Vomit. How can they call them selves a spa?

I wish this was a review about Derra’s services but unfortunately I didn’t even get that far. My friends bought me a facial for my birthday and I was super excited about the whole thing. However the DAY OF my birthday Derra informs us that she is unable to show up and cancelled. She said she had an injury, which may have been true but she didn’t even call. She just sent one of my friends an email at around 1 AM. That was that. So we rescheduled. But she didn’t have a number for anyone to call so we had to interact via email. I tried to reschedule with her, but doing so was extremely confusing via email, we couldn’t find a time that worked for both of us through the week so I scheduled it for another Saturday. I arranged for a baby sitter for my son, cleared my schedule and got excited for the appointment again. However, once again, THE MORNING OF, Derra emails me and tells me that she still hasn’t received payment for the service (even though I confirmed with her 48 hours prior and she said we were set) and therefore I would either have to fork over the $ 150 myself or reschedule again. At that point I was livid and told her that her services are no longer desired.
I am a stay at home mother, I don’t get to have many days for me and this was going to be a way for me to finally relax and pamper myself. However due to Derra’s mind blowing unprofessionalism and lack of proper communication it just turned into a day of extreme frustration. I am dazzled by how good of an esthetician she is said to be — that’s all good and very well. But I honestly think when businesses take advantage of people by offering severely lack-​luster customer service it tarnishes the entire experience. I would recommend you save yourself the incredible hassle of dealing with her (for lack of a better word) ghetto customer service and go with a place who has a better knack for dealing with clients.

I haven’t made an attempt to call Derra yet but I’m hoping to get in touch with her at some point. It’s hard to put into words just what the best of the best actually is – Derra is without a doubt THE BEST — If you are looking for someone to slap some wax on and the rip it off your eyebrows calling that «done» well then you won’t appreciate The best of the best — She’s good at what she does — she cares about her clients and OMG — she is soooooo good at shaping eyebrows. I need to get back on schedule with her and soon. When you visit a cosmetics counter at Nordstrom’s and have the staff member gasp and say — OMG who does your eye brows? And she calls other staff over to check out your eyebrows’s — Well if you’ve had THAT experience, you have been to see Derra. Without a doubt THEEEEE Best — No one anywhere that does anything even close to what she can do — You’ll need an appointment — she’s worth a visit — you’ll be gong back for more

I will state up front that I went to Derra at La Vita Bella because she is a friend of a friend … and I thought her story about why she went into skin care was very cool and humbling. (If you want to know, you’ll have to go in and ask her! ;)
Anyway, I will first say that the service she provides is very unique based on the product line that she uses — which is all natural and is based on whole fruits, vegetables and spices. So natural that you want to eat the stuff she puts on your face! (Ok, I did take just a tiny little lick. Delicious.) She gives an awesome facial and head, neck shoulders massage too!
The salon is beautiful and relaxing, and you’ll never want to leave!
Only things that have kept me from going back … 1. The cost 2. I got charged for an hour and a half treatment when it was only one hour long due to the fact she was not ready when I got there for my appointment.
I wanted to say something, but didn’t, so in that respect, it’s kind of my fault! Maybe I’ll go back again and ask her about it … I’ll give an update if I do.
