We came here for a new mattress for my son since he’s moving out on his own. I was floored by the great reviews and am happy to note, they aren’t wrong! We got a Queen pillow top mattress and box spring for him for only $ 299 and a pillow top for us. Wonderful, knowledgeable service and Karen gave us a nice discount, too. Goodbye, Sleep Train, you’ve lost our business. This place is the best.

I would have given 5 stars but there was an issue with my order and I didn’t appreciate the way I was treated when I tried to address it. With that being said, I love the bed!
I got a package deal from Moises that included free delivery and one other concession. Although he gave me the first concession he agreed to, he did charge my debit card for the delivery free which he had agreed to waive not five minutes prior to charging my card. I don’t know how I missed that in the store, but I did miss that charge somehow. I was in a rush to head out and be somewhere so maybe that’s what it was. Later on during the day, I was doing the math and it seemed to high. Sure enough, I figured it out. He had charged me for delivery. Not a big deal, I will just call and discuss the «error.» When I pointed out to Moises over the phone that he had charged me for the delivery fee that he had agreed to waive at the time of the sale but he kept giving me circular reasonings, it seemed, as to why he did that. I kept saying, ««but you told me you you would waive the delivery fee.» Again, more circular reasoning and doubletalk. I was surprised as the transaction in store went so smoothly and I hadn’t read one Unilocal review where this happened to anybody else. Why me? *le sigh*. So I ask Moises to please waive the delivery fee as he had agreed to do at the time of sale and he refused to credit me the delivery fee! He said, «Mr. L., we’re not going in that direction!» I was so shocked I was p/​o at that point! How unethical.
I asked to speak with the owner and he told me she was just going to tell me the same thing that no refund would be given.
I demanded to speak with her having tired of the seemingly unethical behavior and circular reasoning with Moises. Karen, the owner, who had been very pleasant when I called prior to the sale of the bed, came on the phone and got my side of the story as well as speaking to her employee. She agreed to go ahead and send out the refund for the delivery fee with the delivery of the bed. Karen was not what I would call polite. She did solve the problem, Thank you Karen, but she cut me off quickly without trying to hear anything about my frustration. She told me she had to leave the office so as to cut me off when I tried to vent a little about the situation. Borderline rude without being rude.
I just wanted to come in here and buy a bed without all this hassle and mistreatment. I really wanted to give 5 stars and have a wonderful experienced like everyone else. Not sure what happened.
What would have been nice is when I had called back to speak to Moises, would have been for him to take ownership of the issue and admit he had made a mistake and offer to correct the problem the first time. The way he spoke to me reeked of shady business tactics. Must have been an off day.

Great experience! Pretty good selection, but the service was great. Karen was so nice! Not pushy, extremely helpful, and I felt comfortable with the entire transaction! I called her many times (almost harassing status) with questions and she was very sweet! If your looking for a mattress go there! The prices are good too!

This place is a hidden gem. They have great customer service and when you go in the store they don’t try and sell you stuff you don’t need like other big box mattress stores. They actually try and find whats right for you. I recently just bought an adjustable base (love it!) and the delivery came on time. There was an issue with the base not being able to fit into my current bed frame. I was thinking to my self what a hassle this is going to be. But instead I was able to call the store and speak to the person that sold me the base and my problem was fixed in under 3 min. Love this store and will be shopping here for my next bed.
side note: love the fact that they make custom mattress pads and mattresses if you need one for a boat or trailer.

That little innerspring mattress that came with our hide-​a-​bed was like sleeping on nails. Karen told me to come on down and sold me a mattress that is absolutely divine! All I can say to those chumps at Sleep Train and Ashby’s, EAT YOUR DAMN HEARTS OUT BECAUSE YOU AIN’t GETTING A CENT MORE OF THIS IRISHMAN’S MONEY!

I looked around at 3 other places that carry mattresses, including IKEA. After seeing the reviews on Unilocal, I decided to give the Mattress Factory a try. I am so glad I did. You know what I liked best about it? No high-​pressure sales people hanging onto you to push a sale. These folks — they are informative, have been in business a long time, and even went the extra mile to properly set up two twin beds on storage bedframes of mine that were slightly undersized. The beds are fabulously comfortable and prices were great! Thank you Karen & Company for a job well done. I have no compunctions at all in recommending this company to anyone in the market for a new bed.

