the next morning. When I walked into Kollage I was comforted by how modern and clean it was. They had the most comfortable shampoo station and I felt so well taken care of by Stephanie. She listened to what I wanted and told me step by step her plan for color correction. She executed her work flawlessly not getting a drop of anything on me making sure I was comfortable the entire time. She even brought me a hot tea and when I realized my meter ran out she sent the receptionist to take care of it so I could relax.
After less than the two hour estimate she gave me I was done! She told me in the beginning that it wouldn’t look exactly like the picture as the repair would take another process because she didn’t want to over process and damage my hair this round. With that said she came incredibly close and my hair is almost identical to what I asked for. My brassy orange disaster is gone and I have a beautifully rich soft brown color with amazing blonde highlights that looks incredibly natural.
Not only did she fix my issue but styled my hair in a beautiful beachy look that I’ve been wanting to try and introduced me to a new product I am in love with. I don’t think I have come across a more skilled, professional, and friendly stylist in Sacramento. I would recommend Stephanie and Kollage to anyone. She also happens to be an expert at extensions and I can’t wait to get mine the next time I see her!

I visited Kollage Salon today for the first time at the recommendation of a neighbor. She recommended Stephanie and I would like to share that I could not have been happier with her work — she really listened to my thoughts on color/​cut, followed through on it and did a phenomenal job! I could not be happier and will definitely return as a very satisfied customer. She has a warm and engaging personality as a plus. I am highly recommending her!

Love this salon and the ladies here. Rhea does an amazing job taming and styling my Persian hair, and always has great product recommendations. I jumped around with a lot of hair stylists after moving here from SF, until I found Rhea. The new salon and location are also perfect. Highly recommend.

I have seen Deanna twice for cut and color, and I adore her! She knows what she’s doing and is able to turn my vague comments and suggestions into something great! I really appreciate that she explains what she’s doing while styling it so I can take the tips and use them at home. Plus she is super sweet and fun to chat with :)

I reviewed Vanessa when she worked at White Orchid, but now that she’s at Kollage she deserves another glowing review!
I’ve been through a lot of hairstylists and Vanessa is far and away the best one I’ve ever had. Not only is she super chill and friendly but she is a master of cut and color. I’m fickle with my hair but not to the point where I actually know what I want to do with it; I just know I want a change. I let Vanessa do what she thinks will look best, and I always love it. Sometimes I’ll give her a little direction («I think I want ombré») but generally she just does her thing and it is fabulous. She also doesn’t charge for bang trims, which is nice because one time I attempted to cut my own bangs and it did not go well. Lesson learned.
The salon itself is nice; reception area with some products for sale downstairs and salon itself upstairs. Modern, clean, not huge, nice natural light coming in through the windows. The location is great too. Even though it’s street parking, I haven’t yet had a problem finding a spot right in front of the building.
For reals though, Vanessa is a gem and I can’t imagine anyone else touching my hair. I really appreciate people who have a knack for being creative and knowing what will look good, and she is definitely one of those people.

I love Kristin! This salon is wonderful. The girls that work here are great. Heather helped me with my skin problem over the phone since I was unable to go in and see her. Everyone is great and always so helpful and very knowledgeable.

Vanessa has been doing my hair for something like six years now, and recently moved from White Orchid to Kollage Salon. I was apprehensive about the changes, but so far they are all good.
The salon has a small reception area with product and a little bit of retail to browse while you wait. It’s kind of nice to have a place to sit separate from the actual work area. The receptionist was friendly, greeted me promptly, and offered me water, coffee, or tea.
Upstairs is where the magic happens. The space isn’t terribly large, but the layout is functional, modern looking yet comfortable, and attractive. Giant mirrors, black cabinets and appliances, and a huge window give the place a sleek but cheerful look. Vanessa did the usual color touch-​up and trim, and at no time did I feel rushed, crowded, or uncomfortable. The vibe is energetic and you can really tell how excited the staff are to have this new start in this beautiful new salon.
There is no nail station, which can be inconvenient for someone looking for a one-​stop kind of experience, but honestly I really enjoyed not having to smell the nail chemicals while getting my hair done. It was literally a breath of fresh air. There is a massage and facial station, but it has its own room off the hair room.
Parking may be a bit of a challenge here during weekdays, but the salon is surrounded with two-​hour meters, ten-​hour meters a block or two away, and a couple parking garages nearby. Kollage is located well away from the Downtown all-​day office working parking, so I don’t think getting a meter will be that difficult even at the busiest times.
Kollage is right in the heart of the Handle District, so it would be only too easy to take your bitchin’ new hair out for dinner or drinks.
I’m really looking forward to my next visit.

Damn… busted. I tried to not review Vanessa since she is AWESOME and I wanted to keep her all to myself, so FINNNEE here it goes.
I am picky about who touches my hair and I was let down by my last stylist. I don’t use product, or a iron of any kind, barely own a blow dryer… basically your hair stylist’s nightmare. I want to look great without, well. doing anything to my hair!
The color she uses looks great and shiny and she always has great suggestions and is honest. I will be donating my hair to Locks of Love again in the next couple months so I will try and do a before and after so you can see her great work for yourself…
Unilocalers, please no pushing while you are all running to see Vanessa, and for crying out loud please leave me my standing appt every 4 weeks.
