LifeSafer Igntion Interlocks

Everyone that works for lifesafer has been kind and patient with me. Getting the iid wasn’t ideal but they answered all my questions and didn’t make it a big deal. Thanks lifesafer!

The installer was friendly, however, going on my second month the machine locked me out, and I can prove that I had no alcohol in my system! It’s all a scam by the state of California to rake in revenue that is just short of extortion! My first service date was supposed to be October 10^th, I’m locked out as of today! Thank God for AAA!
As it turns out, LIFESAFER, has made a difference in me! Although I feel that the existing DWI laws are simply REVENGE laws, I also think that LIFESAFER, has fulfilled their obligations to the state!
Bottom line is that it works!
Simply put, I was mistaken regarding the charges for a FAIL/​LOCK OUT, in that in fact the rules are there, just have to read carefully!
No matter what, it does the job, and I’m sure that nobody hates it more than me!

Let’s face it. The only reason anyone comes here is because a judge somewhere said that we had to for a mistake we all have made. The ordeal and painstaking process to clear and keep our driving privileges, is needless to say embarrassing to have a required device.
The staff at Lifesaver was nothing but professional. No judgement stares, no snickers between staff, no rude comments or attitude from customer service reps on the phone. it defiantly made this part of my process a little easier to deal with.
Johnathan has been the familiar face throughout my required service and has been very great to work with. He always had a way of making you feel like you were just coming to visit and old friend rather then pay your due’s for the required punishment from the state.

The guys here at this location are super nice! Never had any issues with any of the installers and they were always very informative. Never had any problems with this device either. Definitely the place to go if the courts order u to get a blower. 2 thumbs up!

The staff here is always friendly helpful and accommodating, for as horrible as this experience seems they do their best at making it pain free and convenient! They will always have my recommendation!

I can imagine working here would be rough. No one would be happy to come to this place due to the impact it has on your life.
What I got that I didn’t expect was friendly service techs who put up with my many many questions and offered some moral support and advice for getting through this mistake of mine.
The location is awesome and discreet. I don’t really wanna run into anyone I know while getting my device serviced.
The price is fair and I have never had to wait for them as they have always been ready at my appointment time.
I read the below reviews and they do not seem consistent with the experience I have had. Possibly the company may have restaffed.

I write this as I sit in the Lifesafer parking lot, waiting for a tow truck. This has probably been one of the most frustrating aspects of the whole DUI process. I should of knew better when a tow truck pulled up with a vehicle as I was going through the registration/​paperwork process with the tech.
I had my interlock installed on a Monday. The installation should take an hour or so. Mine took roughly 2.5 hours with very little explanation as to why. The tech stated that it was related to my alarm. He decided to change the battery to my key fob without first consulting with me.
After 2.5 hours and $ 181 later I was on my way. Things were fine until Wednesday evening. I blew a ‘pass’ only to have my car completely shut off after throwing it in reverse. No dash lights, no radio, car would not even crank. I called roadside assistance for a jump. That did nothing. My only option was to leave the car overnight and have it towed in the morning.
Fast forward to Thursday morning. I had my car towed to Lifesafer, arriving right as they opened. They discovered a blown 50 amp fuse, no doubt caused by the interlock. They didn’t own up to it. They then went on to state that a short occurred due to touching wires. They offered to drive out to Auburn to locate a replacement fuse but I was over it at that point. I can’t drive around with this thing if I have zero confidence in its ability to do what its designed to do.
The issue was caused by poor installation techniques, nothing more. I immediately requested a refund. Now I have to go the dealership service center, the DMV, and another ignition interlock service center.
All around bad experience. Avoid if you can.

Had the car towed to a local Honda dealership. They pinpointed the issue to a blown ignition/​accessory fuse. They also had choice words for the installation process for the recently removed interlock. Unfortunately, the part wasn’t immediately available so I’ll be without a car for another day or so.

8÷27÷2014 — I came across David N.‘s response to my rating. For clarification, the alarm on my vehicle is not an after-​market installation or product. It is OEM Honda. The installation of the interlock was the only after-​market installation. Thanks.
