Gabby was great, amazing job, went there to get make up done for a wedding, she really listened to what I wanted. I would definitely go there again if in the area. Thanks Gabby!

I understand this is a busy store so I can’t expect a lot of one on one time, but the service I got was great! I loved the artist I worked with she was very patient and she listened to my needs. I ended up spending $ 200 worth of product

I purchased a mineral foundation about a month ago. I used it once and did not like the minimal coverage, but because I do not live near the area I have not had the chance to make the trip. The sales rep at the time said that if I do not like the product I can come back and return it and don’t even need the receipt as they keep a log of all my purchase in my client file. So yesterday I went in and first of all they would not return the product without a receipt. Secondly, the $ 200 something I spent that day, none of those items were logged! After back and forth with one of the managers saying they can’t return the product without a receipt and not acknowledging that their sales rep had made a wrong statement, she hands me a slip with an 800 number to call for customer service. I do not live near the mall and made this trip all the way there. Needless to say I will not shop at that location again. I’ve always loved MAC products and have purchased many of their products for the past 12 years. The Arden store does not seem to have their customer service together. I visit the store every time I’m at the mall and can never get assistance. I have asked to get assistance on foundation and they said no one is available to help, but I see 3 or 4 reps walking around asking if customers needed help. I am not going back to that store anymore. I will go to the Downtown Plaza Macys instead. I will contact their customer service regarding this and make sure their corporate office is made aware of how bad the customer service is in that store. The Downtown Plaza Macys MAC counter is a lot smaller and once there was one rep working and multiple customers were there. He made sure he acknowledged every one and he didn’t rush me and answered all my questions. That’s customer service. Arden can use some training.

Truly hate this location. I don’t typically give ratings to retail or beauty stores because well, it doesn’t matter as much as my experience at a restaurant. But I hated my experience every time I came into this store (up to five times so far). I wanted to give this place a chance because I figured it’s just an individual thing, but nearly every single sales associate here is god awful.
Every time I ask a question no one has time for you, and they talk to you like they’re above you or can’t believe you’re asking them a question. They act busy but aren’t really doing anything, then act super peppy to their friends who come in the store. I don’t ever really trust their recommendation because I don’t feel like they’re really paying attention. What the hell are you there for then if you’re not going to match me with a good product???

I called him to ask a question about a previously bought products.
I purchased the Mac 188 Small Duo Fibre Face Brush, The brush has been leaving Brussels on face after applying mac pro long where foundation.
The lady that answered the phone was not very helpful and not apologetic for the problem I was experiencing with the products that I had purchased previously. She had a horrible attitude which is not a good thing over the phone. I will never be visiting the store again because of the rude associate’s lack of customer service and helping solve my problem.
So upsetting because I love Matt. Will just be purchasing from nordstroms from now on that gives great customer service.

This location does not deserve ANY stars.
I am writing a review now, finally, after being fed up for the last time.
For starters, I am not a once in a blue moon buy a couple lipsticks and powder type customer, although all customers deserve an employee’s time and respect. I spend hundreds of dollars a year if not thousands on Mac makeup, because it is my favorite brand. I enjoy makeup and collect it, I do not receive discounts or have a pro card.
Every time I have came to this location, I am NEVER greeted. I have experienced rude, non-​helpful, and inexperienced ‘artists’ time and time again. I am not a professional, but to be honest I feel like I know more than most when it comes to makeup. Anytime I ask for specific colors or products, either A, no one takes the time to look further than a few seconds at the display, or B they tell me they don’t carry a specific color that I know they have and it’s not limited edition.
In summary, whoever does the hiring here should really consider these reviews. Liking Mac as a brand can only go so far if the people representing your brand are Horrible. I rather spend my money at sephora. Luckily, I went to lush right after and their amazing service made my day better.