The most comfortable shopping experience I have ever had! Karen was the epitome of customer service! She never haggled us and honestly was just trying to get the best deal for us. She was very thorough and always started with the cheaper option. After going with the more expensive choice, she gave us a discount to get the price down as well as threw in a free mattress cover. Something we didn’t ask for and certainly weren’t expecting it. We just liked the more expensive mattress so this was a huge bonus for us.
Great selection, unbeatable prices, & free delivery would bring anyone back to this store but the customer service makes this place the only place I would buy my mattresses from. We can’t wait to have our mattress delivered!

I don’t have anything to add to the reviews here, really. I just wanted to reinforce what everyone is saying. Karen is really personable and took me straight to what I was looking for. For most purchases, I like that sweet spot where the quality is there, but the price is still reasonable. I picked the first mattress she had shown me and it was delivered the same day. It is amazingly comfortable. I would definitely recommend this place to friends.

My husband and I were very pleased with our experience here. Moses helped us purchase our mattress and he was very informative and not pushy, like you might find at Sleep Train or somewhere else. He listened to our desires in a mattress and then helped us narrow down the selection until we made a decision! A five star experience for sure. We are glad to have spent our money here.

We have been shopping at the Mattress Factory on and off for 20 years. We have bought beds for our kids but we’ve always been seduced by «deals» at other stores when it came to our bed. No more!
Karen does such a great job of explaining options that it’s insane to go elsewhere. I’m larger than the average bear which means I kill mattresses. Karen took the time to describe the trade-​off between comfort and durability. She recommended several options and talked us through our decision. We ended up making a purchase that we can’t wait to sleep on.

Great selection, huge inventory and great staff. Karen provided a free pillow for the twin bed mattress we picked up, and was really helpful. Lots of good bed options as well as bedding. Even some remade mattresses, which offers low cost options for those with tight budgets.

The best service ever especially Moses… I got exactly what I wanted and when they came to set my mattress up they fixed the cracked side board on my bed. I highly recommended them if you want an affordable mattress and great service !

This is a great place. I had two different sets of mattresses made for my motorhome and they work very well. I did not know there was a place in Sacramento that can make custom mattresses. Very helpful folks that I enjoyed doing business with.

This review is long overdue but I’d like to begin by stating that purchasing a mattress set at Mattress Factory and Furniture Outlet was one of the most positive retail experiences of my life, and there have been many over the years. Karen is one of the most thoughtful and helpful people, retail or not, that I’ve ever met. I’ll attempt to explain the circumstances involved with my purchase below.
As others have previously mentioned, I was also in need of a new mattress set and was dreading the thought of dealing with pushy sales people at some of the larger local chain stores. Sure enough, I had unfavorable customer service experiences with two different local stores and became even more reluctant to continue my purchase process.
On a whim I decided to check Unilocal and, due to their exceptionally favorable reviews, I chose to pay Mattress Factory & Furniture Outlet a visit during a lunch break at work. Upon my arrival I was immediately greeted by Karen who was incredibly personable and made me feel right at home. She provided an extensive tour of the showroom, pointed out the differences between mattress sets, and patiently answered all of my questions. Within minutes I knew that this was the place for me — selection, price and exceptional customer service were all present in abundance. After spending a bit of time trying out the various firmness levels I decided on an extra firm model, thinking that I would benefit from increased mattress lifespan based on the added material included in a firm mattress. This turned out to be both a mistake and a learning opportunity.
The delivery and installation process were beyond my expectations but within two days I began noticing nagging shoulder & lower back pain (I’m primarily a side sleeper) and a major decrease in sleep quality. My transition from a lumpy, sagging mattress to an extra firm model was not going as well as I had planned. The following day, during another work lunch break, I visited Karen and explained the situation. She emphasized that her immediate concern was more about my sleep quality than haggling over the return process, and immediately began working with me to identify the correct mattress for my needs. After a bit more testing I decided on a replacement mattress set that was one step down in firmness. Karen was kind enough to waive the restock fee (but, in all fairness, included an additional delivery fee) and arranged for delivery of the new mattress set the following day. After experiencing the discomfort of sleeping on my previously purchased mattress, and not knowing what to expect during the exchange process, I was so grateful and appreciative for how Karen handled everything. Within two days I was sleeping on the perfect mattress set, and have been doing so for over a year now. No problems at all with the set and I expect it to easily last several more years. I enjoyed my experience here so much I made a return trip to purchase a sleigh style bed frame and matching media chest.
Again, I can’t speak highly enough about my experience and will continue to go out of my way to recommend Karen and the kind folks at Mattress Factory and Furniture Outlet to anyone interested in purchasing a new mattress set.

