Kyle’s Rock and Redi-Mix

My husband came here after a suggestion from a neighbor for some decorative rocks for our backyard. They did have a good selection of decorative rocks but their customer service could use some help. We did get a good deal on our rocks with free next day delivery.

Well, here’s someone who has a lot of reviews so you know I’m real.
I’ve had sand, gravel, and rocks delivered by this company. The first couple times, my contractor told me the load definitely looked under what I paid for. The driver said he loaded it himself. Hmmm,. It happened two more times.
Just recent
I had some rock delivered and did the calculations for volume at cu yard. I did them three times and had the guy at Kyles do it too. It was under a yard. So, you would think I would have plenty… right? Wrong?! I told the driver and he said it was over a yard. It was a small area so very easy to measure without screwing up. After reading them out, I have a empty area! Yes, the load they delivered was under. This has happened three times now and I’ve let it pass but this time, I made dam sure and it was still under.
Now, I don’t trust them.

I just left Kyles off Gerber Road. I thought the place was clean and had good customer service. Also, there rock spires (fountains) are very nice for their price.

I called this morning for the dirt I needed to start a lawn in my back yard. The guy on the phone was very nice &I was able to quickly place my order and pay over the phone. They delivered at no extra charge for 5 cubic yards-​and they also had the cheapest price per yard for the compost top soil blend I needed (I used an online soil calculator to determine how much dirt I needed). They were here within the hour, and the man who delivered was really nice, and very efficient (and my son LOVED watching the big dump truck dump our dirt).
The soil we got looks and feels to be good quality. I would recommend their services to anyone, and in fact, will be calling them again when we finish landscaping our large yard.

Had Rock and sand delivered so convenient. I looked at buying bags at Home Depot or Lowes.
It was so inexpensive and I did not have to haul bags of rock and sand.

I had never purchased a trailer of concrete before. These guys answered all my questions, had a great attitude, and we’re very helpful.

DO NOT GO HERE!!! This place sucks. The staff is rude, they shorted my load and they charged me for cleaning the buggy that was a mess when they gave it to me. It ran out of gas within ten minutes of me leaving the lot. It was held together by the dried up concrete inside of it. The job took twice as long as it should have due to the shorted concrete from these hacks and I almost lost the entire load. If I could give them zero stars I would.

I used to use Kyles a lot when they had their plant off of Bradshaw Road. Sometimes they had a little attitude but they were a great company to work with. I was really happy when I discovered they had a small plant on Gerber Road that was not too far from my house. It has a few bays of various gravel and a few concrete trailers for small concrete jobs.
From what I can tell, they are not related. The place on Gerber Road is the worst concrete and gravel yard I have ever been to and I have been to plenty over the last thirty odd years.
The building trades are full of overly macho, emotionally dysfunctional people but over the years I have found the concrete trade to be by far the worst of all. Most concrete finishing companies have a bunch of Mexican people doing the real work with one completely obnoxious, sloppy fat, overly macho, white guy giving the orders. Come to think of it, that is a lot like roofing companies. It has always seemed a bit racist in my book.
Anyway, back to my story. Kyles has one of these classic macho tubs of lard running the office. Their concrete trailers are the worst I have ever come across. Their hydraulics are in terrible shape, the buckets are covered with large chunks of dried concrete, and they do not lift high enough to get your wheel barrow under them. I have never come across trailers other than at Kyles that you could not at least tilt your wheel barrow under the bucket.
My only other gripe is the concrete seems a little inferior. If you use them make sure you get an extra bag of concrete added to the mix. I pride myself in my math abilities and in the past I have always been able to calculate my concrete amazingly close. The last three times I have been to Kyles I have been a cubic foot short when I should have been a cubic foot over. Hmmm??? Maybe I need a new calculator???
The last time I used Kyles, they of course gave me a trailer with terrible hydraulics, large chunks of dried concrete stuck to the sides, and it did not lift over my wheel barrow. I had to shovel the concrete out by hand and spent an exorbitant amount of time and energy digging the fresh concrete out from the dried concrete that was stuck to the sides. The only way I could clean the remaining fresh concrete from the sides was to use a wire brush which seemed ridiculous but I did it anyway.
I get the trailer back to Kyle’s and the fat macho guy from the office checks the trailer and sees water, sand, and traces of concrete that have sloughed from the chunks of concrete that were already stuck on the sides and rudely tells me that I did not clean the trailer good enough and I either have to take it home and «reclean» it or they are going to charge me an extra $ 25 dollars. (Is this a scam or what?) I verbally went off on this obnoxious pile of puke but ended up being ripped off $ 25 dollars anyway.
NEVER AGAIN!!! KYLE’S SUCKS!!! I WOULD RATHER GO FURTHER FOR MY CONCRETE.

My husband has been using them for years … our last 2 experiences with them have been horrible. This last (today), he went to get a trailer of road base and the guy who works in the yard hooked the trailer to our truck. You know most places dont even allow (like Uhaul) for the customer to hook up the equipment. Well the guy who hooked up the trailer to the truck didnt hook it up right and it came off of the truck at about 30 miles per hour. lucky it didnt hit another car, but it came crashing into our truck! Can you say angry!!! When he called Kyles he was rudely told, its not our problem. We have a sign that says when you leave its no longer our responsibility and you sign the contract that says the same. Maybe they need to hire competent people … Will never use them again and spread the word they suck!

Heard about Kyle’s from a friend and could not have been more pleased with the selection, quality and service.
My DG was delivered just hours after I ordered it. Would HIGHLY recommend Kyle’s.