I’ve had plenty of good experiences here and have bought a lot of Mac makeup (I have a pro card). I did unfortunately have a bad experience a few weeks ago. It bothered me so much I called up the store and left a message for the manager Beck.
He called me back promptly and listened and sympathized with me about the situation. The girl i had the problem with was not an actual full time artist but an independent artist that’s trying to get hired full-​time. Needless to say Beck apologized and apologized and made me feel heard and much better about the situation.
I will def be coming back here and putting my bad experience behind me. Thank you Beck for listening and being so kind about the situation.

On Friday a client showed up 10 minutes late to their appointment to her appointment and they still did her makeup. Today I was 7 minutes late and they gave my appointment away to a walk in. I made my appointment 2 weeks ahead. The manager is very racist. She took her «people» (black girl) before and she told me to stand in store, I’ve been standing here for 45 minutes and she hasn’t even came to check in and I’m seeing her just welcoming people who are walking in. This is really racist and unacceptable.

It’s MAC make-​up at MAC make-​up prices.
The employees are always really nice despite the fact that they are always extremely busy. You’d think they were giving something away here with how busy it always is in this store.
Here is another place where you will find a crowd similar to that you can find waiting at the Broadway DMV whenever it is open. Everybody from everywhere loves trendy make-​up.
I worked at a cosmetic counter for years. I can’t say that my attitude toward the general public was then or is now even a quarter as positive as EVERY member of the staff here. Why are they so nice? How is it even possible?! I have concluded that they must get paid very well. I thought I was pretty nice when I was an artist, but, no, I am certain now after experiencing this that I was not nice and that I was probably the opposite.
I listened to some of these artists with their customers and I would have said «oh hell no» at least three times by the time I left. This seems unnatural to be this pleasant in this circumstance. I’ll say it again to emphasize my point.
But even still. if I had to go to the mall 5 days a week (which means you have to park, at the mall, and that you have to be, at the mall, for 8 hours each day) to earn a living, there would be a lot of evil, vengeful insane-​clown-​whore makeovers walking out of this store everyday. Working at a mall is no joke, and I have no patience.
These people are so happy and positive in these near third-​world conditions, that I have to give them five stars. Maybe they have healed their lives with Louise Hay or something.
Oh and the nail polish is great.

Why is this MAC store such a hot mess? There is no «hello» or «welcome» walking in.
I made the mistake of coming in here needing a huge haul of make up and asked for a bit of advice on products. I didn’t catch the MUA’s name who obviously must have been free lance as she had ZERO skills. I usually only go to Veronica at this location but she wasn’t there.
I advised the MUA of the foundations I did not like and how much coverage I wanted/​needed and she brought the ones I didn’t like. She then began to «paint» with long strokes and not blending using the match master and studio fix foundations, even after I told her I didn’t like either of those. I also told her I needed a new concealer and advised her I did not want the select cover up and she still brought it over. She then walked away and started ringing people up. Really?!? I waited about 5 minutes until I walked up to the register and told her every shade (which was all the same number!) I needed and she walks away and brings everything back. I end up walking out with over $ 250 worth of products.
When I walked out to my car I realized I forgot to check the colors to make sure she gave me the correct ones and of course she didn’t. I was off on all the products along with the wrong color eyeshadows. I said to myself forget it and headed to the next MAC which is Roseville and met the nicest girl who helped me return everything Arden sold me and actually gave me the correct colors and tested the waterproof foundation which I loved!
You just lost another customer, when I’m in a pinch I’ll head into Nordstrom.

I would only recommend this store if you know exactly what you want. I’m serious, it’s an in and out sort of place. The only nice thing about this particular Mac location is the make up on all of the staff’s faces. The service is absolutely terrible.
At most you may get a «Welcome to MAC» but that’s it. If you are looking for someone to be invested in you finding what you’re looking for, go to Sephora or Ulta. I’m a make up novice so I often have lots of questions, but this place was of no help at all.
Overall, the service was terrible and the product was great. But I’m sure you can find just as great product else where.