If you’re looking for an affordable mattress and great customer service, this is the place to go! I would recommend this place to ANYONE — especially college students. Their rebuilt mattress sets are a deal!
So here’s my story: I lived in the dorms for 4 years before this school year. I finally decided to give apartment life a try (and boy am I glad I did but that is another story) and with that I knew I would need a bed. I was looking for a full sized pillow top mattress and box spring set with a standard bed frame.
I am someone who loves to do my research. I called many local places specific to the Howe and Arden area since that is where I am living. Many places had good customer service but their prices were outrageous. They were all $ 500+. When I called the Mattress Factory I was expecting something similar but they quoted me $ 299 for a REBUILT mattress set. I originally spoke with Karen about this (who was just as kind and amazing as described in the reviews!) who explained to me that a rebuilt mattress set is stripped of all the old fabric/​bedding/​cushioning/​basically anything that could be considered yucky. They (as in the Mattress Factory) examine the coils and replace any that need it and then put new fabric/​bedding/​cushioning in and sanitize it of course to be able to re-​sell it. She wasn’t pushy at all — just wanting to help me out which I appreciated.
Here’s the thing: I was living in the bay area at the time so I basically had to order the bed and get the description over the phone. I explained this to Moises, the amazing young man who took my call, and asked him if they even had any full-​sized rebuilt billow top mattresses. He said they only had 2 — and that they do go pretty fast. I asked if there was any way I could put it on hold with my credit card and he said he would do it free of charge! He even tested the beds to see which was the softer out of the two (since they were both considered more firm pillow top) since I told him I’m a side sleeper!
I went to test my mattress about a week later at their location (yep, Moises held it a whole week for me without even knowing I’d take it). They had SO many other selections too I might add. Overall, I loved the mattress set! It was super comfortable — not too firm, not too plush either. He said he could deliver it the next day by 10AM.
So, this is what I got for a total of $ 388:
–the mattress set ($ 299)
–a bed frame ($ 39)
–delivery ($ 20 — depends on your location for this cost)
–2 pillows (FREE!)
It was delivered the next morning right on time. Moises and another man brought the mattress set up to my room (which is on the second floor I might add) AND set it up — all of this in less than 20 mins! He thanked me, had me sign and just like that my new bed was set up.
It’s been about 2 months since I got my mattress set and I LOVE it. I sleep very well and I couldn’t ask for more — especially when I paid less than $ 400 total! Why am I writing this review now? BECAUSE OF MOISES! The great customer service continued even after purchase — Moises sent me a thank you card which I appreciate so much! What a nice personal touch.
I give this place 5 stars and I will tell everyone I know about it! Good customer service goes a long way with me and this place exceeded my expectations. Thanks Karen and Moises for an excellent experience with the Mattress Factory!

So I went to see Karen based on Unilocalers. I am so grateful that I can count on my Unilocal community! Karen was all that and two bags of baked chips! She was personable and knew her product bay bay! She even went so far as to ask me how I sleep, which side I sleep on and what kind of moving I did. Awesome lady. She had many customers that day but I still felt like she was paying attention to me. I decided and she made sure that I got same day delivery even though it was coming up on closing time. It was a great experience. I am not sure if it is good and normal practice, but she gave me two pillows and that was the bomb dot com! The mattresses are amazing and I had the best night’s sleep ever with them and my new pillows. Go see Karen! You will not be disappointed. Neighborhood is a little spotty but it’s a good business to patronize because of Karen.

