My Family and I had been coming here for OVER20YEARS but we will not be returning after this incident: I went in for a routine cleaning. After I finished and got home, I felt a pain in my tooth and saw that it had a small chip in it. Remembering back on the appointment, when I was rinsing I felt a small«crumb» come out of my mouth, the tooth chip. I called the receptionist, Pat, the next day to tell her I was in pain and that the chip had occurred under the care of the dentist, and therefore was their fault. I made an appointment the next day to fix the chip, which they did. However, they tried to charge me for fixing the damage that they inflicted. I explained that I didn’t think I should have to pay for something that they broke. After receptionist Pat called me a liar, she said, «If you don’t have faith in Dr. Templin’s dentistry, you can go somewhere else!» Wow! I couldn’t believe that they would treat me this way after so many years, over a relatively small amount of money.

Nice little dental office. When I moved here, the first dentist I was referred to used a technician to clean my teeth who had a tattoo on her hand. Not something I want in my mouth. Templin was #2, referred by my prior dentist down in South City, Dr. Sheridan. I’ve been going here now for a few years, and my cleanings are well-paced, consistent, the billing is reasonable, the office is homey, and the experience is generally pleasant. Also a great location and conveniently located near everything. Added bonus, Dr. Templin knows a thing or two about Sacramento in the old days…

Dr. Larry is my all-time favorite dentist. I’ve been going to see him for a bunch of years now. Why, you ask? The man is a born raconteur. He is great at telling tales that get your mind off the work he’s doing in your mouth. I actually look forward to going in for a checkup. Be warned, he does not use gas. He’s old school novocaine, but he’s so adept at getting a patient numbed I never even felt the needle. I used to be pretty stressed and clenched up at the dentist; with Dr. Larry, I just relax. He’s thoroughly competent at what he does and stays on top of new tech in dentistry. I like his staff, too. Two things: Dr. Larry doesn’t do email for appointment requests or reminders, and the area by his office is all parking meters, so bring a bunch of quarters.