I love MAC cosmetics and many of their products but this review is based on the customer service at this location (or more like lack thereof).
On several occasions I would come in & make eye contact with employees who aren’t busy tending to other customers yet they don’t ask if I need any help nor greet me. I should not have to stare down an employee to get some assistance. Even when I come in on a day where it isn’t crowded with people, the employees still manage to wander off past me and make me feel invisible.
During my last visit, there was a line of customers including myself that was blatantly ignored while employees rang up customers they personally helped. The other customers in line behind me and I were utterly confused why they didn’t think it was rude that they did not help us first. This happened several times to the point where I had waited in line for 10 minutes before I just left to go purchase my products at the MAC counter in Nordstrom, which is where I’ll be going from now on.

This review is not product based AT ALL. I Absolutely love MAC product
The customer service here is awful, it’s typical when I walk in people at the counter are standing behind the registers chit chatting amongst each other and when you approach the register you almost have to jump up and down to be recognized. I hate that when I come in here rarely will I be welcomed in, which seems to be etiquette for most establishments. There seems to be alot more snooty females working here lately which is cool but your working directly with people, so would seem like «people skills» would be important for hiring staff to witness. Most of the time I come in here there’s half naked women running around, and/​or men that think they are women. So if your looking for employment and have horrible customer service skills and have no class while dressing yourself in the morning. look into applying.
My cashier today was confused when I made a purchase for $ 29.30and handed her a 20.00 $ bill and a 10 $ bill and looked at me. turned and asked her co worker …“so should I give her a dollar back?” So apparently kindergarten math is not a requirement either! Smh…

Ok so this place is a nightmare — with the exception of Beck and Gaby. Both managers and very talented artists. And the ONLY reason, I’ve given this place 3 stars. 5 stars for them. 0 stars for customer service/​lack of artist talent.
Let me explain:
The first time I went to this location was this past December. I was going to a formal and I got paired with a freelancer. I was hesitant because I am SUPER picky and like a very GLAM look (think Lilly Ghalichi) and this freelancer looked like she didn’t even know how to apply her own makeup! So anyway I’m hoping she pulls through. By the time she was «done» my face looked ASHY — my eyeliner was crooked and my eyeshadow just looked awful — like she mixed a bunch of colors and decided to call it a smoky eye. I could’ve done a better job myself!
So anyway, the manager Gaby took all the makeup off and reapplied it. She took REALLY good care of me and dealt with my mini panic attack very professionally. Gaby is very talented and I’d highly recommend her. I was infuriated however because I was in this store for 6 hours this day.
Fast forward 5 months later. I have my college graduation and book with Gaby — I ask that a note be placed to call me in case Gaby is for some reason not available. Just to be safe, 2 days before my grad I call and confirm that Gaby will be doing my makeup. An employee says she is. Great! I’m excited.
NOT.
I arrive and apparently Gaby is on VACATION?!? and it’s been known for quite some time. UH ok so why the F did someone tell me she was in? I WAS ABOUT TO GO OFF ON SOMEONE
Thank GOODNESS the manager, Beck, was in. He listened to what I wanted, did exactly that and MORE! He is so utterly talented and so pleasant. Beck legitimately radiates positive energy and I enjoyed him doing my makeup. He took care of me immediately when he found out the situation and made me look FAB in under an hour just in time for my grad. Most definitely beats the 6 hours I spent in this store last time. Beck you are incredible and made me SO happy! Love you!
If you want your makeup done WELL, I HIGHLY recommend Beck or Gaby. Otherwise, avoid.

I went in the other day to turn in YEARS worth of recycles and was able to get 3 new products — 1 eye shadow and 2 lipsticks!
I have to say that’s one of my favorite things about Mac is the recycling program.
I have switched my makeup time and time again but I always love Mac eyeshadows and lipsticks.

Came in around 1p to buy some more foundation. Was greeted by a VERY nice lady and she helped me get what I needed asked if I had any more shopping and directed me to the line.
When I finally got to the counter the chick was rude as all heck and was short, brash and demeaning. I asked a question about the recycle program, she didn’t want to tell me.
As I complete my order, spending much more than anticipated because I picked up a few items while standing in line, I ask again about the recycle program; she was snotty, disrespectful and reminded me why I always go to Nordstroms.
Never again will I shop at this location.