I was dreading buying a new mattress and box spring simply because up selling is so distracting to me. After a quick Unilocal search I headed to Mattress Factory to get it over with.
They were amazing! Friendly and informative but not at all pushy. All the mattresses they recommended were comfortable and they were in no way trying to push the expensive models.
I narrowed my choices down by lying in my various sleeping positions on each bed and they were not at all annoyed and encouraged it as well as gave me space and time to decide.

When I walked in, I noticed a good amount of selections in mattresses. Karen greeted us and guided us around the store and asked if we were looking for anything in particular. At this moment we didn’t know what we wanted and were just shopping around. So Karen was kind enough to give us our space and wasn’t a pushy sales person.
So we tested and laid on a few different mattresses and Karen explained to us all the different specs and prices of each mattress. We couldn’t make up our minds so decided to leave and check out a few other places.
After an hour of shopping at other places, we decided to come back to Mattress Factory. Karen greeted us once again and helped us find the perfect mattress. After narrowing down our choices, we finally decided on a mattress that we wanted and also ended up getting a new bed frame as well. Mattress could have been delivered within the next day but the bed frame we wanted would have to be delivered in 4 days so we chose to have it all delivered together.
4 days later, bed was delivered as promised. The guys assembled our whole bedset within 40mins and we were completely satisfied.

Once upon a time there was a girl named Jana and this girl had a California King TempurPedic bed that she loved… A lot…
Then one day she got a divorce from the husband that she shared her beloved bed with and left the bed behind along with the husband… it was one of «those» items that people in those situations refuse to part with and fight over custody about so she left it behind… She’s missed it every day since… The bed; not the husband…
Yeah… That’s about it in a nutshell…
Flash forward a few years & it’s that time again to purchase our new bed… Nah no ex-​husband on this round but a new bed we needed so to Unilocal I went and after reading the Unilocal reviews decided to call and got Karen the Ghandi of mattresses…
Karen is just that good…
She really does know her bedding if you wonder about it just give her a call you’ll end up learning anything and everything there is to know about mattresses & sleeping stuff… Personally; I loved that.
She’s also honest and a straight shooter even if I’ve not yet met her in person… We did buy our new bed from her this past week and no it’s not a TempurPedic but damn if it doesn’t feel like it is… Not up to spending several thousands of dollars on another Tempur so was looking for its affordably priced twin instead…
Memory foam is a tricky thing as I learned with my old TempurPedic from days gone by in that there is a serious «adjustment» period that one must experience while their body adjusts to the mechanics behind it… They warn you about this you know when you order the mattress but you can’t really believe that it could be that bad…
Just over one month of excruciating nights of sleep only to wake in the morning all stoved up and decrepit feeling as if I’d been in a Kung fu match all night when I’d crawl out of bed verses waking restful and perky… I actually began to dread bedtime as the thought of the torture I’d be up for made me stay up extra late just to put off the inevitable… Just about the time I was ready to call TempurPedic and have them come pick up the mattress it happened; my body finally adjusted to it and I was hooked ever since… But boy what a month…
To my surprise from the first night all the way up until last night which makes for 4 solid nights of sleep I have slept so damn comfortably, restful and supportedlly cradled while I slept and no soreness what so ever! My neck & back feel great now too whereas before I’d wake up with a stiff neck and back… I’m still shocked over that as I was actually dreading getting a new mattress just for that painful adjustment period alone… The memory foam forms to the unique cracks, crevices and contours of each persons body; that’s what makes it such a superior and superlative mattress choice…
Although I am rather active when I sleep winding up all over the bed and often times waking up diagonal I move so much less I’ve noticed since sleeping on our new mattress… And I haven’t fallen off the bed yet either which is a great sign.
Our body’s repair and recuperate only when we sleep therefore getting ‘restful’ comfortable sleep is a major key to a healthy life…

The solid 5 star rating is for the beautiful & CONSISTENT customer service I received from the first time I phoned Miss Karen nearly 3 months ago to get the estimate, to the phone calls in between to this past Monday’s actual delivery of it which went off without a hitch. The pricing is fair as well and I’d say at or even below market. I chose not to shop around after I initially spoke with Karen as the Unilocal reviews I had thoroughly examined prior to my call to her and then after speaking to her told me I was going to be more than satisfied & happy.