This was my fourth time at this MAC store and every single time has been a disappointment. This store is always full of people, and I understand if it’s always busy, but despite the business, service is horrible.
Every single time, from all different staff here, I’ve never once felt welcomed. Every time I stop by, I would already have something I wanted to buy in mind and would just need a sales associate to grab a new one for me. But every single time, I would stand here for a few minutes to be acknowledged, but many of the girls would just look right pass me, and go about their tasks EVEN when they’re not helping any customers (which bewildered me!).
When I couldn’t get anyone’s attention, I would approach one of the girls myself, JUST to ask them to grab an item for me, only to get a dissatisfied/tiresome/“what is it, I’m busy” stare back. No smiles, no friendliness, no service. For example, my most recent and WILL BE MY LAST visit, I asked a sales associate to get a lipstick for me (she was just organizing the counters), but she referred me to the cash register counter and said «if you bring it up there, they will just grab it to you» in the most unenthusiastic tone ever. When I brought it to the cashier, the girl at the cashier looked at me like I was crazy, so I told her I was just told to bring the sample lipstick to the cashier and you would just grab it for. She stood there questioning me what exactly did the girl who sent me here said and WHO it was. For how crowded the store was, how was I supposed to remember?! I told her I don’t even see the girl who sent me here and she seriously just gave me a slight eye roll and went to grab it. Then she gave me a hassle about an exchange just because I purchased my exchanging item in Southern California, whining about how she couldn’t read the receipt store number, called her manager up to the cashier and everything. The manager took one look at it and saw the store # right away.
I am UTTERLY upset and disappointed with this store’s customer service (which is none). The Sephora girls next door are absolutely friendly and helpful. I recommend shopping at Sephora instead. OR the MAC in Nordstrom’s is a much better option.
Cya to this MAC store, I’m never coming back. I’ve had it.

And to MAC corporate or manager of this location: please train your staff members better. Take into consideration the many reviews by the customers that got treated this same way. ._.

The YouTube Vlogger inside of me wants to do a MAC Haul, cause i got crazy there last night!
After a long annoying day (also payday) at work, i beelined it to this store.
I had my eye on trying a few new foundations, so as soon as I locked eyes with an employee she asked me if i needed help.
Her name was Vero and she was SO nice! she did my makeup for quite a while, we had fun testing products on my face and gossiping. It was just what I needed. .some fun distracting girly time.
We /​I decided the MatchMaster foundation looks AWESOME on me! .so i grabbed that as well as a bunch more staple products like the prep+prime face primer, which I LOVE!
The girls at the cashier seems snotty, and one was brand new, but after chatting them up they loosened up a bit.
I always like coming in here. .DON’T COME ON WEEKENDS! cause it gets jam packed lol go to the Nordstrom one.

Two stars for the guy who rang me up being friendly and professional.
Zero stars for the store. It was so jam packed crowded that it was ridiculous. The makeup aisles were so small a child would have issues getting through. The Mac associates on the floor were rude, cold and unhelpful. It was loud, wild, and just too much of a resemblance of a zoo. I get it’s Saturday, but dang you guys need a larger store space in that mall! I pretty much needed to pop a Zanex prior to entering.

Well A. It’s MAC… which means your about to buy make-​up! YEAH! Instant Star! Hahahah. B. That feeling you get when you walk in and see all the COLOR and PRODUCT… DOUBLE YEAH! :D C. It’s MAC… meaning there’s one in every Macy’s /​Nordstrom… and now even in their own stand alone stores.
THIS MAC is a little crowded… like always. Even when it’s empty, you feel eyes on you from the staff and there’s not a lot of moving around that you can do which tends to promote a get-​in get-​out kind of mentality… and I tend to like to peruse… look at colors, test them on my hand, check out glosses, and bronzers, etc.
It’s hard because it seems like all MAC/​make-​up stores are like this but I have been to other locations that are a lot more open. This is a rather small space holding a LOT of stuff in it, so just be ready to be a little claustrophobic while you’re here and it’s all good!
